The bug release in nearly upon us, and it seems 1920s fever is starting to pervade even more stores. While I have mentioned ModCloth's whimsical pics in the past, they seem to be embracing the Jazz Age look with vigor.

05_07_modclotth.jpg

The blazer makes a glamorous, contrasted statement. This hairpiece would look lovely with a nightime ensemble or to dress up a more casual look. The pastel collar necklace is great because it is on trend yet pay homage to the Gatsby-look. This embelished dress would look great at any garden party. Are you excited for The Great Gatsby remake?

Although I love the book and the original movie, I will concede that I am over the moon excited for this. Lucky for me, lots of stores are embracing the look and feel of the film in some capsule collections. Of these collections my favorite might be from Warby Parker.

04_30-_warbyparker_blog.jpg

Their 1922 evokes the look and feel of the film/era in hip eyewear! I have raved about Warby Parker before, but let me remind you: their glasses run right around $100 and for every pair purchased, one is given to someone who needs a pair (like TOMS shoes). Plus you will earn 6.0% Cash Back :)

With February flying by, Spring is on the horizon. I am slowly packing away my heaviest coats and getting my wardrobe geared up for the Spring. While pastels aren't breaking any molds for the springtime, it is a really fun trend that will warm up your wardrobe with just a couple of pieces.

GapSpring2013

1. This Trina Turk blouse embraces TWO trends: pastel AND peplum

2. This sherbet colored cardigan may not be the most versatile piece but it is certainly on trend

3. This chambray tunic certainly looks comfortable, and the pastel blue is a more toned down take on a fun trend

4. These minty stripes are a playful take on this blouse

5. Of all my pastel picks, this might be the most intrinsically Spring-y pick. Wouldn't this skirt look perfect at an Easter picnic?

6. White denim is a bold move, but the weather is warmer and it will perfectly compliment any other piece in your wardrobe

Every now and then I personally endorse a brand or product, This is one of those times. A few months ago I was looking for new glasses, but didn't want to spend more then $200. Between frames and lenses, that was quite a goal. A friend suggested I google Warby Parker. Voila! They send you 5 frames that you can try on, then you pick a favorite and they mail you new glasses. All for under $100. But that's not all - for every pair purchased, they give a pair to someone in need. I love my frames so much that I am thinking of grabbing another pair. But it gets better - they also have a collection of sunglasses AND offer 6.0% Cash Back :)

02_05-warbyp.png

1. Classic light brown frames - Preston

2. Great pop of bright color - Sloan

3. These light colored shades will look cool all year 'round

4. The FIllmore comes in some very Mad Men inspired shaes

5. They even have sunglasses, like these classic aviators

6. These cool octagonal shades seem like a modern Jackie O look

Hello! This is Kelsey from Style Me Cheaply! I'm so jazzed to be apart of the Ebates $150 outfit challenge. I've been shopping with Ebates for years and am a huge fan. I'm all about fabulous style on a real girl budget so I was thrilled to use my shopping skills and Ebates cash back to pull together a head to toe look.

StyleMeCheaplyOutfit

I wanted to put together a look that was fun and feminine. One of fall's biggest trends in the peplum top so I was on a hunt to find the perfect one. I wanted to keep the pants casual and saw these at American Eagle, they are super comfortable, fit great and the price was amazing (under $30)! I love a good animal print and these leopard booties add the perfect amount of fun. Every outfit needs to be finished off with some fabulous accessories. I topped it off with a large statement clutch and gold earrings.

StyleMeCheaplyCollage

1. Black clutch (similar)- $16.99
2. Peplum top (similar) - $41.88
3. American Eagle Skinny Jean - $29.99
4. DSW Madden Girl Leopard Bootie - $49.95
5. Doorknocker earrings (similar) - $7.99

Hello lovelies! It's Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls and I'm super psyched to be back guest posting for Ebates again! This time around I'm sharing the under $150 fall look that Ebates tasked me with styling. While I'm a total fashion fanatic and definitely appreciate designer duds, finding a good bargain really gets me all pumped up!

BonBonOutfit

A couple trends that I'm particularly loving this season are black & blue and snakeskin. Once I decided on the trends I wanted to rock, I had a blast shopping the many stores that Ebates offers cash back at to find the perfect pieces to create my budget friendly ensemble.

When I came across a little blue Tinley Road frock over at Piperlime, I decided it was just the thing to build my fall look around. I had a baby a few months ago and the silhouette was very forgiving to my post baby curves! Forget the little black dress. I'm all about the little blue dress these days!

