starbucks-logo-thumb.jpgOn average I spend fifteen minutes each morning standing alongside other dreary commuters at my local Starbucks. As amusing as the time spent trying to decipher barista lingo is, I'd much rather spend it in bed. Perhaps it was sleep deprivation that motivated me to check out the Starbucks Store on Ebates, but once I did, I knew the days of waiting for a simple cup of coffee were over. Not only will I receive 8% cash back through Ebates, but I was pleasantly surprised to find my favorite Starbucks products. Great coffee and online rebates? Say no more.

The Starbucks Store offers beans from around the world, as well as brewing equipment guaranteed to excite the barista within. Choose from top products such as DeLonghi Espresso machines, Chambord French Press, and Cuisinart Electric Coffee Makers. For those who want just the beans, the average pound of coffee is just $10.95! That's half the amount I would spend in store. In fact, the prices are so low I don't need to search for online coupon codes, or wait for major sales. I will however save over 50% on my monthly coffee expenditure. In addition to saving money on Starbucks products, I'll also be getting something far more valuable than my morning java fix: extra sleep.

Nothing puts me into a shopping frenzy quite like the right sale and the right time... Sales, like most things in life are about timing. And it is time. For three days only (March 31, 2009-April 2, 2009), take 20% off orders of $299 or more, take 30% off orders of $300-$499, and 40% off orders of $500 or more at Bloomingdale's! This includes both full-price and sale items, and the more you spend, the more you will save. So the timing is just right to shop for all of your Spring fashion needs for men, women and kids, and items for the home too.

To make the savings even more appealing ( if that is at all possible) we have increased Bloomingdale's cash back for the sale period from 2% to 4% to put some more cash in your wallet, or hopefully your hot new handbag!

FloralPrintedTop.jpgThis is a great opportunity for me to shop for myself and to pick up some gifts for friends and family members with summer birthdays that will sneak up on me. Also, Mother's Day is quickly approaching, and I'd better start shopping now for the perfect gift. I can cross a couple Spring Wardrobe must-haves for myself off the list too, when I pick up this affordable (and stylish) Floral Print Tank by Aqua for just $78 and Plaid Cotton Shirt for just $58 with 4% cash back. Not only will I fill my Spring blouse void, I'll have gifts to give, and I will save 40% off with my bountiful purchases while earning 4% cash back. Plus, I can get free shipping on orders of $300+.

Hi everyone. I'm Bill, and I'm an addict. Fortunately, my addiction is not damaging to my health, only my wallet. I'm not hooked on hard drugs. Rather, my real fix is musical gear, especially those of the vintage persuasion. I started out in my youth, experimenting with guitars and tube amplifiers, but by the time I was ready to go to college, I was already well on my way down that dark and lonely road, afraid I was going to end up saying "Hey buddy, can you spare a 6L6?" (If you get that joke, you might be headed down that very same road)

A real turning point in my life was when I discovered the ultimate enabler for my addiction: eBay. I was seventeen or so, and I suddenly realized that instead of staining my fingers black looking at local classified ads, I could hop on the 'net, and within a few minutes (dial-up modem, after all) I could be debating how much I really loved a mid-seventies Fender Telecaster, or if I was more interested in holding out for that Blackface Bassman amplifier I'd been lusting after for a few months.

I realize that for many of you, that last paragraph or so reads kind of like a foreign language, and I understand. However, for those of you who have a love for vintage gear like I do (yes, all those amps in that picture belong to me, and yes, those are two BlackFace Fender amps) then think about this: the next time you're ready to pull the trigger and pick up a $2,000 Pre-CBS Jazzmaster or Gold Top Les Paul, you can earn 3% cash back on all those auctions you plan to win (or "Buy it Now" icons you click) through Ebates. I'll let you do the math on how much you'll get back. In some cases, it might be enough for another guitar...

Coupon.jpgMy first year in college I had a roommate who would spend her Saturday mornings clipping coupons and filing them into a coupon organizer. At the time, I remember thinking her behavior was extremely strange (little did I know that "sport" coupon clipping was only the tip of the iceberg of her oddity). Not that coupon clipping is necessarily abnormal, but its the last thing you would imagine to see stumbling into the dorm room of an eighteen year old away from home for the first time. Plus, there was something very compulsive, yet totally methodical, about the clipping and filing; it was like a coupon frenzy. Oh the things I've seen!

Now I have reached a point in my life where I find her pastime commendable, and I even seek out a coupon or two myself when the money-saving mood strikes me (which, let's face it, is quite often). Thankfully, I do not need to purchase a coupon organizer because I have access to Ebates coupons, so all my coupon needs are taken care of and no clipping is necessary. Most often,Right now, if you are a new customer and spend $100 you can get 10% off your entire order with Bluefly coupon code BFITM10. And, if you spend $150 or more you can get $20 off and free shipping with code AFF20FS at checkout. I always find great deals and cheap designer clothing at Bluefly. The have a fantastic selection of shoes and handbags from top names like Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo (at up to 40% off) plus handbags from Gustto, Marc Jacobs, and Rebecca Minkoff. So if you are looking  transform designer splurge into more of a designer steal, shop Bluefly and get a great deal with 4% cash back and a Bluefly coupon.

Find a complete list of coupons on clothing and accessories here.

As for the old roommate, I am sure she is a millionaire by now.

It's officially travel season. Even yours truly, who usually leads a hermetic life within the seven by seven confines of San Francisco proper has booked a trip for Vegas next month. It's time for some Spring Break getaways or to start making graduation travel plans, maybe even get a leg up on summer vacations if you're really on the ball. Regardless of where you end up traveling, one thing is for sure: you don't want to pay full price for a rental car.

enterprise_detail_01.gifWhether you are doing a short weekend getway, taking a road trip, or want to do a more economical "stay-cation" by renting a sports car and tooling around your home town like a wild yahoo, a rental car can be a godsend. However, the price of a car can often be prohibitive. Luckily we have some great Enterprise Coupons at Ebates right now that will save you a ton of money in addition to the 2% cash back you'll earn on all your Enterprise Rent-A-Car transactions.

There are two Enterprise Coupons right now that you can take advantage of: first is 50% off weekend rentals at Enterprise on most cars at most neighborhood locations. That's about as good a deal as you can find if you're renting for weekend getaway that you don't want to use your own car for. But if you're traveling, fret not, we also have a coupon for a free upgrade on your next airport rental at Enterprise.

So there you have it: two great opportunities to put some Enterprise coupons to use for your getaway needs. Now you just have to earn some cash back on flights and hotels as well...

Today's an exciting day, for two special reasons. First, the big news:ToshibaDirect is currently offering 2% cash back on all purchases! That's right -  whether you're just grabbing a new hard drive for your home computer, or buying a $3500 tricked-out gaming rig, you'll be recieving 2% cash back with Ebates! More importantly for some, however, there's a special coupon expiring today that you should know about. Today's the last day for the exclusive Ebates Toshiba coupon for $50 off the Satellite L350, and with double cash back, you can seriously save on a great new laptop!

satellite-l350-st3701-laptop.jpgNow before you write this off as every other laptop coupon out there, you should take a peek at the specs on this little bundle of power. While minuscule netbooks may be all the rage nowadays, there's something to be said for working on a full-sized computer. Sure, you won't be able to fit the Toshiba Satellite L350 in your pocket or fit it in your purse, but think of how much more productive you'll be with a 100% full-sized keyboard, 2GB of memory, 160GB of hard drive space, and most importantly, a 17" widescreen monitor with ample workspace for all your programs. Considering how much computer you're getting for just $479, this is a great deal. In an age where computers are getting smaller and smaller, it's hard to get a 17" monitor for an affordable price. Now's your chance!

So, head on over to ToshibaDirect and see if it's up your alley. If so, make sure to grab our Toshiba coupon for $50 off - you just can't beat $100 off and 2% cash back at Ebates!

Easter is April 12 this year and my friend over at the Wild Planet Toy Store kindly agreed to give fellow Ebates shoppers a special discount on toy purchases.

It's simple - just go to the Wild Planet Toy Store, pick out a bunch of stuff that you wish had been around when you were a kid, then after checkout, enter EBATES in the Coupon Code field on the payment screen.

Click "Redeem It" and you'll receive 3% off the price of your purchase. This 3% discount is offered in addition to the 3% cash back you'll get in your Ebates big fat check.

