kiehlsmistJust as difficult as buying a gift for someone when you have no idea what to get them, is when you need to buy a gift for someone and you have too many options. This is the problem I run into when I need to buy my mom a gift. Because we share similar interests and I know exactly what her taste is, I see things all the time that I want her to have. Another layer of difficulty results from our  Mother's Day promotion. With twelve of my favorite stores offering increased cash back and coupons for extra savings, I had so many options for places to get the right thing. Before I started shopping, I needed to have a gift in mind to avoid being completely overwhelmed. Luckily, one of my favorite blogs, Refinery 29 had the perfect Mother's Day Gift Guide to help me in my hunt. They featured this Jeff Koons for Kiehl's Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist (proceeds go to support the Rainforest Alliance), avaliable at Nordstrom for $26 and with 5.0% Cash Back. This Limited-Edition product is avaliable in four collectible bottles designed by Jeff Koons ( as pictured left) Malia Jones, Julianne Moore or Pharell Williams.

Not only is the bottle a piece of art and the product inside truly amazing, but my mom will love that the money that paid for her gift went to a great cause. I personally love a toning spray for the warmer months as they make a great mid-day skin refresher and prep the face for sunscreen and makeup. I know my mom will love it too and because it is full of the best organic certified ingredients, I will know its good for her too. Alas! I found the perfect gift!

free shipping coupons
I can't believe it's almost May. Can you? Really? I mean, just the other day I was celebrating my birthday, but now that I look at a calendar, that was over two months ago. Worst of all, I don't even know where the time went. Luckily, regardless of what week or month I think it to be, no matter how I may lose track of time, I am always brought back to the here and now by Free Shipping Friday. I also feel obliged to mention that you can find some amazing deals for mom in our Mother's Day Promotion, where we have increased cash back at some of our most popular merchants.

As it is the last day of the month, I won't try to pick out any particular deals to highlight; if I tried to find the ones I thought were worth a good mention, I could be here all night. So instead, I've provided you a few links to the comprehensive list of about-to-expire free shipping coupons here at Ebates. Take a look for yourself, and keep an eye out, a lot of these stores that currently have free shipping offers allow you to combine them with other deals or coupons on their site!

Shop PR at Bluefly!
Today is Thursday which can only mean one thing: it's time for a Project Runway recap! By now all you PR fans know that Seth Aaron was the lucky winner. Rightfully so, since his collection was contemporary, yet still retained that high fashion design. Of course being that it's nearly May, shopping clothes with the same aesthetic as his collection is a little tricky, but Bluefly makes it easy with a complete section dedicated to pieces that coincide with his runway looks. So now you can shop the runway and get 3.5% Cash Back. Not bad!

Raleigh SandalBecause Seth Aaron has won several challenges- thus has been mentioned in this blog on numerous occasions- showing another striped shirt or zipper eccentric jacket seems a bit been there done that. Instead I found another way to channel his punk style. Shoes! His love of exposed zippers goes along with Spring sandals like these Raleigh Sandals by Dolce Vita. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue these shoes feature buckles, straps, and a back zipper, all with a punk inspired (but still posh) look. I prefer these in brown, but if Seth Aaron's model were to wear them I'm sure he would choose black. I'm envisioning myself wearing these with my black skinnies and a sailor tee, or with my vintage Levi's and this plaid top. Which I just bought yesterday! But regardless of what outfits I come up with I'll get 2.5% Cash Back and a stylish upgrade to my shoe collection.

Tebow JerseyIt's now exactly one week after the opening round of the NFL draft, and despite the fact that training camp is still about two months away, from a sales standpoint, there is one clear winner this season: the Denver Broncos and their rookie quarterback, Tim Tebow.

Without having thrown a pass, or even wearing the jersey in practice, Tebow's jersey has set a record for the hottest selling rookie jersey in history, topping Mark Sanchez's sales from last year when he was the fifth overall pick. The New York Daily News reports that the jersey has been "flying off the shelves" over the past week, and as the article sites, NFL Shop is the spot to pick up this gem. Luckily for you, NFL Shop is an Ebates merchant, and they currently offer 6.0% Cash Back on all purchases. That means not only can you get your hands on one of these fine Tebow jerseys, you can get about $5 in cash back, which is nothing to scoff at. Not to mention NFL Shop is sweetening the deal with a coupon for free shipping on orders over $75.

Naturally, you can get get a jersey of pretty much any of the new rookie class to come out of the first round, so if you're not a fan of the Broncos or Tebow, and you'd rather have a jersey from your hometown pick, you can still get a great deal with 6.0% Cash Back!

In the world of fashion there is one major event which insights excitement and joy into the hearts of so many shoppers. Of course I'm talking about the Friends and Family Sale. This time it's Macys who is having the sale of a lifetime, and if I may say so, is killing the competition with 25% off plus free shipping on $99+ orders. From now until May 3rd you'll save on Spring must haves like espadrilles, dresses, lively home decor, and don't forget gifts for mom! Just use code MACYSAFF to enjoy substantial savings. Before you head off to shop, I should also mention that because Macys is part of our Mother's Day promotion you'll get double cash back of 6.0%. Three ways to save is what I call a fashion triple threat!

Shop Savvy at Macys!A few months ago I blogged about a favorite shirt of mine that I've been coveting for months, yet haven't purchased simply because I can't justify spending $100 on a button down shirt. Well wouldn't you know it, Macys has the same shirt but on sale for $68. Subtract 25% and I can now buy this shirt for half off the original price! Because I wanted to get free shipping, I decided to pack a few other items onto my list such as a spiked cuff for $22, and these Studio M Leggings for $19.98. Also similar to a pair I was coveting, again, which I have not purchased due to overpricing. The moral of this story (besides encouraging you to earn double cash back and save 25%) is to shop savvy. See an item you can't live without but don't want to spend a fortune? Shop Macys and you too may get lucky!

Unless you've been living under a rock for the last few months, chances are you've heard a thing or two about the iPad, the latest Apple device to send shock waves through the tech community (other than the 4G iPhone, but that's a matter for the courts right now). It seems like the reception is still generally split at the moment: some people think that the new gizmo is going to change the face of how we as a culture view computing and doodad toting, while the opposing camp says "it's just another pretty apple product for people to spend money on." Only time will tell who is correct.

Now, you may have noticed that at the moment, we are unable to offer cash back on the iPad. Unfortunately, when Apple has a hot new product like this, they don't need any help in moving them, so they aren't likely to offer any incentives (like cash back). So in the interest of you wonderful cash back lovers, I spent a little time over at Newegg finding a pair of tablet PC options that you could get 1.5% Cash Back on to sweeten the deal. I'm not saying that any of them has the sexy Apple interface or the ever-powerful app store behind them, but still, if you're hankering to start poking at your computer's screen, these won't poke at your wallet quite as much.

ASUS tabletFirst is the ASUS Eee PC T101MT-EU17-BK 10.1" Tablet. I went with this one rather than it's "little brother" 8.9 inch version for the fact that a lot of people seemed to have issues with the smaller keyboard, and I have giant monkey hands that would make maneuvering a small keyboard near impossible. It seems like the only drawbacks of this machine is that it runs at best with Windows 7 Premium and an extra 1gb of RAM. Other than that, it's a sleek convertible netbook/tablet with a built in camera that so many people seem to be clamoring for. Plus, it's just $489.99 with free shipping at Newegg.

The other is the lenovo IdeaPad S10-3t. Lenovo Ideapad S10 3t
Interestingly, many of the reviews for this say many of the same things that reviewers said about the ASUS - the main gripe was with the lack of out-of-the-box RAM and the fact that it is bundled with Windows 7 Starter rather than Premium. Other than that, it is another smooth running tablet-functional option with a full keyboard and a camera allowing for video chat. Plus, with a 250gb hard drive, you've got a whole lot more storage space than some of the competitors at a competitive price of $489.99.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from an iPad, I personally am not a tablet guy one way or the other, so I bring this from a completely unbiased angle. I just wanted some of you folks out there to know that there are other options that you can earn cash back on when you shop with us here at Ebates.