Next up, I headed over to my favorite accessories hot spot, BaubleBar. The instant I saw their Snakeskin Cuff, I was in love. I layered it with one of their Pyramid Bangles and if I had had any more room in le budget, I would have layered on even more arm candy! I'm slightly bauble addicted. Haha! A cross body bag from JC Penney and killer black pumps from Payless set off my outfit to a tee!

1. BaubleBar cuff: $26.00
2. BaubleBar bangle: $20.00
3. Piperlime dress: $58.65 (with 15% off first purchase discount)
4. Payless pumps: $24.99
5. JC Penney bag: $20.00

Step into fall with a new 'pointy' spring in your step. Even though the Summer sun is still shining, I have fall fashion on the mind. One of the trends I am most psyched about is pointy flats. They add instant polish to any outfit and there are amazing options.

07_27d.jpg

1. These tan and navy polka dot pointy flats are a funky little basic

2. These pointed flats are animal printed and have gold embellishment, but they would still look cute all year 'round

3. These basic pointed Steve Madden black flats are never going out of style

4. Sparkly & pointed? Yes, please!

5. Stay on trend with a bold print - they will spruce up any basic outfit in a second!

Liza is our guest blogger from www.addictedtosaving.com.  She has been running her blog since 2009.  Her goal is to empower her readers with the tools necessary to save money.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A common misconception people have of me is that I'm constantly driving from store to store shopping. In actuality, I spent most of my days blogging on Addicted to Saving and I only go shopping once, maybe twice a week. I go grocery shopping every week to my local grocery store as I maximize their sales with high value coupons. And, I will go to my local drugstore once every other week to take advantage of their sales. Beyond that, you will very seldom see me out and about.
That doesn't mean I don't shop, though! I shop online all the time! I shop online for three reasons:
1) Convenience. I don't have to leave my house to shop and can save time AND gas money by turning on my computer.
2) Savings. I can very easily check out sales and compare prices at two or three online stores to find the best deal.
3) Cash back. Ebates provides me with online coupon codes to use and save money AND they pay me cash back on my online purchases!
I gave myself a challenge to see if I could buy a full outfit for myself and my hubby from head to toe for close to $100. Including shipping costs. Take a look at what I scored for a total of $103.46! And, I got paid $2.31 from Ebates to make these purchases!
My Outfit
Dress: Old Navy Women's Tie-Waist Tube Maxi Dresses on sale $27.50
Shoes: Old Navy Women's Embellished Wedge Flip-Flops in Gold Glitter on sale $12.00
Underwear: Victoria's Secret Cotton Bikini with Ruffles, on clearance $3.99
Bra: Victoria's Secret Multi-Way Bandeau Bra, on clearance $14.99
Hubby's Outfit
Shorts: Old Navy Men's Plaid Poplin Shorts, $15.00
Shirt: JCPenney St. John's Bay® Solid Piqué Polo Shirt in Black, $9.00
Boxers: Old Navy Men's Printed Poplin Boxers, on sale $5.99
Shoes: JCPenney Surfcrown® Black Plaid Flip Flop, on sale $9.00
Total Spent on OldNavy.com: $60.49 (shipping free since I spent over $50)
2% Cash Back on Old Navy: $1.21
Total Spent on JC Penney: $18.00 (shipped free to store)
4% Cash Back on JCPenney.com: $0.72
Total Spent on Victoria's Secret: $24.97 ($5.99 shipping is included in the total)
2% Cash Back on Victoria's Secret: $0.38
Total Out of Pocket: $103.46
Total Cash Back from Ebates: $2.31
While I did end up going over budget slightly, I think I did a pretty good job! What kind of deals have you found while shopping on Ebates?
One of my favorite things about working at Ebates is when I discover an online store chock full of clothing and accessories to help me build up my wardrobe. I recently stumbled on DrJays, and am pretty thrilled by the pieces that I found. They are going to be Summer staples for sure.
DrJays
1. Sparkle through the season with a cold shoulder top
2. Great tee for the 4th, right?
3. Fun and functional laser cut wedge
4. Add a little nautical to your look with this striped dress
5. Classic cropped jeans from Levi's
I will admit I find myself paying way too much attention to wild and crazy trends. Recently I have found myself paying much more attention to more classic pieces and looks. One of the places that I have really taken a liking to is LL Bean. They have a great collection is classic pieces that are not going to break the bank. These are the pieces on my wish list:
06_06.jpg
1. Nothing says Americana chic like gingham, right?
2. Polka dots add a fun print to the classic camp shirt
3. Chic and flattering cargo jacket great for Spring and Fall
4. Rock this Parisian inspired tee with red lips for a lovely feminine look
5. Classic tote bag - I had one of these all through college and it held up to my clumsiness amazingly well!
If you are like me, you have always been familiar with Coach, but mostly for their lovely leather handbags. While they still make these classic bags (with 3.0% Cash Back!), I recently caught wind of another fabulous Coach offering: Shoes!
05_31.jpg
