Under $100 Spring Look: Day 1

It's Spring Fashion week at Ebates and I am doing a little series for all you budget fashionistas: 5 on trend Spring looks for under $100! While I always like finding the *best* deal, I am not so vigilant about staying under a single budget, so I decided to challenge myself to find the best buys out there. All these outfit will be under $100 BEFORE Cash Back. Hope you enjoy them!

1. This awesome fedora will be great through the Summer and is only about $13

2. Target is bringing us two trends in a single blouse: emerald (color of the year!) and peplum. This one will run just about $20

3. These skinny boyfriend jeans create a cool contrast when paired with the super feminine blouse. Plus, everyone needs a good pair of weekend jeans. These will run about $35 from Old Navy.

4. Finish off the outfit with a great pair of neutral wedges. Lulus has a great selection for just around $30

Calling All Music Lovers: Check out Sonos

Every now and then I personally endorse a brand or product, This is one of those times. A few months ago I was looking for new glasses, but didn't want to spend more then $200. Laura's Pick: Herschel Supply Co. Backpack

While I am not heading back to school right now, I have caught the BTS fever. With so many stores offering DCB and great deals on loads of fun and functional products, I have been shopping up a storm. Since I started commuting I am always juggling a fair amount of things: lunch, wallet, book, and finding a large enough bag can be a challenge. Enter Herschel Supply Co. and their amazing backpacks! They are available with 3.0% Cash Back at Amazon - but not for much longer!

Their collection mixes canvas, nylon, and leather for a designy yet functional look. They come in basic colors that I won't get sick of after a few months. The designs are basic and chic - they wouldn't depreciate a stylish outfit at all. Style+function = A+!

Tips for Getting the Most from Your Hard Earned Dollar!

1) Buy clothing and shoes off season! I save up to 90% on our clothing and shoes buying off season. That means purchasing what we need (or want) at the end of the season and putting it away for the following year. Styles (even designer brands) do not change that drastically from year to year. Buy a size larger for your children. Even if they grow quickly and grow over the size you haven't invested that much money in the item to get upset over it. I'm certain you will be able to sell that brand new with tags item at a yard sale or to a friend who will be thrilled to obtain that item for their child at such a great price. Some stores like Kohl's (13% Cash Back) will accept your returns even up to a year or more old as long as they still have the tags attached and you have your receipt.

2) Get rid of that expensive fancy cell phone plan! You are throwing away your hard earned money each month paying for that fancy cell phone plan. I dumped ours years ago because we were paying for minutes that we never used. If you are a big cell phone user then I guess it is worth having the fancy phone and expensive plan but I save a bundle each year using a pay as you go plan like Tracfone! It cost me about $110.00 per year per cell phone to have cell phone coverage with the latest phone but we are not big users and it works well for our needs. Tracfone now has a triple minute plan that you can buy and each time you renew your yearly plan you will receive triple minutes. Ebates merchant Best Buy (1% to 3.6% Cash Back) carries Tracfone phones and plans and the best part is you will get a cash back bonus from this merchant.

3) Grow a veggie garden! Get together with some friends/neighbors and see if they can grow something different so that you can all share in the bounty. We grow tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, melons and lot's of herbs each year. Even if you only have the room to grow herbs in pots on your windowsill then do so. Check out the vast selection of seeds and instructional videos that Burpee (7% Cash Back) has to offer. It's free and a wonderful resource for great deals on seeds and information.

4) Don't purchase items you really don't need. Make a list and stick to it when you go food shopping. Think twice before purchasing those pink shoes - exactly how many times will you wear pink shoes? Weigh the cost of a repairs vs. new - you would be surprised how much more life you can get out of that washer with a simple repair. If you are handy there is a wealth of information on the internet on how to do your own repairs. If the project looks too overwhelming then don't tackle it, call a professional but be sure to get an estimate before he starts the work. Don't trust any of the local professionals? - Join Angie's List (2% to 27.5% Cash Back) it's well worth the small fee you have to pay each year to get the valuable information on her list. New Year New Tires

A New Year, A New List Of Things To Wish For

I realize Christmas just passed and having a wishlist so close to the receiving of presents is a tad over the top, but what else am I suppose to do? Stop dreaming? Never.

Instead I've compiled a list of items I didn't find under the tree this year. A bit of this, a bit of that. Each will put a smile on my face. A girl can dream can't she?

Live Fabulessly For Less!

With New Year's Resolutions right around the corner, some people are looking for ways to trim their budget along with their waistline. However daunting this task might seem, it doesn't have to be! By using the simple principle of sharing, you could save hundreds of dollars.

Here are the things I share in my life that save me money:

A dinner plate at a restaurant. I often share a meal with a friend or my husband when we go out to eat. Because I'm very anti leftovers, the larger portioned meals often go to waste. Splitting a meal and therefore the check just makes sense! Or, shop smart and buy the Entertainment Book from Ebates!

Carpooling. I share the cost of gas by trading off carpooling duties in the morning when shuttling my kids to school.

Clothing. My sister and I occasionally share clothing. If I have an event coming up where I need to purchase something (like a fancy cocktail dress), I will raid her closet first. If this doesn't work I shop smart and head to JCPenney, Kohls, or any other store where I'll get cash back from Ebates.

Movies/Music. If you find your family is getting tired of the same old CD and DVD collection, swap with your friends or neighbors for awhile instead of purchasing new ones. Or, shop smart and go to Half.com where there's always great deals on entertainment.

Quite Possibly The Best Thing Since Sliced Bread

City living is the ultimate love/hate relationship, a cycle of bliss and irritation that gets even the most even tempered of us. I do not fit into the category of even-keeled folks, so when I hate the city, I hate the city.

I'm just beginning to come out of a hate phase and as I enter the world of why I love the city, I have Groupon, among better weather and no parking tickets, to thank. You see Groupon is like a VIP card that allows city dwellers, suburbanites, and everyone in between to experience the best life has to offer, but without the incurred cost. Thanks to my Groupon membership I can score coupons for shopping, yoga, restaurants, even music venues.

I spare you the winded story of how Groupon has afford me the opportunity to shop at Gap and save 50%, or take expensive pilates classes for a fraction of the cost but what I will say is they are a must. Yes, the daily email can get a bit annyoing but in the end the money saved is worth it.