Extra bonus: the discounts count toward the purchase of bundles, including those that are already discounted up to 15%. The only thing you can't use the additional discount for is the purchase of gift certificates (but you probably knew that already).

For those with toy buying needs beyond Easter, my buddy said he'd extend the discount and honor the code for all purchases made between now and (including) April 30, 2009. So you can stock up on birthday presents too!

What I like best about the Wild Planet Toy Store is that they carry the complete line of Wild Planet toys, so you can get everything at one place, which increases your savings on shipping.  (In case you're wondering, I don't work for the Toy Store, I work for the company that makes the toys - a  totally separate group of people.)

Denim Fit Guide.jpg
Like most women, I have a love-hate relationship with denim. Lately though, it seems my relationship has been leaning toward the dysfunctional side of things, so after much consideration (and heaps of ill-fitting jeans), I have accepted that I am in need of some serious retail therapy. Luckily for me, the Macy's Denim Fit Guide makes shopping for your lower half a breeze. Say goodbye to the days of unflattering, tear-inducing denim, and say hello to jeans that fit like a glove, and if I may say so, flatter the derriere. As part of our Spring Promo, Cash Back at Macy's has been increased to 6%. As if I needed an incentive to shop.

Macys Denim.jpgThe beauty of the Macy's Denim Fit Guide, is in the tailoring. Click on How To Measure, and you'll find a detailed guide on properly measuring waist and hips, as well as useful information regarding rise and leg openings. These two factors are what determine a skinny low-rise, from a straight high-waisted. Sound confusing? Don't fret, the Macy's Denim Fit Guide features a Shop By Style section, allowing you to personally choose your fit based on three components. Fit through the hip and thigh, leg opening, and the rise. After choosing your desired fit, Macy's does the hunting and viola! Jeans tailored to your exact wishes. After seeing countless options, and of course falling in love with most, I started to wonder what else Macy's could magically wisk up. Boyfriends? Three day work weeks? World peace? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Every woman is built differently, and therefore has different needs when it comes to denim. Understanding this, Macy's gives the option to Shop By Body Type. In this section, you'll find eight different body types to choose from, and just like the shop by style section, all that's needed from you is a click of the mouse. Macy's does the rest, searching out the best fitting jeans whether you're petite, need a butt boost, or have curves for days. Check out the Denim Trend Report for inspiration and ideas, and find a pair(s) that work as hard as you do. Check out Macy's Spring Denim Guide, and I guarantee you'll find multiple jeans that flatter your behind, and boost your spirits. That's the power of Macy's.

Spring-DenimAlways the backbone of fashion, denim has gotten a major facelift this season. Past favorites like high waisted, and skinny denim are being overshadowed by mega hits such as the boyfriend jean. The plethora of newcomers is making every woman's indispensable wardrobe item fashion forward, not to mention this seasons hottest accessory. Paying too much for fashion is never fashionable, so with that in mind I'll use online coupon codes, cash back, and search out the best sales. All to bring you the hottest looks in denim for less! Go ahead, thank me later.

Siwy Hannah Cropped Jean.jpgThis Spring, women everywhere are stepping out in jeans that evoke a time when coffee was the preferred drink, and androgynous dressing was all the rage. I'm talking of course about the era of grunge, and this season's distressed jean will have you looking like you're with the band. Earmarked with tears, fading, even holes, this jean has a no frills vibe. The Siwy Hannah jean to the left, is one of my favorite examples. You'll find it at Shopbop, and earn 6% cash back through Ebates. Browse Shopbop's extensive sale section where you'll find, distressed, bootcut, and tons of other denim styles, all 30-70% off. The perfect compliment to your favorite Sunday clothing, the distressed jean is a must-have for Spring/Summer.

Save on distressed denim at Bluefly (4% cash back at Ebates), and Saks 5th Avenue (1% cash back at Ebates).

With Springtime glee on the lips (or, more appropriately, on the fingertips) of every blogger around, the new season really hasn't ceased to be a source of inspiration for yours truly. Although, my happiness seems to be merely theoretical; I am in theory happy that it is Spring and that warmer weather & bountiful sunshine are both on their way. However, in reality, I am stuck in the same Wintertime rut that I was before March 20th. Quick fix for the seasonal rut? A thorough closet cleansing, purchasing of some inspirational clothing, Spring cleaning of the home, and, my personal favorite, an easy-on-the-wallet at-home beauty treatment.

BLISS-mask.jpgShop Bliss Labs where you can get the creme de la creme of beauty products and spa essentials. Currently, the featured product of the month on the site is a beauty editor, customer, and celebrity favorite: the Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask, avaliable for $52 with 4% cash back. Formulated to be a simple quick fix for "dull, tired, sallow, 'I'm sick of my skin' skin", and packed full of antioxidants and oxygen for revitalizing and brightening, it really is the mask that does it all and packs some serious results for less than one trip to a professional facialist. Get you own Triple Oxygen Energizing Mask and use coupon code EBATES09 to get free shipping on orders of $75+ and get a free pore perfecting facial polish sample with your order. So if you also find yourself needing a powerful pick me up that's easy on the wallet, try it out! For more money-saving DYI beauty, click here.

If you have ever wondered what the Ebates headquarters looks like, let me clue you in. It is exactly how you would imagine it: a bunch of people fervently working at their respective computers with the ultimate goal of saving you money. Today, we are happy to unveil the beginning of Spring Savings Promotion, where six of our merchants have increased cash back! Shop with Ann Taylor (now 5%), Macy's (6%), Office Max (5%), Kohls (3%), Kodak (12%), and West Elm (4%), all featuring special Spring discounts, coupons, and savings with increased cash back! Find everything you need to outfit your home, fashions for the family and stock up on office essentials too. I will be jumping on Kohls cash back increase and shopping for one of my favorite designer for less collaborations, Simply Vera Wang.

CocoonCardiganWith a huge sale happening now at Kohls designed to help you come in under budget for your Spring essentials and with deals for the home and clothing for $10 and under, it is a surefire way to get what you want for a lot less. Plus, when you use coupon code EBATESAPRIL, you can take 15% off your entire order of $100 or more and pay just $4.99 flat rate shipping on every order! I have had my eye on this Simply Vera Wang Cocoon Cardigan, that is now only $37.99 (reduced from $64) because its the perfect layer for Spring that is equal parts classic feminine as it is relaxed and deconstructed. I could pair it with these simple straight leg black pants, which are a fantastic, well-tailored wardrobe staple on sale for only $31.99 with 3% cash back. Although they don't look like much in the photograph, they have an impeccable fit, and the cropped style is ideal for showing of some fabulous Spring heels or paired with chic ballet flats.

Gentle readers, I won't lie to you. I'm a little let down by the misleading name of this merchant. When I started working here, and I read that name, I totally envisioned a "friendster for pugs" kind of site, where pugs could be friends and swap pictures and all that jazz. (yes, I'm aware of dogster.com and petster.com, but one more couldn't have hurt)

However, every time I click on the site, I don't get this:  peaches_pug.jpg

Rather, I get an eyeful of deals and savings on charms, beads, jewelry, pendants, and much more. Where I'm looking for scrunchy-faced pets with names like Mr. Wiggles, I find at 40% savings as part of the Spring Clearance promotion. While it may not be what I am looking for at any specific time, I can't help but be impressed with all the savings available on jewelry, especially their collection of Murano glass pendants and earrings. Being a single male, I have more use currently for a canine companion that I do for jewelry, but my search for poochie good times has given me a great resource for when I do have a special someone that I might need to buy some jewelry for.

So, while I look for pictures of pets, and end up with savings graphics that look a lot more like this: pugster banner.jpg

Well, your search is finally over. Not because Ebates currently has any outstanding Dell Outlet coupons for you today. No, for that you'll have to check back later on this week, but for the next few hours, you can save at Dell and get Outlet-like prices on a brand new Dell Inspiron Mini 9! Instead of the normal asking price of $249, you can head on over to Dell right now (until 6am!) and grab a Mini 9 for only $199; with 2% cash back at Ebates! Who needs a Dell Outlet coupon when you have a deal this sweet?

dell-mini-9.gifThe Dell Mini 9 is an adorable little computer that is the perfect compliment for any student, mobile professional, or anyone else who wants to get some serious work done on the go without all the extra baggage of a full-sized laptop. It has a full keyboard that has been masterfully shrunk down to go along with its tiny 8.9" screen that is perfect for viewing e-mails, PowerPoints, Word documents, and, of course, surfing the 'net. If you're afraid of Linux, you'll want to drop the extra money to get Windows XP, as this little netbook comes with Linux standard for extra savings. Even though I'm fine with trying a new operating system, everyone's so comfortable with Windows XP I wouldn't blame you for adding it on for just a few dollars more.