Flip through the pages of any fashion magazine and you will see editorials on the "Denim Trend" this Spring. For someone who wears denim about 75% of the time, it's funny because saying denim is a trend is like saying pants are in fashion. Actually, the more I think about it, most fashion magazines would claim this when pants have their moment in the spotlight. But I digress, this season denim is more prominent than ever. Whether it be a chambray shirt or some super-distressed rocker chic pants, denim is big this year and that means it is time for me to break it down for you, dear Ebateable reader. One way to do the trend is with a chambray shirt. I wrote about a good one here at JCrew.com. Wear a chambray shirt with a feminine floral skirt, black skinny pants or really go for the classic look with a white pair of pants. Another big trend are " Jeggings" ( jeans + leggings = jeggings). While I loathe that name, I think it is a good way to contrast more voluminous tops or to highlight a cute pair of warm-weather sandals without the awkwardness and sheerness of a traditional legging or the bulky weight of jeans.jeansMy pick are these from JBrand available at Tobi with 2.5% Cash Back and free shipping. The great thing about these is they have a higher rise and are the perfect weight for Spring's warmer temperatures. I have worn mine practically everyday since they arrived. They are so comfortable, fit like a glove and are appropriate for the office, cocktail hour or even running around on the weekends.

Stay tuned for more Spring trends and in the meantime, load up on cash back in our clothing category

Mother's Day is always a tricky shopping holiday; if your mom is anything like mine, there's almost nothing at all that she needs, yet you don't want to appear like you're too cheap by getting her something simple like flowers (I personally think flowers make a great gift, but that could just be me). This year, you can look to your friends here at Ebates to help you out - we are offering some great increased cash back at our Mother's Day Sale. One of the merchants that I always seem to find new and unique things at is HSN. See, I don't watch much TV (other than Glee, of course) so everything I see on HSN is complete news to me; I only hear about their sales and deals on their website.

Double Cash Back at HSNI tell you this much: when I do take the time to look at their products, I am usually impressed with both the quality and the prices on both sale items and even the regular-priced items. They carry a great selection of celebrity and designer-made jewelry, clothing, housewares, decor items, and even a respectable amount of electronics for the tech-savvy moms out there (or their computer-loving offspring). Best of all, each of these products comes with 4.0% Cash Back all the way up until Mother's Day. It's May 9th for all you folks keeping track at home, and for those of you who like to figure shipping deadlines.

Another thing to love about HSN is the array of coupons they have to offer; as you look at their coupons page, it seems like there is an almost endless list of $10 off coupons, free shipping deals, and deals directed strictly at first-time shoppers at their site, so if you haven't shopped there yet, you can really make out like a bandit on your first order. Just take a peek at all the HSN coupons we have to offer over at Ebates.

My love of tee shirts is really nothing new. I say I need blouses, I buy blouses and I swear off the "expensive tees". But, again and again, I go back to the tee. Primarily, it is because tees are what I feel comfortable in and I love the look of a perfectly worn-in tee shirt with pretty much anything. Blame it on my California roots or my unwavering need to be comfortable, whatever it is, I need to look relaxed to feel relaxed. So when it comes to dresses, I either have silky minis splenidimaxior nothing at all. Luckily, a huge trend for Spring is jersey dresses. From racerback maxi dresses to one-shouldered mini's, most every style of dress is avaliable in soft and chic jersey this season.  Piperlime has a huge selection of jersey dresses to stock up on for Spring and  for the Summer. One of my favorites is this Splendid Maxi Dress for $98 with 2.0% Cash Back and free shipping. This dress works as a perfect bathing suit cover up, is great for travel and is ideal for unpredictable weather because you can layer it so many ways.

Another option is this affordable and chic Drapey Wrap Dress for just $75. Worn with flip-flops or even heeled sandals, this dress has endless possibilities when you change up accessories. Plus, its very forgiving, soft and comfortable.

Hard to believe Mother's Day is almost here when it feels like Christmas wasn't that long ago. I'm not stressed though because for starters I've got plenty of time, and second, Ebates Mother's Day Promotion is going on. So that means from now until May 9th I'll get up to double cash back at 12 amazing stores - like Nordstrom. Perfect considering despite having plenty of time to shop, I'll wait until the very last second.

Bernardo SandalMother's Day shopping in my family has always been on the non traditional side of things. Sure there are flowers (which I'll be sure to order from ProFlowers so I can get 12.0% Cash Back) but instead of chocolates, pendant necklaces and the like, I've always given my mother things she can use, or actually wants.

In typical mom fashion, my mother can be known to harp on me for my spending habits, yet turn around and say "ooh, where did you get those shoes? Can I borrow them?" Of course I oblige, because well, she's my mom, but to be honest I don't enjoy being without items I bought for a reason. Take these Bernardo Sandals for example. A year ago I purchased these and as soon as my mother saw them she was asking to borrow them. Well she's still in love with them, but this year when she's about to ask, I'll promptly say no, and hand her a shoe box instead. I envision the rejection on her face being turned into curiosity followed by joy. Being able to surprise her with something she has truly wanted is a great feeling. Getting 5.0% Cash Back feels pretty good too.

logoAs a participant in our Mother's Day Promotion, Lancôme has increased their cash back to a staggering 12.0%, which is exciting enough. But, in addition to their double-digit cash back they also have an coupon (code: SPRINGBEAUTY) for free shipping on any order and a free samples of Juicy Tubes and mascara with any purchase (hurry, ends tonight!). If you have gifts to get but are not sure what to buy, have no fear: Lancôme has a gift guide to help you out. Buying a luxurious gift set from Lancôme sends the right message-you want to show them you appreciate their contribution to your life and give them something that will make them feel pampered and special. Choose from one of Lancôme's coveted Fragrance sets, specially priced for Mother's Day will full-size products that will relax and pamper for days to come.giftsetMy pick is this classic Hypnose Senses Captivate Perfume Set, for $52.50 (an $88 value). If you are any kind of sports fan, this weekend has got to be about the busiest weekend of the year. Just look at what you can be watching: The NFL Draft, the NHL Playoffs, the NBA Playoffs, the Aarons 499 Nascar race in the Sprint Cup Series, the PGA Tour's Zurich Classic, and my beloved Red Devils of Manchester United are playing Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday as the Barclay's Premiership is beginning to wind down. Oh, and don't forget that there are about two dozen baseball games going on too. Needless to say, I won't be seeing the sun too much this weekend, and I couldn't be any happier about it.

ESPN ShopSo, whether you are looking to wear your team colors to support them on their run to the playoffs, urge them on to the championships, or if you just want to be the first person on your block with the jersey for your teams #1 pick in the draft, you need to start your search at ESPN Shop. Personally speaking, I am a big fan of the idea that one ESPN writer had regarding those of us who love irony (and apologies to you Detroit fans out there): I want to buy a Jahvid Best jersey because it's probably the only time you'll see any Lions paraphernalia that has the word "Best" written anywhere on it!

But seriously, the ESPN Shop has a wonderful selection of gear, collectibles, even a wide array of ESPN DVD features, all available with 2.5% Cash Back. Just make sure you click through Ebates first, and you'll be right on your way. Here's a handy tip from someone with a ton of experience in both watching sports on TV and shopping online: fire up your game of choice, plop down on the couch with your laptop, and do a little shopping while watching the game! It's the best of both worlds! Plus you'll be getting cash back while watching TV.