Even better: they are having a fantastic shoe sale. They have lots of great styles and are constantly adding more. Sneakers, sandals, wedges, flats, and more. Their footwear features the same classic look and craftsmanship that has been synonymous with the Coach brand for years. They are offering Double Cash Back via the Ebates Shoes & Handbags sale, so scuttle over and check out their shoe sale before all the best shoes are gone!
Hello lovelies, it's Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls! With Ebates Shoes & Bags Week in full swing, I thought now would be a perfect time to share my favorite summer sandals with you!
kristin2.JPG
I'm sure you've noticed how big a trend neon is this year. I'm no slave to trends, but I do get excited when I love one because that means there will be no shortage of options out there in the old shoposphere.
dolcevita.JPG
When I came across the neon pink DV by Dolce Vita Archer Sandals, I immediately fell in love! I'm currently expecting a little lady bean...In fact, I have only a couple weeks to go until I get to my meet my baby girl, so heels have pretty much been off the table for a while now. I love a killer pair of statement making heels, but, unfortunately, my preggers feet do not. Luckily, my Archer sandals still make a heckuva statement.
From the bold neon hue to the gold details, the Archer is the kind of shoe that gets noticed! You can snag your own pair on sale at Piperlime for $44.99! Did I mention that Ebates is offering 7% cash back at Piperlime right now? Score!
If you've ever happened upon Beauty on the C.H.E.A.P., you know I'm addicted to all things trendy. I had hoped that as the years went on I'd start developing a taste for "classic" and "sensible" pieces, but alas that ain't happenin' anytime soon! But here's the catch, my addiction can be be your goldmine if you too are looking for ways to stay cute and trendy without breaking the bank.
So let's talk Spring 2012, shall we? I could go on for days about my love affair with neons and pastels this year, but I'll spare you and cut right to the chase.  My internal trendometer was beeping off the charts a few months ago when I spotted what I knew was going to be huge for Spring 2012. Clutches. Of course they've been around forever, but they've taken a surprising turn this spring and have popped up in just about every apparel and accessory store in every color imaginable. So, I would be totally remiss if I didn't bring you the low down on how to score some fabulous clutches at amazing prices via Ebates' cash back incentives.
 dimepieceonadime.jpg
First stop? Target.  Sometimes I wonder why I even bother going to any other store when Target always manages to stay on trend and offer great deals on everything under the sun.
Take for instance:
  • Mossimo Black Clutch- $12.99. I know you don't normally think of black as a spring color, but trust me. You want to have a black clutch thrown in with your staples. You'll use it on date night or when you want to go for a more understated (but ever trendy) look.
  • Xhilaration® Pink Clutch- $12.99. Nothing says hello spring like a cute pink clutch. If you want to try some color blocking match this with dark skinnies, green flats, white top and voila! Chic on the cheap!
Not to be outdone, Asos.com, likewise offers great finds you can have delivered to your door completely free of charge. No minimum! And though the prices might be slightly higher than Target,  Ebates routinely offers up to date coupon codes you can use in addition to the cash back incentive. Just take a gander at these lovelies:
  1. Green ASOS Metal Bar Detail Envelope Clutch-$32.72
  2. Nude Faux Snake Skin ASOS Slot Through Envelope Clutch- $36.36
  3. Multi Colored ASOS Metal Bar Detail Envelope Clutch-$32.72
  4. Turquoise ASOS Slot Through Portfolio Clutch $36.36
For under $40 a piece all of these clutches offer the right amount of pop to any Spring outfit. What are you waiting for? Get clutchin'!
Are you tired of spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on eyeglasses? It's quite a difficult question to answer because most of us actually need our prescription glasses to see. So the real question is: are you ready to stop paying an arm and a leg for something that should cost a fraction of that price?? Buying eyeglasses online is quickly becoming the newest phenomenon to ever hit the optical world. Since glasses have been around, they've generally been sold way over the price of cost, and until recently the optical industry was making upwards in two to three hundred percent profit! The cost to produce quality frames and actual prescription lenses truly isn't that much; so why overcharge the consumers???
GlassesUSA.com doesn't!
They guarantee that all of their customers will receive affordable prescription eyeglasses and frames without sparing any of the quality!!
Not convinced yet to buy glasses online because of all of the small and important details - like prescription knowledge, frame size, etc? GlassesUSA.com offers so many helpful tools on their site for all of those concerns! With a helpful FAQ page, and everything broken down to the smallest detail, you'll be able to put through a complicated order all by yourself! If you do have any questions or concerns they're extremely knowledgeable and helpful customer service can be reached at 1-800-917-7083.