Even if you're holding out for the aforementioned Dell Outlet Coupons, you'll be sure to save tons with electronics procured through Ebates. Who doesn't like a little cash back with their coupons?

The sound of a record repeating itself can be quite annoying, even to a seasoned listener such as myself. Hearing a single word or syllable skip over and over carries the same irritation as thinking the same words or ideas in one's head. Repetition may work for body builders, but for writers it can be a precursor to the dreaded writer's block. Having made several unsuccessful attempts to write about Spring attire, I find myself in this exact predicament. With the weather in purgatory, Spring shopping has lost its edge, and that which used to excite now bores. Being a Deal Hunting Diva, I can always count on a good sales to pick me up. In particular, sales that encompass items previously too expensive for purchase.

Abaete Dress.jpgWhen out of reach garments become obtainable, it sends my brain into a covetous state, haunting my thoughts until said item is either purchased or sells out, the latter of which sends my brain into a depressed state. Of the several hundred or so items I covet on a daily basis, few stand out as being truly excitable. This Abaete Dress from Saks Fifth Avenue is one of those exceptions. Made from 100% Silk, this dress has the playfulness of youth, but retains maturity with a body-hugging bodice. It looks equally stunning with sandals or heels, and at $330, it's now 40% off the original price. In addition to saving over two hundred dollars, shopping Saks 5th Avenue through Ebates, will earn me 1% cash back. A dress like this compliments my pretty days, and gives me a mental boost when pretty is the last thing on my mind. Like every woman, being able to look at myself and feel gorgeous is key to my overall happiness. Some days this comes naturally, and some days it doesn't. For the days of fashion block, this dress will inspire and delight. It even gave me something to write about.

I'm going to get personal for a second here, folks. My sister is getting married on Saturday, and because of this momentous occasion, I set out in search of a new suit. As you who have read my postings may notice, I tend to be very low-maintenance when it comes to fashion. I usually don't need much more than a hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and a mountain of clever graphic t-shirts big enough to make a bed out of.

So, being the intelligent web consumer that I am, I checked around a number of different sites, and did a little searching through a few search engines to see where I could find the best blend of style, functionality, and savings. While I am going to keep hush-hush about where I ended up purchasing my new threads, I did want to bring to everyone's attention out there what I consider to be a nice, albeit unsettling, promotion: the risk-free suit from Jos. A. Bank. I first heard about this promotion on New York Magazine's Fashion Blog, and checked it out for myself. While I am fairly comfortable in my level of job security here at Ebates, and hope I won't be able to take advantage of this promotion, it's still a great idea for folks who are on the bubble and want to find a good suit for future job interviews. Essentially, what they are offering is the opportunity to purchase a suit any time between now and April 9th, and if you involuntarily become unemployed between April 16th and July 1st, Jos A. Bank will refund you the cost of your suit, up to $199, and you will still be able to keep the suit yourself.

jos suit.jpg
It's sad that we are in trying economic times that justify a promotion like this, but hey, everyone has to join together to help turn this recession around a little, right? Naturally, you will be ahead of the economic curve, because you have used Ebates to help earn you 5% cash back on all your purchases at Jos. A. Bank - after all, we all have to stretch our dollars a little further these days. Plus, you can look for Jos. A. Bank coupons when you shop through Ebates.

Michelle Obama Garden.jpg
Inspired by the First Lady, I decided to try my hand at planting my own garden. Having never done so, I'm not quite sure what to expect. Starting a garden depends on so many factors, it seems almost magic when things do grow. In a situation filled with the uncertain, there's one thing I know I can depend on, Ebates. Thanks to their online rebates, I'll earn cash back and find some great discounts. If only they gave out green thumbs too.

Vegetable-Gardens
In my search for garden supplies, I headed over to Gurney's Seed And Nursery. This gardener's paradise is literally a one-stop shop for seeds, grasses, flowers, even common household plants. AvonBasicsSiliconeHandCreamgif.gifThis past Friday marked the first day of Spring, and I was overcome with the urge to de-Winter myself and my life. Let me say this: I do not care if I freeze my "buns" off, I am throwing every bit of Winter clothing into a plastic bin and will say adios to it until further notice. I plan on making it as dramatic and ceremonious as possible, too. I felt that I was wholeheartedly on board with the project until I realized that however much I wanted to feel the transition of the seasons, one big part of me would not participate... my dry Winterous skin!

I thought I was destined to suffer the fate of calling off my Spring festivities until I reached for my trusty savior: Avon Basics Silicone Glove Hand Cream available through Avon with 5% cash back and on sale for a remarkable $2.49 (and check out these Avon coupons before you shop). Truly, is the only way to soothe dry skin on my hands, feet, even elbows and knees. It is sure to make my skin welcome in Spring, so I will slather on as much as possible and wait for warm weather.

And if we are on the topic of soft skin, check out Avon's Skin So Soft Fusions Soft & Nourish Dual Softening Body Wash... it will change your life!

At first glance, you may look at this black on white collection of photo frames and think... wow, where's all the color?
REDE wall.jpg
But in the words of rock ancients Def Leppard:

Huh!
Photograph... I don't want your
Photograph... I don't need your
Photograph... All I've got is a photograph, but its not enough

What am I getting at? I'm not sure. But some color would really help, and with today's technology and discounts on great cameras, you shouldn't have too much trouble there.

If you still feel like seeing Def Leppard in concert, you are lucky - they are still touring.  And in the meantime, regardless of what photos you want or need, these nifty set of frame will bring your pics to life in a hurry. Only at Red Envelope, where you will earn 6% cash back when you use your Ebates account.

Spring cleaning for me used to be a tedious process that was both costly and time consuming. Before I knew about Online Rebates, my plan of attack was to head over to the local supermarket where I would pay top dollar for hazardous chemicals guaranteed to give me a migraine before the day's end. In an effort to make this year a more pleasurable and cost effective affair, I'm buying smarter and greener products.

Vacuum.jpg
Dirty carpets are the bane of every homeowner's existence. Carpets are a breeding ground for irritants such as dirt, germs, and allergens. Keeping your carpet clean used to be a time consuming task, however the Kenmore DuraPower Vacuum makes it a breeze. This bagless vacuum features a dirt sensor and HEPA filtration system that traps 99% of dirt and allergens. Your carpets will not only look better, but they'll hold fewer irritants and germs, two factors that make this vacuum a must-have for those with children. I found it at Sears, where'll I'll earn 2% cash back through Ebates. As an added bonus, for a limited time, select Kenmore vacuums are on sale at Sears. The one I mentioned is 20% off, making it smart for your home and wallet.

When it comes to chemicals, those designed for cleaning bathrooms can be the most caustic and dangerous to your health. MotherNature.com is a one stop destination for natural cleaning supplies, such as Life Tree household products. Their Tea Tree and Lavender Bathroom Cleaner is made from concentrated plant oils, and is guaranteed to clean and deodorize all household surfaces. Without having to look for Online Coupon Codes, I found this and other Life Tree natural products on sale at MotherNature.com. Being a member of Ebates, when I shop MotherNature I'll earn 7% cash back. Less headaches and more cash in my pocket? Thanks Ebates!

RocketGloss.jpgWhen it comes to the things human beings actually need, we are quite simple, visceral beings who crave the totally obvious. When it comes to the things we want, both life and the laundry list of things we are ready to acquire gets far more complicated. Luckily, there is Ebates to streamline the process of coming to terms with the list, and using it will help me save on things I either need or want, with cash back, online coupons, discount stores and online rebates. I become a particularly happy human when I shop and save with Sephora coupons. I am still taking advantage of the March cash back increase and have used the free shipping Sephora coupon (code SHIP35) every chance I get: like if my shampoo gets dangerously low, or if I need to spice up my makeup rotation on a particularly uninspired day. Just when I thought (for a brief moment) that the well of products to buy and write about had run dry, I happened upon this horribly awesome new arrival.