Tim Gunn on a trampoline, Emilio fights back, and Jay and Mila square off. The remaining 4 contestants are given four months and $9000 to create their line which will debut at Bryant Park during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. After a gorgeous presentation from both Mila and Jay, Mila ended up winning the third spot. Although both designers had their own aesthetic, their overall style does share some common links. Both lines have an edgy feel with dark colors, contrasting fabrics, and asymmetrical tailoring. Principles which are seen in many fashion designers today.

Because the designers were creating a Fall collection, shopping these looks in Spring may take a little bit of hunting. Not to worry PR fans, plenty of designers like Akris, Helmut Lang, and Rag and Bone offer sharp pieces just like the ones pictured above. I've also included both warm and cold weather options.

Mackage CoatCold Weather
Not surprising, shopping for cold weather coats is a tricky endeavor when it's nearly May. Unlike most stores Bluefly carries an extensive collection of everything, including outerwear. This Wool Jacket from Mackage has the same starched military collar as Jay's runway look and has a pleated swing back that is reminiscent of Mila's looks. Selling for 40% off the retail price, you'll get 3.5% Cash Back and have access to the same accessories displayed on the ever so famous Bluefly Accessory Wall.

DVF Studded TankWarm Weather
Sleek, black clothing isn't impervious to Summer's charm. Tank tops, ripped denim, sky high gladiators, and distressed sweaters are just few examples of how this trend can shine through regardless of season. This Studded Tank from Diane Von Furstenberg combines an asymmetrical print with silver and black studs. To me this look is more Mila then Jay, but I think it's safe to say both designers would agree this tank is incredibly sexy and so appropriate for a warm night on the town. Right now it's on sale, plus you'll save an additional 20% off at Saks Fifth Avenue with code FRIENDS3. Add in 2.5% Cash Back for being an Ebates member, and say farewell to Season 7 of Project Runway, but hello to savings.

Exclusivity is never frowned upon in certain circles. From private sale sites to member only coupons, in the world of shopping it's better when you're part of the club. Of course no one knows this like Ebates members. Not only do they get special insights to the latest and biggest sales, but they also get exclusive coupons. Being that today is Earth Day, it only made sense for Ebates to team up with drugstore.com and present our VIP members with a coupon that can help save mother earth, as well as the other green. Cash Back!

From now until April 26th, you'll save $5 off orders of $30 in the green/natural category at drugstore. Whether you're a seasoned eco-head or brand new to the world of natural and organic products, you'll earn 6.0% Cash Back when shopping at drugstore. In the spirit of today I thought I'd share some of my favorite natural items, from household cleaning products to hair and skin care.

Ecover Cream ScrubHousehold Cleaning
If you have ever taken a moment to decipher the ingredients in your favorite cleaner you'll find some pretty nasty stuff. Bleach, ammonia, petro-chemicals (meaning they're derived from oil products) and other carcinogenic ingredients are common place in just about every household cleaning product. But this doesn't have to be! Did you know Apple Cider Vinegar can clean dirty floors and give you shiny hair? Or that the acids found in citrus fruit can do a mean job cleaning soap scum as well supply you with vitamin C? Mother Nature is more powerful than we think, so toss out those toxin filled bottles and use cleaners like Ecover Ecological Cream Scrub. Made with ingredients you can pronounce (water, clay) this cleaner has plant based and biodegradable components, and will still clean the heck out of your bathroom and kitchen.

SeventhGenerationPaper Goods.

Conventional baby wipes, toilet paper, diapers, and tampons are all made from cotton which is grown using toxic pesticides, then bleached with chlorine. This means every time you use them your body is ingesting these pesticides and toxins into your blood stream. Now that you know the ugly truth, get smart and buy eco-friendly products from Seventh Generation. They're made with 100% organic cotton and are free of synthetic dyes and perfumes. This brand also makes biodegradable cleaners, laundry detergents, and other household products.

Kiss My FaceSkin and Body Care
A few years ago I made the switch to all natural beauty products and save for my favorite blue mascara and eyebrow powder, my beauty regime gets a green stamp. Of course like everything in life finding the perfect skin care products involves trial and error, and of the hundreds that I've tried, there are a few I swear by. A recent addition to my favorites is Kiss My Face Jojoba and Mint Facial Scrub. After having a bout of acne, I've renewed my commitment to exfoliating, and this creamy scrub stands out from others. Just one use and my complexion was brighter, my skin was softer, and overall I looked as if I just had a mild peel. Considering I wasn't expected these kind of results, I'm pretty impressed all this can cost only $14.99. Some of my other favorite all natural beauty brands are MyChelle, Alba, Jason, and Skin By Monica. Their Perfection C Cream gives just the right amount of moisture to my oily prone skin.

There you have it. A few ways to go green, help save our environment, and stock up on cash back! For more tips check out the Shop Green category at Ebates!

Thank goodness  shopping at Ebates keeps me in the loop and I discovered that Saks Fifth Avenue is having their Friends and Family Sale with 20% off sitewide and 10% off beauty and fragrance, free shipping over $200 ( coupon stacking, baby) and of course 2.5% Cash Back. Levi'sIt was with little fanfare that we added Levi's to the fold of Ebates merchants. I personally can't understand why, because come on, it's Levi's -- the first name in American denim. Not only are they recently added, but they are offering a solid 4.0% Cash Back on everything from their denim to corduroys, slim fit to big and tall. Let me also say for the record, being of the big & tall persuasion, shopping websites like Levi's is the best way to make sure you can find the fit, wash, and style you want in your size.

For the ladies, there is an excellent interface where you can browse by waist, wash, or by what kind of leg you want from your jeans, in addition to shirts, shorts, jackets, vests, and a whole host of various denim options in both plus and petite sizes.

The entire Levi's site is a wealth of information regarding denim: you can find fit charts, trend outlines, and the Levi's "Explore" blog. Their blog is an amazing collection of information: you can find Levi's in fashion editors' picks and look books, Spring fashion trends, and even behind-the-scenes video of new seasonal lines. If that doesn't inspire you to do a little denim searching of your own, I don't know what will!

Just remember, that once you get your denim inspiration, find that perfect style and wash that you're looking for, and get ready to make a purchase, don't forget to click through Ebates first to get 4.0% Cash Back on that pair of jeans you've been waiting for!

Moroccan-DecorFor those of you always on the hunt for inspiration, Flicker is a great source of photos featuring fashion, design, and everything in between. My latest search for the perfect rug lead me to this photo, and like all image related searches, it prompted a surge of ideas. Thank goodness Ebates has online rebates at over 1200 stores, because when I get one of my shopping itches, there's no telling how much I can spend!

Turkish-RugAlways a sucker for ethnic decor such as woven kilims, kalagas, and Moroccan pottery, I knew the perfect rug for my home had to be something with a hint of the middle east. This Turkish Hand Knotted Rug from eBay features an energetic combination of pink, yellow, and red, mixed with a traditional pattern. The contrast between tradition and funky will look great in my living room alongside my vintage wrought iron planter and hand embroidered pillows. Having searched for a rug like this for weeks, I'm well aware of the high cost that can come with buying a unique rug, but this one is just $149.99. I'll receive expedited shipping from Turkey for just $75, but many eBay sellers offer free shipping with purchase. On top of scoring a beautiful rug at an amazing price, I'll also get 2.0% Cash Back by shopping at eBay. Rebates range between 1.0-3.0% Cash Back at eBay.

Salad BowlOf course not everyone is in the market for a new rug, and often it's the smaller objects that really make a room pop. Overstock sells hundreds of Tunisian kitchen goods like this Aqua Fish Salad Bowl, along with water pitchers, dinnerware, and the cutest coffee mugs. Just because these items are labeled as kitchen goods doesn't mean they have to stay hidden in cabinets. With a little creativity they can be used all over your house. A water pitcher makes a great vase, the salad bowl looks chic even when holding keys and mail, and instead of buying small planters for herbs, try the mugs. However way you use these chic items, you'll get 4.0% Cash Back while keeping your home festive. With Summer around the corner, now is the perfect time to lighten up your decor with a few simple pieces. Or many, depending on how much you shop!