They even offer a Virtual Mirror application that allows you to see what the frames will look like on! This will help you to choose your new pair that fits your face and your style - without a pesky salesman breathing down your neck!
Honestly, why would you even think about getting eyeglasses elsewhere? Go order glasses today!
On November 2, 2011 something very special happens. No, it isn't the beginning of Fall, or Daylight Savings Time. It is Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale.
Why is this special?
Because as a budget fashionista it is the perfect time to snag late Summer and early Fall fashion for less. To celebrate this, I've teamed up with Ebates to host a $250 giveaway. Consider it $250 to spend as you please, but if you're like me, it will be at Nordstrom.
I love shopping at Nordstrom. I love the quality, customer service, and selection. Shopping their Half-Yearly Sale is my chance to get quality designer pieces for at least 50% off retail value. Did I mention that Nordstrom has FREE shipping and FREE returns? So if the killer red sweater I purchased looks better on the model, it can be returned guilt free.
If you're a regular to Nordstrom, I suggest signing up for the Nordstrom Credit Card. You'll earn double reward points which add up to a $20 Nordstrom Cash Reward. Of course when I shop through Ebates I will get an additional 3.0% Cash Back.
For more info on this can't-miss giveaway, join me over at Kansas City Mamas.
Hot on the heels of the Emmy fashion red carpet parade, Kmart has announced Sofia by Sofia Vergara Collection.  You know you were waiting for the sexy star of modern family to come out with some reasonably priced lingerie, weren't you?  So what can you expect from this collection? A quick scan of Kmart.com shows me that the Sofia collection includes animal print T-shirts ($16.99), sweater-knit miniskirts ($24.99), a lace-sleeved knit dress ($36.99) and double-zip faux leather jackets ($59.99).  There's also an attention getting a leopard-print dress with corset style bodice  (pictured above on Sofia for $44.99).  It's all a bit tarty.  I'm not sure it's worthwhile as I haven't seen any of it, but the prices are in the lower range, (most pieces under $40.00.)
I think it's interesting that the line hits stores about the same time as J Lo's clothing line hits Kohl's stores. Apparently, you can't have too many discount TV diva lines for sale.   What do you think readers? Are you jonesing for some Sofia from Kmart?
An astounding 90% of women in America wear a bra that's not a perfect fit--whether it's the wrong size, cup shape, or material--because they're forced to settle for whatever they can find at their local stores. Limited sizes, messy racks and pushy sales staff make bra shopping a nightmare--until now. The perfect fit does not come from a rack.
freshpair2.jpg
If you've been lucky enough to get fit at some point, you probably felt like a million bucks for a while, but let's face it ladies--bra sizes change like the tides. You could have gained/lost weight, had a baby, had breast enhancement/reduction surgery, lived life and BAM!,those wonderful bras don't fit anymore. While it's easier to shop for bras nowadays, that doesn't mean it's gotten any easier to know which bra to buy.
We have some advice up our sleeves, but first we want to hear from you! Let us know, what is the number one thing you look for when finding the right fitting bra? Are you looking for the perfect cup enhancement? Are you looking for no-slip straps? Are you looking to minimize your cup size? Etc.
We will choose one lucky winner from your submissions to receive a $30 gift card to use at Freshpair.com!
Oh, and that advice up our sleeves? That's our new At Home Bra Fitting program. It's a brand new way to shop for bras that guarantees a perfect fit every time, and it's free! A quick phone consultation with our bra fit specialist determines your size, style and fit issues. Then she sends you a selection of bras based on your requirements that you can try on at home with your own clothes, in your own time. Keep what you love, send back what you don't and only pay for what you keep. There's no pressure to buy and shipping is free both ways. It's like your own private fitting room with all the expert advice you need.
So, after you've told us what you're looking for in fit, and therefore entered to win thegift card, call us today at 866-663-6613 and we'll help you get back on track to starting your day in a great bra that you can feel fabulous about!
While I love window shopping at Neiman Marcus as much as the next girl (and venturing in on occasion), many luxurious pieces are just not in my budget. When I splurge on a purchase, I do love the Cash Back, but there has been an emergence of great design and bargain prices.
Happy Fashion Week lovelies! Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls here. Right now New York City is chock full of fashionistas either going to the shows are simply reveling in the electric atmosphere at Lincoln Center. Just a few days ago, I was a part of that crowd!
Kristin1correct.JPG