Allie, a.k.a. "Deal Hunting Diva" and I are often discussing what pieces of clothing we are going to buy next. Some items are fantasy, like, for example a $700 Colorblock Alexander Wang dress. While I could work my brain into concocting some kind of makeshift justification for that, the reality is that I do not need such an item in my closet, especially if it will blow my entire Spring clothing budget. With a rational, recession-minded attitude towards my wardrobe, I've decided to take the plunge and buy a couple new things for the warm weather lurking around the corner. Some sale stalking (checking to see if something has gone on sale) and internet browsing is definitely in order. Good thing for Ebates, my deal finding portal, where I have access to a plethora of online stores to chose from.

JBrandAcidWashRippedJeansjpg.jpgMaking the best out of your wardrobe while on a budget requires some give and take. For instance: I can skimp on the sandals that might get worn one season and destroyed, and instead splurge on items that will spruce up some of my older garments and favorite t-shirts. Finding such things, however, is not always easy. With the help of a trusty and equally obsessed co-worker, I came to the final decision to splurge on a pair of jeans that, knowing my denim obsession and propensity to wear jeans just about everyday, I would get my use out of. I was unsure about which pair of jeans I was going to buy, but I knew that after season upon season of tight and dark jeans, I was ready to lighten up. I immediately liked these 12" Pencil Leg Acid Wash Ripped Jeans, from Shopbop with 6% cash back. Because the jeans are made by ever-popular J Brand, I know they are going to fit impeccably well and they are new, fresh and different, so I know they will be the perfect addition to the Spring rotation.

cute-babies.jpgShopping for moms-to-be can be quite challenging to a single late twenty something such as myself. Shopping on a budget can be nearly impossible. Luckily for me, being a member of Ebates means I have access to the best online coupon codes, including Babies R Us coupons. With several baby showers in the next few months, I'll need all the sales, discounts, and cash back I can get. Who knew something so small and adorable could cost so much money?

I always like to give gifts that reflect my own personal beliefs, like going natural. For years I've been a firm believer of using natural products, and think this is especially important for babies. Many lotions, soaps, and other skin care products contain harsh chemicals such as synthetic dyes and perfumes. These can cause irritation, rashes, even allergic reactions. California Baby is an all natural skin care line that includes bubble baths, shampoos, even sunscreens, all made for the most sensitive of skin. With several people to buy for costs can add up quick. Good thing with Babies R Us Coupons, I'll save $2 on any three skin care products, including the entire California Baby line. A great discount always makes me feel good, especially when it benefits others. Thanks Ebates!

If you've been looking for Mac Mini coupons, and let's be honest, who hasn't, you've probably noticed that it's a huge hassle to find a good discount on any Apple product out there. That is, until Apple refreshes their current models with brand new ones, giving you a chance to get a super-sweet deal on the same computer you were going to buy a week before! Now with the brand new Mac Mini's out there, you can save hundreds on the same awesome Mini from a few months ago - and get 2% Ebates cash back at Mac Mall or 1% Ebates cash back at the Apple store! The choice is yours!

mac_mini.jpgJust in case you missed the big news a few weeks back, the Mac Mini was recently refreshed; putting some much-needed power back under its hood. It now features a new NVIDIA graphics processor for up to 5x faster performance, a larger hard drive to hold all your photos and videos, an upgraded Intel dual-core processor, and, last but not least, a lot more green! Seeing as it's just after St. Patricks Day and all that, why not splurge on a computer that's just as green as your dubiously Irish heritage? When the new Mac Mini is idle, it consumes less than 13 watts -- 45 percent less power than the previous generation Mini that sucked up power like a vacuum. Even its highly recyclable aluminum chassis and 31% smaller packaging are eco-friendly! It's a great deal all the way around!

Even if you don't need a new computer this second, you can always look around our electronics section for more sweet deals and Apple coupons. But with the Mac Mini being so cheap, green, and powerful, why would you?

In honor of the fact that about eighty percent of the people I know have birthdays somewhere between mid-February and late March, today I write about a merchant I just discovered myself today: giggle.com. I looked into it a bit, and I was really impressed - they offer you the chance to sort by offers, including free shipping. They also have a Baby Registry, a section of Green nursery picks, or organic nursery picks for those of you who are a little more environmentally-minded.

giggle.gifSo if, like me, you are going to a handful of baby showers over the next few months, check out giggle.com, where you can even sort by occasion for that perfect shower gift or first birthday gift. Whether you are a good friend looking for a unique gift for your friend's child, or if you are a parent or parent-to-be, the whole site is a veritable smorgasbord of baby products including furniture, decor, feeding accessories, health & safety needs, toys, clothing, and more. Plus, you can visit the giggle.com information page for giggle coupon codes and other savings, and all purchases made there, from bassinets to binkies, will earn you 4% cash back.

Or, if you're more of a traditionalist, there are plenty of other baby & kids stores to be found through Ebates.

Here at Ebates, March madness has nothing to do with alley-oops, extremely tall men, or half court shots. March madness for us is all about footwear. Why? Because our shoe merchants offer some of the biggest cash back and they sell the most important thing in my world...handbags! That's right, I said handbags, not shoes. Every woman has a certain item she fawns over, and it just so happens that my can't-live-without-it piece is the handbag. Luckily for me, Ebates shoe merchants sell more than just shoes. They also sell bags, accessories, even clothing! With Shoe Week being extended, I'll earn even more Cash Back- even if I don't buy shoes.

Marc By Marc Mulberry.jpgWhen it comes to purchasing handbags, I always play it safe. Trendy colors and lots of embellishments will date a bag faster than your bank can bill you. It's for this reason I choose handbags in neutral colors with minimal accessories. This Marc By Marc Jacobs Dr.Q Hillier bag is done in a soft mulberry color, a refreshing change from my standard tan or black. It features a touch of silver hardware, and its minimal look is both chic and timeless. I found it at Nordstrom where shopping through Ebates will earn me 5% cash back. Apparently it does pay to look good.

At this point in time, most of you have seen the wondrous vacuuming robot called Roomba; whether you have one, know someone who does, or just have seen this video:  While they are a fun-filled means of kitten transportation, I find that they really are at their most effective when performing the duty they were constructed to do: cleaning floors.

Today only, you don't need the luck of the Irish to save some serious coin. You can save a ton on a new Roomba to sweep your floors (with or without a feline pilot): buy a Roomba Scheduler at $50 off the regular price, you'll get a free Pet Upgrade Kit (a $30 value), and you'll get it all shipped for free! Act quickly - this great deal only lasts through St. Patrick's Day, so before you make your way down to the pub, head over to Ebates to take advantage of this great deal and earn 3% cash back while you're at it.

patricks_day_graphics_02.gifWhen you think of St. Patricks Day, what comes to mind, dear readers? Drunken revelry? Snake clubbing? The overwhelming presence of the color green? If you answered yes to any of these rhetorical questions, then my friend, you are wrong. St. Patricks Day is actually all about electronics sales, as can be clearly seen at a handful of our sweet merchants below! If you're in the mood to save some money, the traditional day of caning has suddenly become a day of savings. And, of course, you'll save 1-3% cash back with Ebates. How lucky for you!

Newegg
Newegg's St. Patrick's Day Deals are as varied as the reasons to drink to the day itself. Whether you're green with envy, or overflowing with cash, you should be able to find something sweet here. From the Toshiba laptop on a $150-off special, to the myriad mail-in-rebates and price cuts on cameras, GPS systems, and more, Newegg has certainly got it all. Even a coffeemaker!

The fact is, I work in my pajamas so they are pretty important to me! So how do I find some stylish and comfy new pajamas without paying full-price? Head to my favorite retailers through Ebates and only look at the "Clearance" section. The key to saving money on clothes shopping is not to think about what you need this season, but to think about what you need this year (and only browse the clearance). I found four comfy pairs of pajamas and they are all under $20 a pair. I think I just found my new work wardrobe! I'll be comfy while blogging away in my pajamas.

charmeuse pjs.JPG Would you love to lounge in these Oscar de la Renta Charmeuse Pajama Set? Well forget that $80 price tag because they can be yours for $19.99 at Macy's. Plus, Ebates pays you 4% cash back on your purchase. They are only available in Medium! I love virtual clearances because it's so much easier to dig through the deals. And while you're at Macy's virtual store you can also submit a review for a chance to win $1,000 and enter the Macy's and Clinton Kelly's Makeover America Sweepstakes. What if your new pajamas don't fit? Remember that it's easier to return a Macys.com purchase than a store purchase because you have two return options; mail it back with the pre-paid label or take it to a brick-and-mortar store. I'm feeling comfier already just thinking about the ease and comfort of shopping online for pajamas!