Get creative in Home and Garden.

I'm notoriously bad at not watching TV shows when they air. It's kind of silly, since I only religiously watch like four shows, but still, no matter how I try, I can't seem to keep up on them, so I always have to find new ways to catch up on the shows I missed. Back in the good ol' days it was reruns, and I'd wait weeks at a time to catch the episode I missed. Then I finally ponied up and got a VCR and dealt with stacks upon stacks of tapes, all labeled with post-it notes. I still have yet to jump on the DVR bandwagon, mainly because I really prefer the chance to catch up on TV while on the go.

Apple iTunes CouponsThis means my new best friend is iTunes, who has entire libraries of shows, most of which are either $1.99 or $2.99 an episode, with entire seasons available as well. That means even if you can't find a re-run of your favorite show on any of the network websites or any of the most popular video hosting sites, you can still get them online without any hassle. Best of all, you can get 3.0% Cash Back on all your iTunes purchases, so you can get a little extra cash in your pocket just by watching your favorite TV shows and using Ebates!

After spending a little time searching around the store, I am really impressed with some of the more obscure shows that they offer; there are some choice anime titles that really appeal to the geek in me, the entire first season of the A-Team for when I'm feeling nostalgic, and favorites like Deadliest Catch for pretty much any other time I ever want to watch an TV episode and be completely hooked.

True-BloodWith less than 2 months to go until the June 13th premiere of True Blood it's natural to be antsy, and dare I say going through withdrawals. Sure there's been re-runs, marathons, and other chances to watch my favorite show, but watching a single episode satisfies my craving like a single m&m satisfies a sweet tooth. Those who know me are well aware of the crazed mind set that washes over me each Sunday night, yet you may not believe my True Blood beginnings were less than enthusiastic. I was introduced to HBO's newest hit two episodes into the first season. After being told the plot line centered around vampires I quickly dismissed the show, yet found myself watching it just a few days later and was hooked from then on. Truth be told it took me a few episodes to really get "sucked" in, but the staying power of this show is one I've never experienced before. This is especially rare considering I've never been the type who tivo's shows, or someone who can't wait for (insert night) because of a television program. Well times have changed, and in order to present you the reader with the best True Blood advice, I've divided my advice into two groups: Newcomers and Fans.

For those new to True Blood or wondering what all the buzz is about, I implore you to go to HBO Store.com and buy Season 1 on dvd. If buying is too much of a commitment, you can also rent it on Netflix. Then, when you have become obsessed with the lives of the dead and non dead of Bon Temps, you can settle in for bigger treats in Season 2. Of course the only thing to accompany you're new found hobby is the equally drool worthy True Blood Season One Soundtrack. More folk than fantasy, the soundtrack alone will convince fencers to jump, and savvy shoppers will save over ten bucks when they buy the Season One Gift Set complete with season one on dvd, and soundtrack. Regardless of how you get started, you'll get 4.0% Cash Back at HBO Store and $13.00 Cash Back for signing up at Netflix.

True Blood DrinkFans

With no need to convince you of this show's awesomeness, my advice is geared toward making your True Blood Sunday's perfect. For starters you'll need the infamous True Blood Drink. Comprised of mandarin blood orange this drink is the necessary ingredient for your True Blood cocktails, which happen to be conveniently listed on the box. Perhaps more exciting than the tarty taste is the packaging; it's an exact replica of Bill's beloved drink. Besides Sookie of course! Also available for those not wanting a "Dead On The Beach" are Merlot's beer mugs. Sam himself would be use this mug, when he's not running around on all fours that is.

On a final thought, no fan should be without their True Blood clothing. After all, there's no better way to show your love for the show than having it emblazoned across your chest, so do like I've done and represent with Jason's Bon Temps Tee. The last time I wore my interests on a t-shirt it was 1994 and the shirt read "dookie", but just as I was proud to wear it then, I'm proud to sport my pride now.

Eugenia-Kim-for-TargetI've said it once and I'll say it again; not all designer collaborations are worthy of my dollar. Case in point Jean Paul Gaultier's collection currently selling at Target. I had the chance to see this line in person and although I was sadly disappointed, I'm well aware that each designer collaboration is different. As proven by the Jovovich-Hawk dress still hanging in my closet. Design disasters aside, I was overly excited when I read Eugenia Kim is doing a line for Target that hits stores today, April 18th.

Who is Eugenia Kim? Well to be frank she's the most popular milliner since Coco Chanel. This interview with hip business magazine Fast Company is a quick sum of her talents, the likes of which have attracted celebrity followers such as Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz. Celebrity draw is not a reason to shop this collection. The unbeatable price however, is. Eugenia Kim hats typically sell for around $200, but her collection for Target is priced between $14.99-19.99. Factor in 3.0% Cash Back for being an Ebates member and you have successfully combined high fashion with low cost. Job well done!

It is no secret that I am particularly fond of Sephora. With an unprecedented selection of all my favorite beauty brands, it often feels like the closest thing to heaven on earth. Shopping at Sephora through Ebates has helped ease the financial strain because the more I spend, the more cash back I make. And with 4.0% Cash Back on all of my Sephora binges, I have really racked it up. Needless to say, when Sephora had a coupon for 15% off all purchases (coupon code BI15) I had to take advantage. Saving 15% on stuff I would already buy is essentially like earning free money and getting cash back on top of that its like... heaven on earth made better ( did I mention that they offer free shipping on orders of $50 or more too?). ptrmineralI have waited until the last possible minute to buy some Spring skincare essentials because I find more excitement in buying new beauty products rather than replacements. I figure with the coupon, it would be a good time to stock up on some of the regulars in my medicine chest. One of these items ( that actually stays in my purse) is a little expensive but totally worth the price, especially after 15% off. This Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder SPF 45 is the ideal sunscreen for anyone up likes to touch up on the go, for those who travel often, or just for anyone who hates the greasy feeling of a liquid sunscreen.  Each tube lasts quite often and at 15% off, you can save $4.50 and subtract also 4.0% Cash Back ($1.02) and you will save over $5 on this handy, skin-saving essential.

Despite sitting at a desk for most of my work day, I still spend a good portion of the day standing: I stand on the bus (and with SF's public transit system, that can mean an hour to an hour and a half straight to get the few miles home), I stand if I go out to bars or concerts, I stand at band practice, and I stand when I am preparing things in the kitchen. I've noticed recently, however, that I'm not quite as young as I once was, and if I spend a reasonable amount of time on my feet preparing food or washing dishes, my back sometimes stiffens up a little bit. It wasn't anything major - just a little fatigue and discomfort from standing in a small area for such a long time, paired with bending over the sink.

This made me think back to my days as a coffee jockey, where I'd be on my feet at the espresso machine or the cash register for hours at a time without any major negative effects. Granted, that was almost ten years ago, but still there was one thing that I clearly remembered from that experience: floor mats. See, we had these industrial black rubber floor mats that helped our shoes to grip, but also cut down on the wear-and-tear of being on our feet for eight hours a day. I quickly realized that I should get something like that for myself, but couldn't see these ugly-as-can-be mats having any place in my kitchen, so I set out for a more sensible solution. I started where anyone who is serious about their kitchen should: Sur La Table.