I had the pleasure of attending the Project Runway finale show on Friday. I cover Project Runway for Lifetime Moms and being able to see the collections that the remaining designers put together was an incredible experience!
Kristin2.JPG
We don't know who is in the finale as all nine remaining designers showed, but I think I could definitely hazard a good guess at this point. If Olivier doesn't make it to the end, I'll be shocked. Just sayin'!
I also managed to squeeze in a lovely dinner date with some fellow bloggers, after which I attended the Bloggers Night Out event. And let me tell you something...bloggers can DRESS y'all!
kristin3.JPG
I not only took away loads of fashion inspiration from my time at Lincoln Center, but seeing all the style bloggers decked out in their insanely cool ensembles put a few ideas in my head as well!
I have one word for you...leopard. I saw leopard prints EVERYWHERE! Luckily, animal prints have been a long time favorite of mine, so I already have a ton of it in my wardrobe. It was even the subject of my last guest post for Ebates!
Kristin4.JPG
I only wish I could have spent more than a couple days in the Big Apple this time around, so I could have soaked up more trends. Luckily, February and another New York fashion week is only five months away!
Everyone has their favorite stores, and while my list is quite long and ever-changing, there is one shop that will forever remain on my list: ModCloth. It is a vast store with interesting, vintage inspired finds (and I love earning Cash Back) that can work well with any outfit or occasion. Here are my reasons for loving ModCloth:
1. Unique coats that LOOK like I found them at a thrift store
2. So many styles of oxfords for those days that heels are just not going to happen
3. Crazy platforms that, despite the fact that I am going to break an ankle in, I MUST have!
4. Funky umbrellas that make me hope that I don't lose/break them
5. Statements rings that don't cost an arm and a leg
6. Eco-totes that make me excited for grocery shopping
7. Necklaces for any occasion
8. Cardigans that I could probably share with my boyfriend (but won't)
9. Skirts with pockets that are also flattering (I thought they were an urban legend)
10. T-Shirts that make me chuckle
August 10, 2011
Hi there, it's Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls! I'm stopping by today to share with you a fall 2011 trend that I'm loving, leopard prints.
At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in NYC this year, a favorite show that I attended was Rebecca Minkoff. She sent a spectacular leopard pant suit down the runway that made me fall in love with animal prints even more than I already was! I didn't even think that was possible!
08_08_km6
In my world, leopard prints don't even qualify as a trend because I tend to bring them out every year. For me, leopard is almost a neutral and as timeless as a red pout or mani.
If animal prints intimidate you and you aren't quite ready to go all out with a leopard pant suit, for instance, stick to small pops of visual interest in accessory form. A great pair of leopard heels or a bag can go a long way! I found all these pieces at my regular shopping haunt Nordstrom. If you just have to snag one or more of them, use Ebates and you'll earn 5% cash back!
So, what fall trends are you looking forward to sporting this year?
This time of year I always have the same internal debate: buy new glasses frames or not? My eyes will inevitably be worse at my upcoming appointment, and I admit, shopping for glasses frames is something I rather enjoy. If I decide to indulge in a new pair of glasses, I sure am looking forward to the Cash Back!
Hi my name is Laura. I am the newest blogger for Ebates. When I am not scouring the internet for the best deals, I like to spend my time watching movies, going to museums (I can often be found enjoying Blue Bottle Coffee on the SFMOMA's rooftop sculpture garden), playing with puppies, and spending lots of time outdoors. Since I like finding retro-inspired pieces, some of my favorite online shops are Urban Outfitters, ModCloth, and The Gap (I need basics too!), but I also occasionally lose many hours browsing Sephora.com since their online store is always stocked with the lipstick shade I am looking for.
My love of sale items never ceases to amaze me. In the coldest Winter I can justify breezy tank tops, and in the Summer heat, I can visualize heavy knits. When it comes to sale items there's no better time than Summer. After all, it will get cold again! Here are my favorite June sale picks.
This Confetti Sweater Dress is festive, and can be worn on those cooler evenings. It's also on trend with this season's nautical theme.
Handbags are always a must have, and this Bucket Bag is an inexpensive way to score great style without the cost.
I love a good moccasin, but what I really love is a chic flat that is versatile and laid back. Like this Candela Flat.
Velvet may seem rediculous in Summer, but this Kate Spade Bag is flirty, and makes a great contrast to Summer linens.
Cosmetics are always a "do", and this OPI Nail Polish is so fresh, it's perfect for Summer.
This jacket from ModCloth is super cute for starters, and it's also form fitting which means no added bulk. A great Fall piece!