Although I have always seen March as the figurative "Wednesday" of the calendar months, it is a surprisingly eventful time of year. We can thank March for bringing us St. Patrick's Day, daylight savings, the first day of Spring, and the release of the Twilight DVD! Twiligters everywhere have been most eagerly awaiting March 21st, the day that they can get their warm, regrettably non-vampire hands on their very own copy of the "blockbuster" movie. Intelligent Twilighters (ahem) will be picking up their copy through Ebates and at either Barnes & Noble or Borders, where they can earn cash back and get exclusive coupons and deals on the movie.

Barnes&NobleTwilight.JPGAt Borders, you can get 4% cash back and an exclusive copy of the DVD, plus an 18-month Twilight calendar (because twelve months of Twilight is not enough), so every month can be just as exciting as the last with the cast of the novel/movie gracing the pages (Tell me, which month will Rob Pattinson be?). And, enjoy free shipping on orders of $25 or more!

Barnes and Noble has an exclusive DVD as well, and upon purchasing you get a free Twilight skin for your cell phone, PDA, or MP3 player and 4% cash back! Show off your "Twilight-Cred" with this exclusive gift and get free shipping on all orders of $25 or more when you shop at Barnes and Noble.com.

Hurry, these deals end soon and the DVD will be officially released in just a few days, so get your copy now.

necker island.jpg
I must admit that occasionally I fall off the bandwagon, verbally committing to something (like hitting the gym four days a week) that I fail to physically act on. I am the master of procrastination, and sometimes "getting around to it" can take awhile. Such is the case when it comes to redesigning my apartment. Spending loads of money on furniture and decor is something I simply can't afford, but not doing so means I'm stuck with interiors that bore me to tears. My solution? Head over to Target, where I'll get 4% cash back through Ebates, and save on countless furniture items.

Yoga TV Stand.jpgWhen redecorating, always start with the livingroom, or front quarters of your house. This is the main focal point of your living environment, and the place most frequented by guests. Before you start making irrational and costly purchases, think of factors like space, floor layout, and light. My house doesn't get that much light and dark furniture can make it seem cluttered and heavy. In order to create the illusion of light, I'll need the proper furniture and decor. One of the most beautiful and cheery places on earth is Necker Island (pictured above). The interiors of the main house harness everything that is wonderful about island living. Lots of light, bright colors, and warm breezes. This Yoga TV Stand is earthy and rustic, yet the stain is light and cheery. The design of this piece matches the furniture from the photo, and the 30% off matches my limited cash flow.

This is a great time of year: we're all beginning to adjust to daylight savings time, some of us have finished our taxes, some of us have undertaken the seemingly daunting task of doing some Spring cleaning, some have done neither, some have done both. Still, as the days are longer, and Summer is just around the corner, there's one thing that I look forward to every year: change. Personally speaking, I do a little personal Spring cleaning, which usually means a haircut, some new shoes, and a new pair of jeans.

lucky logo.gifThis is where I tip my hand about the title of this posting; now is a great time to take advantage of the "St. Pa-tees Day" sale at Lucky Brand Jeans. All adult tees are reduced to $25, and kids tees are down to $19. This provides some extra savings when you shop their great selection of jeans, sweatshirts, and more. To sweeten this deal even more, for a limited time, Lucky Brand Jeans is offering Free Shipping (and you know how I love free shipping!) on all orders site-wide with coupon code 9FREEA.  So, as you get ready for St. Patrick's Day, remember: you don't have to be Irish to be lucky this weekend!

Don't forget your everyday savings with 2% cash back with Ebates either!

StilettoStylistKit.jpgAs Shoe Week marches on, we shoe lovers here at Ebates have covered everything that one might want to (or not want to) strap to their feet for the day. Something that has yet to be discussed, however, is the extras that one might need to accompany a shoe purchase. Because most people have made an error in judgment in regard to the comfort of a pair of shoes they have previously purchased and then cast them away to corners of the closet reserved for empty boxes and dust, innovations have been made to save your budget and your shoes from this useless fate.

With the help of Nordstrom and a few handy products, uncomfortable boots and slippery strappy sandals can now be dusted off and taken for a spin! Nordstrom has a wide selection of Foot Petals: a collection of fashion-friendly shoe fixes. A great introduction to the foot petal family is the Foot Petals Stiletto Stylist Kit, available for $44.95 with 5% cash back. This combo pack is filled with all the best sellers from the brand: Killer Kushionz (insoles for even the most slender shoe), Tip Toes (which keep the ball of your foot from sliding forward), Strappy Strips (prevent blisters) and Heavenly Heelz (keep your heels from slipping). Most of these products sell for at least $18.95 for each pack so the combo set is a great deal at just $44.95. Add on the nearly-priceless value of being able to remedy any shoe-related foot problem one could encounter and the money saved by reviving some old shoes makes the $44 an easy choice!

Shoe Week Continues with Coupons, Increased Cash Back and Sales!

Being a deal hunter is very similar to being a tennis player. Shuffling rapidly from site to site, I am always on the offense, looking for oncoming sales, and smashing stores with coupon codes. In the game of get-it-for-less Ebates is my greatest partner, allowing me to compare what's stores offer the best cash back, and have the best sales. Topping my list this week is National Jean Company (6% cash back through Ebates). From now until Tuesday enjoy 20% off site-wide when you use coupon code SPRINGSALE.

giada.jpgAlways a destination for the hottest clothing and accessories, NJC has added The Shoe Box, a section dedicated those seeking the finest in footwear. While on the hunt for Spring sandals, I came across the Roman inspired Giada Sandal by Sam Edelman. Made from rich leopard print calf hair, these sandals feature tribal beading and a zipper back for maximum ease. I love the chic safari look of these shoes, and can't wait to wear them with my favorite LBD, or when dressing up a simple t-shirt. Either way I'll look great, feel great, and be spared from shoppers remorse. It's a win-win situation!

Hey Ebates Shoppers,

It has been a wild month for Ebates Customer Care. Right after we mailed more checks and Paypal payments than we have ever sent out in the past ten years, many members wrote to us with questions and concerns. I have to admit that we weren't completely prepared for the wave of email that came in. In fact, we are still working (even Saturdays!) to get to all of your messages.  We expect to get to all the mail within the next two weeks. So, if you have been waiting for a response, we appreciate your patience. We hope to get to your message next.

We will try to check in frequently as we move along toward the next Big Fat Check Run on May 15th. Happy shopping in the meantime!

I don't know if you've caught the whiff of it 'round these parts, but Shoe Week is upon us. And as our lovable tech blogger, I'm forced to come up with some kind of concept/mash-up that seamlessly blends both the wonderful world of shoes and the mysterious realm of electronics. This, I've found, is far more difficult than it should be. Most "tech shoes" range from "interesting concepts" to "unmitigated failures," with a whole bunch of ugly dispersed in-between. That's why today, I'm going to suggest something a little odd: keep your technology above your ankles. With so many good deals to be had at Ebates during Shoe Week, there's no reason not to splurge on something traditional (and save 8-13% in cash back while doing it!).

diddy.jpgHowever, that doesn't mean I can't talk about what "tech shoe" concepts and ideas are unequivocally awesome. For starters, the monstrosity that was to be the Shaq Shoe Phone. Created with the intention of having a full-featured cell phone on your feet at all times (you know, because that's totally practical), Shaq's failed foot foray serves as a constant reminder of one thing: how astronomically large Shaq's feet truly are. I mean, seriously? You could fit a pair of Diddy heads behind that thing, easy. Considering that today's mantra is almost universally "less is more", a certain part of me wishes that these behemoths were the latest trend. Imagine walking up the street with feet as large as Godzilla, crushing everything in your path while accidentally calling everyone in your address book. If that doesn't sound like fun, I don't know what does!