Let's Gel Floor MatIt was with very little surprise that moments later, I was checking out the specs on this Gel Pro Chef's Mat by Let's Gel. Now my feet and back couldn't be happier! The non-slip bottom holds the mat perfectly in place right where I need it: right in front of the sink and the cutting board, and the synthetic leather top looks ever so much classier than a black rubber mat (I went with Chestnut Brown, but there are five color choices to best fit your kitchen). Granted, the comfort and convenience doesn't come cheap, as each mat is $99.95, but you can ease that sting a bit with 4.0% Cash Back when you shop through Ebates. Let me also just throw in my two cents: it's worth every penny, and after shelling out about a hundred bucks for the mat, my only regret is that I didn't spend more to get the larger size.

Well this is it fellow PR fans, the last challenge to decide who goes to Fashion Week. Almost. Last week's episode said goodbye to Anthony and sent both Emilio and Seth Aaron to Bryant Park. As for Jay and Mila, they'll have to sew off for that third coveted seat. As for the fashion, it centered around the greatest show on earth. Of course I'm talking about Barnum and Baileys Circus.

Boxy-TeeAlthough the circus themed runway looks were awe inspiring, no one wants to looks like a clown (pun intended), so rather than find an Ebates match for the winning looks, I decided to focus on pieces from the runway that were represented in today's fashion trends. The designers took inspiration from the bold colors and patterns of circus clothing, and if there was anything that stood out, it was the dominance of black and white stripes. I've always love a bold stripe, and I wasn't surprised to find out Bloomingdales does too. In fact they even have a clothing section dedicated to stripes of all sizes and colors. Maybe your wanting to try the much talked about nautical trend. Or maybe you're wanting more of a funky version like this Striped Boxy Tee. A wallet loving $58, this tee has a slouchy fit begging to be worn with this season's form fitting skirts, and of course, your skinny denim. Made of soft cotton you won't have a polyester faux pas but you will make it work. While receiving 3.0% Cash Back of course!

lost logoEven if you have never watched the show Lost, you have likely crossed paths with a Lost Fan. We are, as a whole, opinionated, devoted and quite frankly, we have been put through a lot during the course of the show. Devoted fans such as myself and a few others around here at the office have some differences of opinion regarding how the show has developed over the years and how this the sixth and final season is progressing. With just a few episodes left, I am beginning to wonder how  and if anything will be wrapped up and I am worried that I may be left unsatisfied. I am not alone. Many fans seem to be sharing this same sentiment and the whole thing has me longing for a purer and simpler time in the Lost lifetime, the early days.

Believe it or not, I do not own any Lost episodes on DVD. This is partly because I know I would be sucked in to endless hours of watching and at this point I give up enough of my time just viewing on it television. However, as the end of the final season approaches, I am a bit nostalgic and I think I am ready to bite the bullet and give up a large portion of my weekend to re-watching my pals on the island from beginning to end. I will buy Lost Seasons 1-5 on DVD, earn cash back and get the best price when I shop at eBay through Ebates.

Find all the seasons on Blu-Ray for $159.98 and 3.0% Cash Back or just $122.95 for standard DVD both ship for free.

If you too are feeling nostalgic for a simpler time on Lost or if you would like to see what all the hype is about, pick up the first five seasons on DVD and get the best price, free shipping and earn cash back!

After being bored with the smorgasbord that is Spring trends, I've recently discovered the much needed espadrille flat. Popping up on fashion forward sites like Urban Outfitters, Bloomingdales, Shopbop, and Endless.com, this shoe trend is just the thing I need to spice up my Spring 2009 leftovers. Because I love presenting my readers with options for every budget, here are a few of the many espadrille flats available through Ebates stores.

Tory Burch EspadrilleOn point with this season's nautical trend, these Espadrille Flats by Torry Burch are a preppy take on a surfer classic. Selling for $150, these shoes will earn you $9 or 6.0% Cash Back at Shopbop. I would wear these with last year's ripped white jeans, or with my favorite pair of leggings. Thanks to the metallic flower detail, you can also work these shoes into a more downtown vibe. Just add a white tee and layer up with necklaces.

Pazzo FlatsIf an espadrille fell in love with a ballet flat and had a love child, this would be it. Available at Endless, these Pazzo Flats feature black leather with espadrille trim. Try wearing these with your favorite pair of cuffed boyfriend jeans and a black blazer for a comfy but edgy look. By shopping at Endless you'll receive  6.0% Cash Back as well as free rush delivery. Oh and did I mention these are just $41?

Espadrille OxfordOxford shoes are everywhere this season like these Lace Up Espadrilles by indie designers Deena and Ozzy. The perfect hybrid of oxford and espadrille, this shoe features summery details like a peep toe and canvas upper. So don't be afraid to pair it with the perfect Spring dress! Selling at Urban Outfitters for a very nice price of $28, they're available in 3 colors and you'll receive 2.5% Cash Back. For a fresh alternative to white keds (or Converse) that's a great price!

Glee Box SetOh man, I can't wait. I really can't. I tend not to be too much of an over-enthusiastic nerd when it comes to most anything on TV, but I tell you what, I have been counting down the days until Glee finally returns with new programs. If you watch Glee, chances are you are just as excited as I am about their return from a four month hiatus; if you don't watch Glee, you really should. Like, really should.

For those of you who want to catch up on what you missed so far, don't worry, and don't spend all that time scouring bizarre video sites. Your Glee is just a click away: I just found a copy of the on Half.com for just $18.00 the other day, and there is currently a new copy for that at the moment, plus one for $18.99 with free two-day shipping - both prices are significantly less than what most of the other major retailers are asking for the box set. When you get either through Half.com, you will also be earning 4.0% Cash Back on your purchase when you use your Ebates account. In the box set, you will get four discs worth of musical goodness from all of our friends at McKinley High, including all thirteen episodes from the first half of the first season and a variety of extras that help you find out more about your favorite cast members, the music, and what it's like to spend a day in the life of Glee.

Get your copy and find out what everyone has been talking about, or if you have been watching from the beginning, re-live some of your favorite moments as New Dimensions tries to make their way to sectionals!

During my monthly consumption of fashion periodicals, one thing became very apparent about Spring trends: anything goes. In a season without a dominant look, it opens up the fashion playing field for the trend conscious to reinvent their clothing from previous seasons and pick out more classic items as updates, optimizing their shopping budget without looking out of style.paintercardiMy philosophy this season is to really evaluate what my wardrobe is missing and then picking up those items. Rather than lusting after the season's must-have, I plan on picking up things I need but with a cool, crisp, Spring-like edge. Where else would a price-conscious, looking for classic-pieces girl (and guy) look than JCrew.com? It is the ultimate playground. Let's start with this Painter Cardigan for $68 with 1.0% Cash Back from Ebates. Constructed by an intricate process of piecing together and printing the delicate cotton, this cardigan works as a basic but wears like a fashion centerpiece. The color is perfectly flattering, it will compliment jeans and tee shirts and your favorite Spring-time dresses.

terrysweatpant Although I am all about comfort, I am normally not a fan of sweatpants in public beyond the age of eighteen. Leave it to JCrew to force me to make an exception to one of my biggest long-time fashion rules. These Luxe Terry Un-Sweatpants have me rethinking my weekend wear. I love them worn with a sandals, a button-down chambray,  or even an ultra-feminine blouse.

Shop for your classic Spring wardrobe updates at J Crew and earn 1.0% Cash Back from Ebates.

This trend isn't exactly new, but my lusting for it is. About a year ago the ikat print started making it's way onto the fashion scene (as confirmed by Fashionista Forward) and later made itself popular as a home design trend. Now I'll be the first one to admit I'm not particularly drawn to "of the moment" fabrics because I feel like a lemming following the pack, but the onset of warm-er weather is making me crave these ethnic prints. As seen everywhere, below are just a few examples of how you can incorporate this trend into your life and rack up some cash back while you're at it. Happy shopping!

ikat chairFurniture
Ikat fabrics are said to have originated from Malaysia, but the technique of dying this fabric comes from Indonesia. Much like tye-dye, achieving the ikat look involves twisting and tying of fabric. The finished product can come out in many shapes and colors, but for furniture I think it's best to stick with something a little more sedate. This Slip Chair from Urban Outfitters comes in blue ikat and features a mid-century modern design. Perfect for an accent chair this item is just $325 with free shipping and 2.5% Cash Back.