As women we're constantly evolving, dissecting, and changing our style. One minute boho is the look, the next we're cutting off hemlines to be a Kate Spade shoe in. While change is good, it can also become a costly and chaotic endeavor. To avoid this, one must buy wisely, which I'll be the first to admit, isn't easy for me. In an effort to always feel like I have something to wear, I've purchased a few simple, yet hard working items: The Blouse.
Lapella BlouseThis Lapella Blouse is a no brainer. Not only does it have a minimalist look, but it features a thin collar that's perfect for those days when I'm wanting a tailored look. Aside from black pants or other office appropriate attire, this top also goes well over bohemian dresses, under blazers, and with just about any trend you can think of. For just $88, it's also an affordable addition to my wardrobe. Thanks to 1.5% Cash Back from J.Crew, it's also adding more cash to my wallet.
UrbanDressWe all have our favorite stores; favorite clothing stores, home and garden depots, and beauty warehouses.Sometimes these stores have frequent sales, allowing you to snag those "must haves" without the wait. And others simply keep you on edge, until they make the biggest announcement, since well, the last sale. Urban Outfitters is somewhere in between, although despite my constant scores at this hip and mid-priced retailer, I can always seem to find more than several reasons to over indulge at one of their sales. This time they're offering $20 off purchases of $100 or more with code HELLOSUMMER. Of course, there's also 2.5% Cash Back from Ebates.
By now everyone has done a bit of Summer shopping, and has seen there share of hits vs.misses.The bevy of brightly colored tops I purchased in April seemed like a good idea, until May's humidity reminded me nothing says cool like a cotton dress. Speaking of cotton dresses, this Striped Sweater Dress is just $19.99 and provides plenty of easy breezy comfort. Don't let the name fool you, this dress isn't really heavy like a sweater, it's made from linen and is perfect for hot summer days. At $19, it's also perfect for those weekend getaways that require transitional, do-it-all pieces. You know, the kind we always complain about not owning?
Let's talk about how fun Summer shopping is. The colors, airy fabrics, and peace of mind that comes from knowing you won't freeze your behind off. Yes, Summer shopping is always a fun treat, and below are just a few of my can't-miss items.
sunfuntoppicks
These Espadrilles from Eddie Bauer go from beach to street with ease.
A Straw Tote is always a must, especially when it comes with double cash back from Macys.
After years of sun worship, I'm starting to see the damaging results. I'll keep it from getting worse with this Avon SPF that protects and heals.
This Slouchy Pant from Piperlime goes great with t-shirts, beach tunics, and Summer linens.
By now you all know about my love (more like addiction) to J.Crew. This Straw Hat and Stripped Sweater only exacerbates the situation.
Summer jewelry should be fun and simple. This Anchor Ring from Shopbop is just that.
Just like this weekend's J.Crew sale, today's Buy More Save More event at Shopbop is just another reason to say yes to shoes, bags, and all things Spring. On the heels of Ebates Fashion Week, today's sale is a great chance to once again score great deals on must have fashions. Use code THINKSPRING and while you're at it earn 6.0% Cash Back!
Spend $500 and get $100 off
Spend $1500 and get $500 off
In this case, both, considering you'll just save more!
Today's guest blogger is our favorite retailer of Men's fashion, Jos.A.Bank. Read on to learn how you can look your best this Spring while getting cash back from us!
blazerIt's time to begin building your spring wardrobe. Sound complicated? It's not. Simply garner essential pieces like the ones mentioned, and then add fashion items to mix and match your look.
To start with, it's best to work with clothes you may already have in your closet. For example: wear a clean pressed pair of khaki pants with a navy blazer, fashion print dress shirt and a sharp tie. This look is great for work, casual weddings, or a night on the town.
blazer2Navy blazers can easily be dressed up or down. For a casual look wear with a polo, madras pants, and loafers. Check out our Traveler Tailored Fit blazers, they offer a slimmer cut for a modern fit. Natural stretch wool with nanotechnology makes this fabric wrinkle and stain resistant. Traveler blazers are a smart choice for those who want their wardrobe to provide years of classic style.
Layering your clothes helps with unpredictable changes in temperature. Start out with a sport shirt, add a pima cotton v-neck sweater, and top off with a complementary sportcoat. If the weather warms up then take off a layer or two.
sportcoatOne of the best parts of Spring fashion is the ability to play with colors other than Winter's dark hues. Jos.A.Banks' selection of shirts and sweaters in Spring's pastel palette is a perfect match for wardrobe staples like our signature herringbone sportcoat. This coat features a soft and luxurious blend of finely woven silk and camel hair, and may be worn year round making it a great wardrobe addition.
Complete your unique style and build your wardrobe with advice from the expert in Men's apparel, Jos. A. Bank!
