Makes you think doesn't it? I will be the first to tell you that when it comes to money and paying for purchases, I too have an ego. Using coupons is an ego blow and a pride squasher because our ego and pride wants us to prove our selves successful. We can take care of our family with out the help of a measly piece of paper. Besides, what's $.50 right? We are MEN (insert grunts and growls here)!!

What if I told you that I save over $12,000 per year just on groceries using coupons? I'm not talking "extreme couponing" either. Just using a coupon for the groceries I buy. That's not to mention the cash back I earn through sites like Ebates.com. Aside from using coupons for food, I also save on things like clothing, entertainment, oil changes, travel, and electronics. Since it's Man Week at Ebates, it's natural for me to think of the guy in my life. Being that I shop for myself quite a bit, it only seems appropriate to spend this week earning double cash back while getting a few must have items for him. Here are just a few of the items he, and I, can't live without.

Grr...It's Man Week! No, just kidding, we certainly don't think that just because this week is dedicated to men that we need to bring in mac trucks, muscles, and other masculine stereotypes. My craziest vacation was in 2008 when me and 3 of my buddies went to Jacksonville, Fla for a young survivors of breast cancers conference. You see we were all recently diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and were all under 40 years old. So, we all packed up and headed to the conference together not knowing what we were in for, having never traveled together, for that matter never even spent more than one or two hours together at support groups.

I can tell you honestly that I never laughed so much or cried so much in my life. Half the time I would laugh so hard I would pee myself...TMI..sorry!  We ate well, we drank, we learned, we met other women that were just like us, and we finally felt normal. I rode a mechanical bull, and two of us got tattoos (we are not the tattoo type). I saw other womens' mastectomy scars and it made me feel like I could finally get through what I was dealing with.

All in all, the weather sucked, the hotel was ok, but the camaraderie with my girls made that one of my best vacations.

This Thursday is St.Patrick's Day, and I suspect many of you will be celebrating. Despite not being Irish, I believe it's not why you celebrate (assumed patriotism) but how you celebrate (doing more than getting drunk) that really matters. I'm sure most of you have watched the infomercial for Insanity, the workout that is, insane. Personally I'm too lucid to do anything that challenging, but thinking of what it takes to make that kind of commitment got me thinking of regimens and challenges in general. For the past few months, my life has lacked any sort of regimen. I exercise sporadically, leave my house at a different time each morning, and my desire to cook is fleeting at best, and usually falls on days when my refrigerator is empty. This is also true for the other aspects in my life, like skincare.

With sunnier days ahead, I think it's a good idea to jump start my SPF routine. A regimen I'm not as strict about in the Winter. Not that this is a good thing. It used to be that SPF 15 was all you needed, but now it's recommended that an SPF of 30 or higher be used. This SPF 40 Moisturizer from Josie Maran is just the thing I need, and will hopefully, hopefully, jump start other healthy habits. Infused with argan oil, this lotion protects skin from damaging rays and helps prevent oil production, so you get the perfect coverage without clogged pores. At $32 this item is a bit steeper than most beauty products, but Sephora has an amazing return policy, and if I'm not completely satisfied I can search for something else. With Spring palettes coming out, the pickings ain't slim.

Hello everyone, I'm Angie. My love for sprucing up my home on a budget gave birth to The Country Chic Cottage, a blog dedicated to thrifty decor and crafting ideas. Today I'm excited to blog for Ebates and share one of my newest crafts dedicated to St.Patrick's Day. First let me preface by saying I am not a huge Saint Patrick's Day person, and kelly green (the green of St.Patrick's Day) isn't really my color. Despite this, I challenged myself to come up with an idea that was Irish themed, but saved me from excessive green.

 

This craft is super easy, even your kids can help! Here's what you need

Freezer Paper (find it near aluminum foil in your grocery store)

Exacto Knife

Scissors or Craft Cutter

Iron

Fabric Paint

Simply cut out your pattern using an exacto knife, scissors, or a craft cutter. Next you'll need to iron your stencil, including those little center pieces that fall out when you cut them. After that paint over your stencils, peel the freezer paper off, and let dry. My daughter is very into peace signs and this seemed like the perfect St.Patty's Day t-shirt for her. All it took was a few supplies, and a bit of imagination.

I know this, yet I can't bring myself to believe it, let along shop for it. The reasons behind this I do not know, but what I do know is my wardrobe is need of a serious overhaul. Having not been consumed with fashion (I know, shocker), I've had time to think about what I own, need, and should never buy again. 1970's platforms are everywhere right now. I haven't decided if this is a good or terribly bad thing, but I have set on these T-Strap Platform Heels from Urban Outfitters. A t-strap heel is classic (think 1940's) and will go with everything from rolled jeans, flower sundress, and even work pants, cropped of course.

Clothes
Have you noticed that fashion can't make up it's mind? Should we wear 80's zebra prints, or 70's paisley prints? Skinny jeans or bell bottoms? Mini's or maxi dresses? It's a hodgepodge for sure, so I'm going for basics that I'll be able to mix and match with anything. Take this Silk Blythe Blouse from J.Crew. This menswear inspired blouse first made it's debut from the line Equipment last Spring, but continues to make a strong presence with other fashion lines knocking it off. What I love about this piece is how feminine and versatile it is. Go ahead, try to find something that doesn't look great with it. Exactly.

Accessories
Again, what is going on? Should I accessorize myself to the point of looking like an extra from Mad Max or Dances with Wolves? Neither is appropriate for day to day, so I'm sticking to simplicity and buying myself this Michael Kors Watch from Shopbop. For those who think boooring, let's reconvene in 3 months, when you're wondering how it's possible to own so much and wear so little. I'll still have my watch, and still have something to wear.