If you're not sure about plastering this print all over your body, or if you're more of a classic style, try it as an accessory. This Ikat Boho Sak from Shopbop is currently on sale for $65 and has a Southeast Asian feel thanks to a knotted handle adorned with wood beads. Made from hand woven canvas this bag is as close to an authentic ikat as you can get. As a bonus for shopping at Shopbop, you'll receive free shipping and 6.0% Cash Back. For a boho look (my personal fav) try wearing this with white jeans, moccasins, and your biggest pair of sunglasses.

ikat pillowHome Decor
Another way to add ikat to your home is through pillows, throws, and tapestries. I've always been a fan of using beautifully dyed fabrics like these JAVA Ikat Pillows from Burke Decor. A quick way to spice up your decor, these pillows range in size from 20x20 to 15x27. Available in 6 different prints you can add these to your couch, bed, or bay window for an eclectic touch. Use code HEARTS at checkout to receive 7% off your total, and don't forget all orders over $50 ship for free. Burke decor also sells rugs, table top accessories, shower curtains, design books, and lots of other goodies for the home. All with 6.0% Cash Back.

With the advent of 3D televisions starting to hit the market and technology being pushed that much more, there is one fantastic byproduct that is a huge help to those of us who are just behind the curve a little bit: prices have begun falling drastically on HDTVs that as recently as a few months ago were the absolute cutting edge of technology.

As I've been in the market for an HDTV for almost a year, I figured now was the best time to pull the trigger. My CRT television is starting a speedy slide into outdatedness, and after getting almost fifteen years of use out of it, it's just time to say goodbye. So I started researching; I knew I wanted at least a forty inch screen, 1080p, and a solid refresh rate. I looked around most of the major retailers, compared brands, prices, features, and compatibility. In the end, I found what I think should hopefully be the TV that will get me through the next fifteen years: the Samsung 46" Series 6 Black Flat Panel LCD HDTV. It pairs a giant screen (bordering on too big for my humble little abode) with a super-thin form factor, has 1080p, a 120Hz refresh rate, and is energy star compliant, which means it will continue to save me money over comparable TVs. It also has a feature called "BD Wise" which automatically adjust all the components for the optimal sound and picture quality. The menus are easy to navigate, and setup was a breeze - you don't have to be an engineer to be able to get up and running in no time, and once you are set up, the picture quality is like a dream come true.

Samsung HDTVAt the moment, Abt Electronics has the best deal I could find on this model, with a retail price of $999.00, which is $100 less than the list price. On top of that you get free shipping and also no sales tax, and I tell you, when you get to purchases of this magnitude, especially for an over-sized package, that can make a huge difference. Plus, with 2.0% Cash Back, you stand to make about twenty bucks in cash back through Ebates.

Can you find a better deal on an HDTV? Start in our Televisions category.

I know, I have belabored the point on this blog time and time again: I am a musician. I play music. I own lots of music-related stuff. Still, if there is one thing that unites musicians across the globe, regardless of style, level of playing, or even talent, it's one thing: a relentless desire to get more or different gear. Many of my friends in the music community call this "GAS" or "gear acquisition syndrome" and it's really rather commonplace.

Since I own so much stuff already, and my garage isn't getting any bigger, I try not to even think about buying new gear. Honestly, at this point, another guitar might push me to the point of considering therapy for addiction, but that doesn't mean other things don't catch my eye. One specific thing is the Line 6 G50 Relay Wireless System. It's their new wireless system, which has come out as the next generation of the G30 system, and these are supposed to be a real game-changer.

Line 6 Relay G50.jpgIf you haven't heard of them yet, I wager you will soon; Line 6 has introduced the encoded digital signal transmitter, as opposed to the traditional radio transmission wireless, with an optional twelve channels for the best uninterrupted clarity with a two hundred foot line-of-sight range. Another key improvement introduced with the G50 is that it is now all-metal casing, as opposed to the polycarbonate casing of the G30, and each generation uses AA batteries in their transmitters, a lower-cost option than the standard nine volt. These are currently selling at Musician's Friend for $399.99 with free shipping. Yes, it's a lot, but for a system that's really one of a kind, it's hard to compare prices.

The good news for you Ebates members is that Musician's Friend is today's Daily Double, so they are currently bumped to 6.0% Cash Back, meaning you stand to get about $24.00 in cash back just for shopping today. Of course, you will be getting cash back on any and all purchases you make up until midnight.

Mixed-ChairWriting a Home and Garden blog usually takes me hours. Not because I suffer from writer's block, or because there's little to talk about. In fact the opposite is true; there's so much to talk about I easily get lost in the world of design blogs, new links, and new designers like Australian designer Clair Wayman. After spending some time ogling her creative use of textiles, and her simple but innovative design techniques (which cause why-didn't-I-think-of-that syndrome) I started my next task which involved searching for Home and Garden Coupons. Not far into my search I discovered Sears is offering up to 35% off their entire stock of furniture, so I jumped on the sight and wouldn't you know it, found the same exact chair featured on Clair Wayman's blog.

Club ChairPart of the Baxton Studio collection, this chair is just one of many pieces of furniture sold at Sears that is on trend but still manages to be affordable. Called the Club Chair, this first became popular in the 1960's, but has made a strong comeback now that modern furniture is everywhere. The combination of wood and plastic is unpretentious and playful, and I think this piece would make the perfect addition to any playroom, kitchen, or as a mismatched choice for a desk. Priced at $164 for a set of two, this chair is a low cost way to change up decor, and with so many design blogs featuring it, it's also a hot item. You'll get 2.0% Cash Back and own one of the most coveted items in design.

Welcome back Anthony Williams! I am so glad he returned to the show. His upbeat attitude is a refreshing change from the groans and moans of the other designers. Even more pleasing than his return is the beautiful gown he designed that caught the attention of guest judge Jessica Alba. Who looks terrible as a blonde. Seriously!
In episode 11 the designers were challenged to create a dress worthy of the red carpet. Both Anthony and Emilio rose to the occasion and snagged Project Runway's second double win. Jonathan was not so successful, and to be honest I am glad he was sent home. His dress was atrocious, and you could tell the judges were holding back what they really thought so as to not cause a meltdown like that in episode 10. Tears aside, let's get down to shopping the winning looks!

Emilio's Dress - Hands down the best made dress of the evening, this glitzy number has a sleek form with a touch of abstract. If you love this fabric and want to try this trend for yourself, shop for dresses that have a simple cut. This Sequin Gown from Nordstrom features a sophisticated one shoulder design and floor sweeping length. It's simplicity helps to balance the boldness of sequins, and as an added bonus, this dress is priced at an extremely affordable $148 plus 3.0% Cash Back.

JCrew Gown

Anthony's Dress - When Anthony started with black and white fabric I assumed the outcome would be something harsh and too 80's. I was pleasantly surprised when his dress resembled a 1930's starlet more than a 1980's Madonna. Even more important to me than the contrasting palette is the flowing, ethereal feel to this dress. For feminine, soft, and gorgeous dresses, J.Crew can't be beat. This Silk Gala Gown is made from silky fabric similar to what Anthony used and it also features a black sash for that pop of color. Available at J.Crew, you'll earn 1.0% Cash Back on this eye catching dress. Until next time, see you on the runway!

If you watch ESPN, you've probably noticed all the ads running to hype the FIFA World Cup which runs from June 11 - July 11 in South Africa. In case you are unfamiliar with the event, the World Cup, which occurs once every four years, is a soccer tournament comprised of 32 nations and is one of the biggest events in all of sports. In 2006, the World Cup drew 829 million viewers in North America and the Caribbean compared to 141 million viewers the Super Bowl drew that same year.