Man Week
Since it's Man Week at Ebates, it's natural for me to think of the guy in my life. Being that I shop for myself quite a bit, it only seems appropriate to spend this week earning double cash back while getting a few must have items for him. Here are just a few of the items he, and I, can't live without.
1. I love a relaxed button down shirt on a man. They look great with a range of options, and they are the perfect hybrid of rugged/pulled together. J.Crew sells a great selection of shirts for men, including more utility pieces like this Chambray Shirt.
2. Thanks goodness for slim fit! Not all men are husky, nor do they want to dress in tent like clothes. Gap makes a true slim cut pant known as The Tailored Pant. It's much more flattering than wearing loose, oversized clothes.
3. When it comes to tools, there's no shortage of options. Most are unnecessary for those other than Bob Villa, however a Tool Box is a must have for any home. Nothing crazy, just a sampling of screwdrivers, hammer, nuts, bolts, and other things that make D.I.Y's easier.
4. Six months ago I introduced my guy to J.Crew and he's been a follower ever since. These MacAlister Boots have been his go-to shoe, and why not? They match just about everything from dress pants to jeans.
5. Recently I've purchased a few sweaters for Summer. Sweaters for Summer? Yes, in San Francisco they're needed. This Shawl Collar Sweater from Eddie Bauer has a bit of prep to it, and will keep him warm on foggy days.
6. It's no secret to women that sports memorabilia (posters, framed jerseys, bobble heads) is ugly. Sorry guys, but it is. With that being said, I've found the perfect way to involve your guy's love for his team without destroying decor. Small objects like this Bottle Opener do the trick. Does he insist you hang his vintage MVP poster? Make it more pleasing to the eye with a new frame.
7. Quite possibly the most essentially wardrobe item (besides boxers). This Three Pack of t-shirts will give my guy fresh options when laundry day is far away. Be sure to keep extra on hand, as these can go missing. Presumably to the same place as socks.
8. There are a few pairs of shoes every man should own, one of which is a hiking shoe. This Merrell Hiking Boot is great for hiking, as well as other outdoor activities. I have the women's version and they keep my ankles steady and my feet dry. Of course you'll also want to invest in a good pair of hiking socks too.
springBy now you've shopped for Spring, or at the very least, you've thought about shopping for Spring. Maybe you purchased one of this season's adorable crossbody bags, or maybe you made a wish list at your favorite retailer. Either way, Spring and all it's fashion glory, is on everyone's mind. On this same note I advise you to not miss the awesomeness that is Spring Fashion Week. Granted, my shopping habits are a bit erratic and indecisive, yet even I was able to put more money in my wallet while shopping the latest trends. If you're a bit more stable than I am when it comes to shopping, you'll really enjoy our set of stores and their doubled cash back.
One of my favorite shopping destinations is J.Crew which just so happens to be at 6.0% Cash Back this week. I love shopping there for essentials like chambray shirts, or classic wedges. Saks Fifth Avenue is a favorite haunt of mine when I need something a bit more on the designer side, and I can be found coveting anything Helmut Lang on a regular basis. Eddie Bauer and Lands End offer on trend clothes for women who want less flash and more comfort. I love these brands because they mix well with other more trendy items, like maxi dresses in bold prints, or gladiator sandals. Whatever your taste, it would be almost criminal to miss Spring Fashion Week at Ebates. By the time May's Big Fat Check rolls around, you'll already have a fashionable wardrobe, and a chunk of cash in your wallet.
weddingblogIt wasn't too long ago The Knot Wedding Shop wrote a guest blog for the Ebates blog. Fast forward 2 months, and wedding season has kicked into full gear. So much so that I can't help but be swept into a world filled with tulle, ribbon, and invitations that have a hand made appeal. Having spent the better part of yesterday consumed with all things wedding, I'm well equipped to bring you the latest wedding news, inspirations, and ways to make money. Make money off your wedding? Through Ebates you can!
Where To Shop
Perhaps the best thing to happen to weddings, boutique style wedding shops are popping up in your favorite online retailers. Forget department store settings, giant wedding retailers, and clamoring over the last dress. Instead check out wedding collections at J.Crew and coming soon, Shopbop. Both offer cash back and carry dresses for the bride and her maids. J.Crew carries suits for men, and clothing for the younger and more adorable members of the bridal party.
Where To Look For Inspiration
Wedding blogs are rampant these days, with most offering juicy inspiration and plenty of gawk factor. I love looking at other bride's achievements because it gets my own creative process flowing. For this I turn to RuffledBlog and The Pretty Blog.
Where To Register