World-of-Good
The saying "Actions speak louder than words" happens to be my personal mantra, along with "Do what you say, say what you mean." Both of these statements confirm my believe that talk is cheap, and, when talking, be prepared to back it up. Case in point: the eco-revolution. Catch words like "organic", "sustainability", and "green" have flooded the marketplace, creating awareness (good thing) but deceiving the public (bad thing). Seeing the green to be made in green products, many companies have been pushing everything from organic food to sustainable clothing. While I commend the effort, I have to ask: are they really green?

Unfortunately for consumers, there is no polygraph to detect items masquerading under the green spotlight, and trying to decipher which brands are trustworthy and which are fraud can be a long process. eBay's World of Good takes the guesswork out of green living and provides information, products, and charities that support the place we call home. Shop eBay's World of Good and earn 3% Cash Back through Ebates. Now that's just good for your wallet.

SephoraDIY.gifAs the month long cash back increase (to a fantastic 8%, nothing to shake your cup at) at Sephora continues, I have not yet reached the point where I lack inspiration for blog postings about the matter. That's probably because I have yet to reach a point where I visit the Sephora site and do not feel the urge to buy something. No, this has not happened, not yet, and likely not ever. But my addiction is not always so harmless on my wallet, and while I save money with Sephora coupons, free gifts, and cash back, I am not yet lucky lady on the Millionaire Matchmaker so something's got to give.

Enter Sephora's DIY section, a godsend to my budget and my addiction. I can shop and save money? Perfect. Sephora has you covered on how to skip the spas, do it yourself and save some dough. Some of the products include a professional manicure set for $30 (which pays for itself when you skip one visit to the professional nail salon), Oscar Blandi Pronto OSCARBLANDIRootPen.jpgColore root touch up pen, $23, teeth whitening kits, facial peels, and waxing kits too. If not just for the money saving benefits, visit the DIY section because most girls love to take some time out of her week, put on her favorite guilty pleasure music, light some candles, and have a spa night at home. Check out their extensive sale section too (with some stellar finds for cheap) with deals and specials as well.

aewdew.jpgNow that the holidays are long over, availability of hot products have finally started to match customer demands. With the exception of sweet sales, crazy deals, and of course, coupons that send items flying off the shelves, you can pretty much get a hold of whatever you need to. For over two years, however, the Nintendo Wii has been the one item bucking the "post-holiday rebound" trend. No matter the weather, month, or time of day, Wiis simply could not be found unless you really put your mind to it; making many wonder if the little console would EVER run out of steam.

Nowadays, though, the Wii can be found with ease - as long as you're looking online. Newegg's got 'em; Best Buy has 'em; but now the focus has shifted to Wii Fit. That's right; last year's favorite workout regime is still impossible to find unless you're ready to put in some work searching for it online. Thankfully, however, you don't have to worry about that at all! I've already found your mythical copy of Wii Fit for you at Target, with 3% cash back at Ebates  naturally, meaning you can end your search early and get back to the finer things in life, like gaming.

Grab Wii Fit for $89 at Target (and don't forget that 3% Ebates cash back!), or feel free to poke around our electronics section or coupons to find your own great deal. There's never a better time to start your workout (and start saving!) than today!

MMIMAGE2.jpgThe morning is full of obstacles and dilemmas, such as: what to wear and how not to be late. These two dilemmas are both interconnected and greatly complicated for most women on a regular basis. I also find that the question of "what makeup to wear today" dominates my slightly functional early morning brainwaves. As the days grow longer and slightly warmer, the makeup routine, much like outfits, needs to shift accordingly. If a Spring-appropriate makeup look is what I am after, I must asses what I have to work with: boxes full (overflowing, really) of makeup and beauty products. I think I need some help because my early morning brain is not going to formulate a Spring-like beauty look on its own, and when the midday sun is blazing, I will regret the sleep-deprived, half-awake time saving decision to go for an "au naturale" look for the day.

Luckily for me, and for every woman out there, Lancôme has the answer: a Spring-inspired deluxe free gift! When you spend only $35 (and I recommend buying La Laque Fever to get yourself there) you receive Free Shipping and a fashionable Spring makeup pouch filled with Color Design eyeshadow quad in Volcano, Color Fever Gloss, and best-selling Virtuose mascara. Essentially, this pouch contains everything one needs to get beautiful in the easiest and most time efficient way possible, and it's free! The eyeshadow quad has the shadows you need to create a sultry smoky eye or a soft but defined daytime look. Plus, you can easily carry the entire set with you on the go without adding any extra baggage. A streamlined morning routine that's oh so Spring? I think so!

I tell ya what, good readers, I have been counting down the days from the time we added this merchant until I could write this blog. Just look at the title. It makes me happy on any number of levels. So what can you find at Things You Never Knew Existed, besides 5% cash back? Well, there is really quite a wide range of stuff to choose from, from the classic prank supplies: itching powder, whoopee cushions, joy buzzers, and fake dog doo, in addition to sports collectibles, novelty t-shirts, and seasonal finds.

things you didn't know logo.gifIn addition to the wide array of more "unique" items, you can also browse the entire section of the site devoted to items as seen on TV, from the Push Up Pro system to the one-touch can opener, even those forklift straps that have always fascinated me. There is also an entire section dedicated to "useful things" such as battery testers, clocks, flashlights, and other assorted home goods.

So what makes this worth talking about on the blog? Simple: you can earn 5% cash back on all your purchases, many of which are already discounted. This is a great opportunity to earn cash back on various gifts and novelties, as well as everyday items that you might not have realized you can earn some extra cash on. Plus, the name is just so enticing, I figure that warrants a little examination on its own.

As they describe it themselves: The Things You Never Knew Existed is a unique collection of over five hundred lighthearted gifts of "wit and whimsy, merriment and mirth."  I couldn't have put it better myself.

Alas, shoe week at Ebates is upon us. Which means, as I am sure you have gathered, that six of our top shoe merchants have increased cash back for the occasion. Bringing together increased cash back, some pretty amazing sales, and coupons for additional savings, shoe week is sure to put some shoes on your feet, some cash back in your wallet, and some deals to gloat about. Like most people who have a propensity to shop, I particularly enjoy buying shoes and I do it often. More than other forms of clothing, like blouses or some jeans, shoes have a special  utilitarian purpose. They really do protect your feet from all the horrific things that lurk on sidewalks and public streets, and as I have emphasized in past blog posts, transform an outfit like no other item. So yes, coats and pants are important, but without shoes, not only would you not be allowed in most establishments, but you would likely catch some horrible diseases and have serious foot problems. So buy some shoes! It's good for your health!
sadie flat.jpgI recommend making a stop at Piperlime and browsing the Final Sale section, where many shoes are marked down 70% and some are now even $20 or less. These Pink Studio Sadie Ballet flats are now only $29.97 with 3% cash back. I look at these and ask: when is a ballet flat not appropriate for an outfit? "Very rarely" would be an appropriate answer. And it is a cute "wear with anything" spring shoe for under $30. It's tough to beat a deal like that!

Trying On Shoes.jpgYears of riding crowded city buses have taught me two things. The first is that bus etiquette 101 should be taught in every school, the second is that most people do not pay enough attention to their shoes. While I can only suggest ways to rectify the first offense, the second is quite easily remedied thanks to Shoe Week at Ebates. During this week long fiesta, our savvy shoppers will enjoy increased cash back, amazing sales, and let's not forget about those coupon codes we all love. Below is an insider's guide to making Shoe Week work for you.

Steve Madden Flat.jpgThe festivities begin at Nordstrom's shoe clearance, where you'll save 33-40% on hundreds of styles and enjoy increased cash back (5%) when shopping through Ebates. Take this time to stock up on essentials like comfortable flats, or save on last season staples like a classic riding boot. No matter what shape they take, a flat shoe is every woman's must-have. I love these Steve Madden Skimmers. They combine style with comfort, and at just $45, they're economical too.

timbuk.jpgFor oh so long, the words "technology" and "fashion" have stood at opposite sides of the fashion spectrum. Of course I'm not talking about the big name fashion designers, who have long haphazardly tossed technology into their lines with mixed results. No, I'm talking about the Everyday Man or Woman, who has to carry the burden of their laptop or, heaven forbid, LAN Party PC with them on the go. That's precisely why I was so excited when I saw the Timbuk2 Laptop Messenger you see pictured before you. Not just because it looks good and perfectly fits everything I could ever want in my everyday bag, but because I was able to earn a whopping 6% Ebates cash back getting something that was practically tailor made for laptop commuters everywhere.