In one of the most highly anticipated matches in the tournament, the United States will play England in their opening match on June 12th. This is a game that every American should watch (in my humble opinion) to show support for their country against one of the world's best soccer nations. If the USA can find a way to tie or win that match, we should be able to advance to the next round where anything can happen!

If you love soccer or just want to show your support for your country this summer, now is the time to buy your Team USA shirt from World Soccer Shop since supplies are limited worldwide. World Soccer Shop is known as one of the premier destinations for world soccer apparel and we carry dozens of items for all 32 countries participating in the FIFA World Cup. You can buy the officially licensed jersey for nearly every team and we have a wide selection of t-shirts and more at low prices.

sailorYour friends here at the Ebates blog ( namely, me and the Deal Hunting Diva) have gushed a few times about our love for the iconic sailor tee. This classic piece is always in style, whether you pair it with your favorite jeans, shorts or with a white pant for a complete look. It is chic, classic and understated. This year more than ever the sailor tee is having a moment. You can spot them on the streets and on the runways and you can get one basically from every store. But, the key to nailing this trend is to really go for a classic, true to the iconic sailor tee version. With such a variety of styles comes a variety of price ranges. I stumbled upon this Land's End Striped Jersey Tee for just $29.50 and 2.0% Cash Back from Ebates. I'll admit that I was a tad skeptical that this item would be perfect for what I wanted. However, when it arrived, I knew right away that I had met my perfect sailor tee at the perfect price. The shirt is made of a thick, refined jersey cotton that is soft and smooth. The cotton is thick enough so that you do not need to layer something underneath and it has just the right boxy fit while still being feminine and tailored.Pick yours up at Lands End for just $29.50 and get 2.0% Cash Back from Ebates!

With my tax refund just a few weeks away, it's fun to fantasize about all the wonderful things I could buy. Truth be told, I won't be spending much since the bulk of my refund is going toward a trip to Australia (which I'll be sure to book with the Ebates Travel category), however I am alloting myself a bit of cash for fun stuff. If you haven't done your taxes yet, fret not. Just head over to Ebates Tax and Office page, and get up to 35.0% Cash Back.

DecanterThose who know me know I am obsessed with creating the perfect home. One that is superior enough to be photographed and featured in my favorite design blogs like Desire To Inspire, and Design Sponge. This weekend brought me a bit closer with the addition of a beautiful kitchen table, however a nice table topped with not so nice decor is a big no-no. This Recycled Glass Decanter from eBay subcategory World Of Good will look great set against the rich dark tones of my handcrafted farm table. Priced at $38, it fits into my theme of not overspending and I'll get 2.0% Cash Back.

Serving SetEqually important on a table top are proper serving utensils. Although my serving set came with basics like a butter knife, serving spoon, etc; having a pair of sophisticated serving utensils like this Archive Artisan Serving Set puts any meal over the top. Available at Sundance Catalog this set is just $35 with 2.0% Cash Back. Add a few napkins and the right dinnerware, and my home is one step closer to perfection!

See all ways to get cash back on your refund with Ebates!

Duke NCAA Champs.jpgYou have no idea how much I would have loved, for sheer comic value, to have said "The Butler Did It" in the title line of this blog, but alas, it just wasn't meant to be. Still, give a world of credit to the up-and-coming Bulldogs for giving a longtime powerhouse a really serious run for their money. Personally speaking, I can take some joy in Duke's win because I am a Cal Bears fan, and they are the team that ousted us from the tournament this year, so I can say that we did indeed lose to the best team in the tournament.

If you are a Blue Devil backer who rooted their team on to victory, you can show your excitement about their first title in nine years by heading over to JCPenney, where they have an entire page dedicated to Championship Wear, including hats, tees, sweatshirts, flags, even automotive floormats or throw rugs for the real die-hard fans. In other words, no matter what you might want to show your pride in Duke, you will be able to find it at the Duke Blue Devils store at JCPenney. Plus, when you show your pride for big blue, you can save some green by shipping through Ebates. JCPenney is currently offering 3.0% Cash Back, and you can earn that cash back on all purchases on all sorts of team wear for your favorite college or pro sports team. Or if you hate sports, you will still be earning cash back on any item you find at JCPenney.

beach.jpgIt is that time of year again where my desperate need for a vacation comes to the surface. The weather is improving, which has me thinking of sunshine, beaches, cocktails that involve umbrellas and getting away even if it is for a weekend. The main stumbling block for my "vacation dreams" is not when or how I will get away but rather, booking the trip, getting a deal and having my vacation fit into my very limited budget. I want sandy beaches, warm water, a nice hotel, and for all of it ( hotel and airfare) to cost me less than $700 and travel longer than three days. Impossible? Not when you book at Expedia through Ebates where you can now get all-inclusive trips to Mexico for just $500! Search destinations from the hottest spots in Mexico including Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and the Mexican Rivera. Choose from a long list of top-rated hotels with customer reviews to help you pick the right hotel and destination for you.

And of course, shop through Ebates and get even more savings with 1.0% Cash Back on anything you book through Expedia!

The Ebates blog is typically used to promote great deals on clothing, books, furniture, beauty items, and whatever else you can think of. Everything except food. Why? Well despite the numerous stores in our Food and Wine Category, cooking a tasty meal at home is one of the few ways you can't earn cash back. Right? Wrong! While it's true you don't receive cash back while shopping the farmers market or your local grocery store, you can get cash back on the tools necessary to turn ingredients into a pass-it-down recipe. As a self proclaimed foodie I thought I'd share one of my favorite meals; Peppers stuffed with my famous green potatoes. Easy to make, this meal is full of flavor, low on cost, and you can incorporate cash back by adding a few tools.

Step One: The Basics
For this meal you'll need
3 Peppers. Tops cut off and set aside.
1-2 lbs Yellow and Red Potatoes. Washed and quartered. I leave the skin on for more nutrients.
1Tbsp Salted Butter
2 Tbsp Olive Oil. This is really a guesstimate since I always eye my ingredients rather than measure them.
Salt and Pepper to taste.

Step Two: The Seasonings
Add as little or as much as you like, but note the term green potatoes comes from the abundance of fresh herbs!
1/4-1/2 c. Chopped Red Onion
1/4 c. Minced Parsley
1/4 c. Fresh Rosemary
1-2 tbsp Minced Garlic

Preheat oven to 375. In a 3-qt saucepan melt butter and add in onions, parsley, salt and pepper. Wait till butter is fully melted then add in desired amount of olive oil. This will replace the need for adding milk later. In a separate 5-qt pot or dutch oven (like this Enamel Coated Cast Iron Dutch Oven from Target) boil water and add potatoes. I've always adhered to the more is more philosophy when it comes to buying cookware. More quality, more cash back. The mentioned dutch oven will get you 3.0% Cash Back at Target

Stuffed-PeppersWhile potatoes are boiling lightly grease 9x9 inch baking dish, and place in peppers. Be sure to only use peppers that stand on their own. When potatoes are ready to be mashed, strain them and return to pan. Add butter mixture and mash. Once fully mixed, stuff peppers with green potatoes and add a dash of pepper on top. Cheese also works well. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes so crust forms, then drop temperature to 350 and bake another 35 minutes. When it comes to baking or roasting, only buy what suits your needs. Because I live alone and typically cook smaller servings, this Open Glass Roasting Pan is a perfect option. Purchased from Sur La Table, I received 4.0% Cash Back on this heavily used item.

After 45 minutes from placing in oven (always be sure to check food during cooking time as ovens vary) remove peppers from oven and serve! For display purposes, top with lid and serve as an appetizer. Of course no meal is complete without a delicious wine, so head over to Wine.com for an extensive selection of fine wines and 4.0% Cash Back.