It's no secret that Timbuk2 makes a mean messenger bag. As one of the most well-known designers for both commuters and pedestrians alike, Timbuk2 has been churning out quality bags from their San Francisco headquarters since 1989. With space-age materials and superior construction when compared to the competition, these bags will stand the test of time and will even look good while doing it. For these very reasons, I turned straight to Timbuk2 when I decided I needed a travel companion for my 13" MacBook.

Hey there dear readers, I have had a few comments and e-mails here and there about some purchases not tracking correctly due to gift card purchases. This is a common issue with Ebates users, so I figured I'd take a little time this evening to clear up exactly what is going on.

See, many of our merchants consider gift cards to be an exception to any type of discount. I can speak personally from my years of experience in retail when I say that many retail establishments don't even offer employee discounts on gift cards, since there is no type of markup or profit on the sale of them. Therefore, it is somewhat rare to find merchants who are willing to offer cash back or discounts on gift certificates.

But don't give up hope, gentle readers! You can still give yourself a little gift of cash back when you buy gift certificates for your friends, you just need to make sure they are in the list of pre-approved merchants who offer cash back savings on gift cards. So show someone you really care while earning a little cash back on the sly!

In life there are several things I must have. Without a glass (or two) of wine before a flight or my morning java fix, I just may spontaneously combust. Either that or become a terribly sour person. When it comes to fashion, my must-have list changes as much as the trends, but there is one thing I can not and will not live without: getting cash back on the trendiest items for Spring.

HSN Patent Tote.jpgLast Spring I was all about hippie chic, and although dressing like I had just returned from Woodstock was extremely comfortable (read: lazy), my friends convinced me that my look was more hobo than boho. This year I'm striving for a more polished look, but a troubled economy means I'll need to focus on my bank account first. The key to changing your style in hard economic times relies upon a few good pieces. This Patent Tote by High Fashion Handbags is a perfect example a must have for any fashionista on a budget: the versatile statement bag. It features a removable shoulder strap and combines Spring's bold palette with a classic nautical vibe. I envision wearing this bag with the perfect little black dress and oversized sunglasses for a classic Euro chic look. Priced at just $89, this tote won't break the bank, but it will break my old and tired style.

In a time when you can barely get out of bed without being bombarded with bad news, it's good to take a moment to smell the roses, or, in this case, enjoy the bountiful savings at Old Navy!

NavyStripeCrossbody.jpgShop the Old Navy Fundamentals Sale, where you will find staggering deals on all life's little necessities: basic tees for $5, men's cargo shorts for under $15, and jeans for only $19, plus more savings for the entire family. I have had my eye on this perfect Spring cross-body hobo for a while now. Priced at an extremely modest $12.50 with 2% cash back, it is the the ideal Spring bag that is as perfect for my wardrobe as it is for my budget. I am partial to the navy stripe and have one waiting in my shopping bag as we speak (or quite literally as I write). With the nautical trend that is so big this season and the practicality of a cross-body bag, the $12.50 is money well spent. I get a warm and fuzzy feeling just thinking about getting a good deal without sacrificing style. Share the joy and shop on!

ihome.jpgToday marks the start of Daylight Savings Time for most folks across the United States, and whether you like it or not, it's officially time to "spring forward." In other words, we're attempting to hit the hay earlier and inevitably wake up groggier - all in the name of sunlight. Pretty valiant, huh? Or course, if you're like most of us you aren't getting up every day with the help of your "internal clock" anyways, so why not upgrade your alarm clock for something truly nice.  Something extra awesome, with outstanding sound and iPod/iPhone connectivity? If so, the iHome is perfect for you - and only $85 with 1% Ebates cash back from Buy.com!

Even though losing an hour in the name of sunlight may be a great thing on paper, it's not always the easiest thing for me to do. Between remembering to set the darn clock, planning to get up an hour earlier than I'd ever like to, and getting the correct day right, Daylight Savings Time can cause an absolute mess if done wrong. That's why the iHome is such a great little device: it has an easy "DST" setting to "spring" your clock for you. On top of the easy-set nature of the iHome, it also comes with a ton of features to get you up in the morning. With two separate alarms and multiple "source" options to wake to - and snooze to - the iHome is great for almost everyone.

Greetings readers, and happy Saturday, I've got an exciting bit of news for all of you about the upcoming week... here at Ebates, it's Shoe Week! Starting Monday, you'll find all sorts of great savings on a wide array of shoe merchants. Monday we've got a special teaser Daily Double: Shoes.com is going to be bumping their cash back all the way up to 16% - that's a tasty little meatball of savings, if you ask me. Want to make that saving a little more savory? Well then, you need to be sure you enter coupon code MSAVE when you check out, because that will allow you to take an extra 20% off your shoe purchases throughout the month of March. I'd tell you the figures of just how much you'd save off the original price, but unfortunately, I was never all that fantastic at math. However, with the hopes that I'll make my high school stats teacher proud, I believe your total combined savings hovers somewhere around 32%, but don't quote me on that.

shoes_328125.jpgThen, starting Tuesday and running through the rest of the week, all the way up through the 16th, we will be rapt in shoe savings all across the site. gpod1.jpgThere's something about the Joby Gorillapod that makes it just a little...creepy. Our lovable Cap'n Blog, Bill, and I can't quite pin what makes this magical, multi-jointed tripod so odd. But as anyone who has actually used one of these beastly devices knows, you truly cannot beat the Gorrillapod if you ever need to take a picture hands-free. And even though they can be pricey little suckers, Target has a great grey one (in large) for only $49.99 - with an extra 4% Ebates cash back!

The Gorillapod is neither a primate, nor a device to escape peril within. Instead, it's an outstanding, multi-jointed tripod that lets you pose your pictures precisely how you'd like them, with reckless abandon for level surfaces or rocky surroundings. Thanks to its multitude of grippy joints, you can bend and pose the Gorillapod to take stationary pictures practically anywhere or - as you can see from the picture on the side - on practically anything. It supports the largest SLRs and most Video Cameras with ease, and is extra lightweight and super portable so you can take it with you practically everywhere.

In the end, if you ever need to set up a shot somewhere, the Gorillapod is a necessary addition to anyone's gear bag. As always, check back every day for the best coupons, deals, and gadgets you can get cash back on - only at Ebates!

Always one step ahead of the gauntlet, we Ebates bloggers are thinking Spring when it's pouring rain and frigid outside in San Francisco and snowing across the country. This means, much to my chagrin, that it is absolutely not sandal weather (unless you are one of those people for whom flip flops substitute for rain boots) or any other springtime garment or footwear for that matter. So we can talk Spring, and we can think Spring, we can even plaster Spring across the blog, but it surely feels like Winter, even if the calendar says something different. We have three weeks until Spring officially starts, and I am not holding my breath for nicer weather and milder temperatures.

LPDomeBracelets.jpgI need some way to observe the changing of the seasons even if I am wearing winter boots and piling on heavy coat & scarf for the millionth day in a row.  Since I know for a fact, that I am not the only person feeling desperate for a palpable season change, I figured it was my duty to find something we can all wear that says Spring even when the weather won't participate.

I found the perfect antidote to Winter's gloom at a new Ebates merchant: Linea Pelle. The brand has been an industry leader for fashion forward leather goods, belts (for women and men alike), and handbags. I discovered this Spring Three-Pack Studded bracelets set, available for $65, 5% cash back and with 10% off with coupon code CJLP10. Presented in luxurious, washed Italian leather and in hot hues, they are undeniably Spring and will add a little joy to the drab Winter weather. Plus, they are a great deal; keep them all and add a little flair to your wrists $65, or split them up between friends and pay just under $20 each when you use the coupon offered.

hp-mini-1000-roundup.jpgWhen it comes to netbooks, I can't help but preach about how important it is for them to have as big a keyboard as possible. As a person who's tried out multiple netbooks only to be disappointed by their minuscule type areas, I have to say that there are two real choices if you really want to comfortably work on your computer: the HP Mini/Mini Note, and the Sony Vaio P. While the latter may be a little pricier than most might want to pay for a netbook, the HP Mini is currently on sale at OnSale for only $309 with 2% cash back from Ebates. That's a price that's perfect for everyone!

The HP Mini is basically a black version of everyone's favorite HP Mini-Note that saw limited release last year as a clever alternative to its pricey aluminum cousin. Even though it debuted at a price that hovered around $700, there were always a few rebates to be had here and there to bring the price down a little more. However, I've never seen such a great deal on this tiny, refurbished computer - especially when it comes with Windows XP, 1GB RAM, and a spacious 60GB hard drive.

Greetings good readers, and do I have some exciting news for you this morning -- for seventy two hours Gap.com is running an Ebates-exclusive coupon offer: simply enter the coupon code EBATES20 at checkout, and you will receive an extra 20% off your order at Gap.com.
gap_logo.jpgBefore I continue, let me be perfectly clear on what this savings applies to. When you enter this coupon code, it will apply only to Men's, Women's, and Maternity. This means that you will not get 20% off GapKids or BabyGap. Naturally, that means you will also not receive any discounts outside of the regular everyday low prices on Old Navy, Banana Republic, or Piperlime. When we say Gap.com, we mean Gap.com.

Now that we've gotten those specifics out of the way, let's step back and think about what kinds of great deals you can get from Gap...

Those who have read my blog know that I've dubbed myself the Deal Hunting Diva. Although quite bold, the name has more to do with saving money than with throwing phones at assistants. Any attitude or feeling of self-entitlement is directed toward overpriced goods, and not those who fetch my daily coffee. Now there's a fantasy.

Black Halo Jumpsuit.jpgMy obsession with designers on a discount stems from the belief that no label or price tag is too good for the sale bin. Eventually everything gets marked down and shipped to stores catering to discounted goods. While this is all fine and well, the process involves constantly hitting the pavement and waiting (always waiting) for sales. Thanks to Ebates, I no longer have to brave the elements or wait in line. With the help of my partner in crime, the Coupons Page, I have taken my money saving skills and gone cyber. Case in point: the Black Halo Jumpsuit from Couture Candy.

I had a thought this morning en route to work (public transportation is a surprising muse): instead of writing blog posts as an ode to Sephora and their vast collection of goodies, I should begin a collection of sonnets, as that could be a more appropriate way to pay homage to one of my favorite beauty destinations. Although this would be quite entertaining (and not in an "isn't she amazing" way), I think I will spread the joy the best way we here at Ebates know how: with a blog and a cash back increase for the month of march from 6% to 8%! That extra 2%, along with a multitude of coupons, like free shipping on orders of $35+ with code SHIP35 or a deluxe sample of Fresh Umbrian Clay Face Treatment with code FRESH at checkout, the savings and also the items in your shopping cart surely pile up.

KineraseBlemishDissolver.jpgMy most recent purchase and current obsession is Kinerase Clear Skin Blemish Dissolver, $39. The price is a bit steep, but it is honestly worth every penny (plus you will get free shipping and earn $3.12 in cash back), because it works amazingly well and it is the only product you need to treat skin eruptions. This is the product for people who have sensitive skin with problem areas or the occasional blemish. I have used it for just two days on a small blemish, post-blemish mark, and some blackheads, all of which have dramatically diminished. What was originally a mid-day impulse buy turned out to be one of my favorite purchases, and one that I would recommend that any woman have in their beauty arsenal. Use it twice a day, even on the go, and watch the blemishes dissolve...

sony-vaio-p.jpgNowadays, laptops are getting smaller and smaller - is there really any end in sight? With Netbooks and iPhones, tablet PCs, and UMPCs, it seems like we'll soon be able to have a full-powered computer in our pockets with no noticeable difference between that magical device and an overpowered desktop. While the Sony Vaio P won't completely replace your desktop just yet, it does stand out as a contender for the perfect "pocket" PC. Weighing in at only 1.4 pounds with an 8", 1600x768 widescreen display, the Sony Vaio P just might be the perfect computer for anyone looking to take their notebook with them everywhere.

When I first held the Sony Vaio P in my hands a few days ago, I couldn't help but be impressed by its ridiculously small form-factor. "How do they do it?" I thought, as this tiny PC (which is less than an inch thick) has enough mettle to power Windows Vista off of less than two gigs of ram - a feat in itself! Equally impressive is the Vaio P's sturdy nature. Even though I knew it was thin and packed a 8" mini-widescreen display, it never felt like it was going to buckle under normal usage or pressure. It's a well made, well-oiled machine that has a huge ace up its sleeve: its keyboard. While other Netbooks skimp on the keyboard size in order to save space, all that the Vaio P is made of is keyboard. No touchpad, no gimmick - just a comfortable keyboard that you can actually use for day-to-day tasks. What a novel concept!

The digital age has had a huge effect on the way we approach picture taking. I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers having to make sure you had that shot lined up perfectly so you didn't waste a single shot, then waiting weeks until you got your roll of film developed before you could be certain that the picture came out just the way you hoped it would. With the increasing popularity of the digital camera, film developing is becoming a thing of the past, and we can now take pictures freely, knowing we can comb through our memory card after the fact to find those few pictures that you really want to print.

bigfatfun.jpgThere has also been a change in how you print photos: while many people print their photos at home on higher-end color printers, there are many of us for whom the convenience of ordering prints online while earning cash back is just too great to consider anything else. While I'm not exactly an avid photographer, I love having pictures around to remind me of good times, see how much my friends and family have changed over the years, and remind myself that there is always someone with a camera nearby whenever I embarrass myself. (see left) So, in the spirit of saving you money when ordering prints online, here are three merchants who will earn you double-digit cash back on online photo printing.

As the weather continues to warm up, albeit very slowly, my focus has shifted from trying to survive winter to preparing for Spring. Just like a pedicure is essential for warm weather, so is a de-winterized home. When money is tight, redesigning your home can seem like a costly luxury. The trick to designing on a budget is putting your money into things that create the biggest change but for the least amount of money.

Two major trends that are popping up in home design this Spring are the use of bold colors and an emphasis on green living. As the world grows smaller, cultures from around the world are heavily influencing design, especially in regards to color. Home decor magazines often show houses that look as if they've been transformed into a Moroccan bazaar or a Mexican hacienda. The most cost-effective way to channel the vibrancy of these cultures is with a new coat of paint. Like many household products, paint has seen a greening effect. Many companies are now making a conscious effort to reduce toxic ingredients such as Volatile Organic Compounds. The Freshaire Choice is one company that eliminated VOC's from both paint and colorant. Their paint has no odor, and is certified by the GreenGuard Environmental Institute. You'll find this safe alternative at Home Depot where you'll also receive 3% cash back from Ebates. With over sixty colors to choose from, you'll have no trouble finding the perfect shade for your interiors.

Vaseline.jpgRunning late for work on Friday morning, I arrived at my desk, ready to greet the day with coffee in hand and surprising feelings of early-morning, pre-weekend optimism despite my rushing and lethargy. After tackling some work, I checked a mirror and realized that in my rushing around I had forgotten to apply mascara, the ultimate feel-good beauty product, which can transform a face from looking sleepy and over-tired into looking at least somewhat put together. As much as I don't like a too made up face for the daytime, it's nice to at least look like you attempted to pull yourself together for a day at work. I quickly recalled a magazine article, featuring a beauty expert (whose name escapes me at the moment) that recommended applying Vaseline to eyelashes as a makeshift mascara for ladies who had either found themselves in my position or who wanted the most natural look. I reached for my trusty tube of Vaseline (travel size - an amazing little must have, f.y.i) that finds its home in the pen holder on my desk, and I applied liberally to the top and bottom lashes. Viola! I looked like I had the separation and glossy after-effect of a quick coat of mascara. It did not leave me with dramatic peepers, but definitely added something extra to make my eyes appear more awake. Pleased with the result, decided to stockpile tubes of Vaseline, in case I am ever without.

I got a great deal, from drugstore.com with 6% cash back on each tube that cost a mere $3.29. Adding the current drugstore.com Coupon/BOGO sale into the equation, where all Vaseline products are buy one get one 50% off, I got enough Vaseline to coat my lashes at every place my day takes me for under $10. Use this affordable multi-tasker as a highlighter on cheekbones, add it a powder blush for a more natural, radiant look, or to eyelids for a young-fresh looking glow!