As a former literature student who rides the bus every day to work, I always have an eye out for what the people around me are reading. About six months ago, it was The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, and after reading that, I could completely understand what all the fuss was about. Nowadays, the hot read seems to be the Millennium Trilogy from Swedish author, Stieg Larsson.

Millennium TrilogyChances are, if you either frequent bookstores or pay attention to readers around you in public, you have seen either of his two books, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo or The Girl Who Played with Fire being read by someone around you in the past few months. See, The Girl Who Played with Fire just came out in paperback circulation, and the buzz is increasing more and more as we anxiously await Larsson's final book of the trilogy: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. My advice to you about these books is the following: if you haven't yet started the trilogy, by all means, wait until the third book is released! Trust me on this one folks, once you finish reading the first book, you will want to be able to immediately grab the second one, and up to this point, I have to assume that the same can definitely be said for the second book and it's segue into the third. Luckily for all of us, Barnes & Noble has got a few different deals right now to help ease the cost a little bit. First off, no matter what you buy, you can use coupon code R8J4C9K to take 15% off one item (some exceptions apply, of course). Also, for a limited time, Barnes & Noble is offering anyone who orders through their site the special discount member price on purchases. That means you no longer have to look at a lower price and debate whether it's worth paying an annual fee to get that discount - right now everyone does! Finally, you will get free shipping on orders over $25; it's kind of the industry standard, but it still feels great to take a look at your checkout screen and see "Shipping: FREE" in the expense line. Oh, and did I mention that you get an extra discount on the third book if you pre-order it by itself? Because you do, and that makes the savings even nicer.

As always, you will also get 4.0% Cash Back when you order through Ebates, meaning you now have five unique ways to save by ordering through Barnes & Noble right now!

This has been a good week for those of us who love watching movies and TV in the comfort of our own homes; not only did Target have a great deal on Mad Men that I wrote about the other day, I just found Fantastic Mr. Fox, which just came out on DVD on March 23rd for $20.23 with free shipping! Where did I find such an amazing deal, you ask? Good old Deep Discount, the website that has pretty much become my go-to shop for all my DVD purchases.

Fantastic Mr FoxYou're probably asking yourself "Bill, why Deep Discount? What's the obsession?" Luckily for me, the answer is simple: they have some of the best prices on a killer selection of merchandise. For instance, I picked up Fantastic Mr. Fox for just $20.23, which is less than all the other retail outlets I checked once you factor in that there is neither tax nor a shipping charge. Yes, some other retailers offer a lower base price, but you end up getting enough little add-ons to tip the scales; plus, I just really appreciate a site where the price you see on the site is the price that you see on your bill.

Of course, while I was at it, I couldn't stop at just one DVD, so I also picked an anime box set that I'd been keeping an eye on called "Death Note" they had both Box One and Box Two at very competitive prices, I even was able to find Heart Beat, a relatively obscure movie from 1980 depicting the friendship between Beat Generation heroes Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady, for about eight dollars less than anywhere else I could find it.

As always, you'll be getting 2.5% Cash Back whenever you shop at Deep Discount using your Ebates account, so the savings just keep piling up!

Gap-KidsI typically ignore designer collaborations with big stores like H&M. Call me crazy, but there's something unappealing about standing in line for hours, wrestling for the last size 4, and then realizing I'm holding onto a piece of polyester. Jaded view aside, there are some stores who get designer collaborations right. Take the Gap for instance. For the second time Gap has teamed up with Stella McCartney (animal rights lover and fashionista extraordinaire) to bring another kick ass collection for Gap Kids. The collection is so good, I'm jealous I'm not 7.

Mercy Crochet SweaterThe collection features motorcycle jackets and uber cool denim slip on shoes for boys, adorable sailor shirts and long knit cardigans for girls, and the chicest jumpers for babies I've ever seen. I'm not lying when I say this collection looks as if it were designed for adults, then shrunk into kid size. It's that good. What's equally drool worthy are the affordable prices and 4.0% Cash Back. Choosing an item to feature wasn't easy with so many contenders, but I decided this gorgeous Mercy Crochet Sweater was a winner. I'm not lying when I say if this came in my size I would buy it, and considering it's more than your average cotton top, it's extremely well priced at just $58. My advice is to shop Gap Kids now because items from Stella McCartney are quickly selling out. Don't forget you'll receive $7 standard shipping at Gap stores, so if you've already shopped for the kids, go ahead and treat yourself.

PR Episode 10Last week on Project Runway we said goodbye to Anthony Williams, and congrats to Emilio. Again!  Although I'll miss Anthony's hilarious one liners; the most recent being his remark toward Mila's print "I don't want to wear legos, I just want to play with them!" in the end someone must go home. Last week also saw another PR first with the designers having to create their own prints. A theme which is easily shopped through Ebates stores.

I'm torn this week over whether or not I agree with Emilio's print. On one hand I think it's brilliant that he chose a simple print comprised of letters because it's easy to replicate, easy to recognize, and the combination of those two means it can easily become a trademark. Think Marc By Marc Jacobs, or Louis Vuitton. On the other hand I think it's a creative cop out and shows a lack of effort. Read Tim Gunn's blog and you'll see that I'm not the only one who thinks so. Regardless of my opposing opinions I love a good print, so I've gathered a few examples of how to harness this trend.

Miss Marc TeeIf there's anyone who has mastered the art of branding a print it's Marc Jacobs. Whether it's a collection for Louis Vuitton handbags, or his kitschy images like this Sketchy Miss Marc Tee, each season he redefines what colors and prints will be cool. Earn 3.0% Cash Back when shopping for this tee shirt at Bloomingdales. To add a touch of rocker chic like Seth Aaron's design try this Hayden Studded Cashmere Cardigan from Bluefly. As the official accessory store of Project Runway, Bluefly offers accessories, shoes, and clothing for men and women. All with 3.5% Cash Back.

Julian DressProbably the most famous designer to marry prints with a sexy fit is Diane Von Furstenberg. Since the 1970's she has been dressing women in her famously printed wrap dresses, and much like Emilio softened the bold print of his dress by using a fitted bodice and sharp neckline, DVF chooses a body consciousness fit to compliment her prints. This Julian Wrap Dress is Spring appropriate with it's festive leaf print and the fit is flattering on all body types. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue you'll get 2.5% Cash Back from Ebates, and plenty of compliments from others!

Snapfish Celebrates its 10th Anniversary with Great Deals

Wow - just 10 years ago, most of us were using film cameras. Remember taking your film to the drug store, dropping off the canister, and returning a week later to pick up your prints? Remember standing in line and getting annoyed because the person in front of you had to rip open her package and start looking at her photos right then and there? And then peeking over her shoulder to see if you could catch a glimpse?

In 10 years, so much has changed. Now we take thousands and thousands of photos, all without using a single reel of film. We take photos with our mobile phones. We post photos online and share them with our friends and family around the world. And in addition to prints, we can make beautiful products--like custom photo books--to preserve our memories.

At Snapfish, a website where you can store and share your photos for free, you can make stunning photo books with your images. And from today through April 10th, Snapfish is celebrating its 10th anniversary with thousands of giveaways--including 10,000 (yes, 10,000) FREE 5"x7" photo books.

Every day from today through April 10th, visit Snapfish to see the Deal of the Day. And spin the fish for your chance at once of these amazing prizes:

  • One of 10 HP 311 Mini Laptop Computers
  • One of 10 HP Photosmart Premium Web All-in-One Printers
  • One of 10 $50 gift certificates for photo frames
  • One of 10,000 5" x 7" paperback custom cover photo books
  • One of 10,000 16" x 20" collage photo posters
  • One of 10,000 photo notebooks Up 1 million free prints will be given away, too.