Registering for a wedding has old roots, and was commonplace when newlyweds were younger and starting out in life. Today most couples have accumulated their own housewares prior to marriage, so registries have become about what the couple aspires to get. Stores like Crate and Barrel and Bloomingdales offer items for the home that are a step above. You can also add a gift card to the registry and save it for future purchases (like a crib). Side Note: If registering at Crate and Barrel be sure to enter their $100,000 Wedding Giveaway. It's any bride's dream.
Where To Find Everything Else
Each wedding is unique, as is each wedding party. Some weddings are informal and others are not, yet they all involve those closest to the couple. The Knot Wedding Shop offers everything from favors to gifts for the bridal party, and you'll get 6.5% Cash Back.
Where To Find The Venue
While I did my (throat clearing) research I kept stumbling across Here Comes The Guide. Beyond the clever name, this site allows you to search venue by state, region, and even theme. Want a barnyard wedding? How about a forest adventure in your nearest state park? You'll find it all here.
Where To Order Invitations
The latest trend in paper goods involves handmade techniques like stamping, calligraphy, and delicate details like hand sewn edges. Fairly new to Ebates, Minted.com carries wedding invitations, baby announcements, and just about everything you could probably need. With thousands of idea, every bride can find what suites her best.
Average ParentToday's Guest Blogger is The Average Parent. Although most of the country is under snow and/or freezing temperatures, Spring is around the corner. Join The Average Parent as she gives her tips on how to shop for Spring without breaking the bank.
Here in the Midwest, we've been experiencing a bit of a heat wave. That's right, it's 45 degrees today! While it's still February, this break in temperature has got me thinking about Spring and the beginning of another shopping season for my kids. Although I have two boys, I still put a lot of effort into making sure they look extra cute. But, because they're boys, I understand they must be able to play in their clothes. Below are my favorite tricks to finding the hottest fashions for the best prices.
Online Clearance Racks - I dread the idea of picking through clearance racks for the perfect shirt. Instead, once the boys are in bed, I head online to find the best deals. Ideal places to look include Kohl's, Target, Macy's and JCPenney.
Second Hand - eBay can be a super convenient resource for finding gently-used clothing. The site allows you to sort your search by size, brand, price and more.
Coupons, Coupons, Coupons - Before you shop, check out Ebates for printable coupons and online discount codes. If you can't find a coupon online, many retailers will send you one just for signing up for their email alerts.
Get Cash Back - When shopping online, always start with Ebates. Membership is completely FREE and you can earn anywhere from 1-30% cash back at more than 1,200 stores.
Join a Rewards Program - If you have a favorite retailer, inquire about a free rewards program that will give you store credit for shopping in their store.
Store Credit Cards - A store card can get you free shipping or save you as much as 10% off your purchases. But, it's not worth it if you don't pay it off before interest begins accumulating.
Today's guest blogger hails from Azalea. Not only is Azalea San Francisco's most fashion forward boutique, but their also the newest addition to Ebates. Read on for their breakdown of Spring 2011 trends.
Like a squirt of Binaca before an after school makeout sesh at the bike racks, Spring 2011 has us softened up before setting adrift on memory bliss, borrowing elements from the 40's, 70's and 90's to gently blow us into a new decade.
jewelrySpring2010
This Spring Erin Wasson channels Burning Man, but warning: Must be young and sexy to attempt; you can't be that pasty weekend warrior from accounting! Mystic symbols like triangles, moons, and ankhs, are showing up on a t-shirt near you. Expect to also see destroyed leather boots, distressed linen sweaters, crocheted shawls, crop tops, macrame vests, soft vintage tanks, beat up leather jackets, and one soft flannel (potentially borrowed from your deadbeat "drummer" boyfriend).
Jewelry counters this Spring will be an explosion of the best summer camp craft table ever imagined, although re-worked using fine materials. Silver, turquoise, feathers, the sexy ironic bolo tie (!!!), friendship bracelets, macramé, leatherwork, and finally metal beads that look suspiciously like macaroni will be everywhere. Big and chunky is the size of the season, serving as a nice punctuation for the floaty, faded florals, worn denim and nudes in this season's ready-to-wear.
SpringTrends-1
Denim brands across all price points are offering more styles in higher rises ranging from mid to high-waist. Trouser cut and wide legs are back in town after a short hiatus. On top you'll see oversize tees tucked into high rise denim and cinched with a braided leather belt, a maxi skirt paired with a seamed floral bustier or bandeau, and I guarantee you will see an overall or two make an appearance later on in the season.... with both straps properly latched, thank you very much!
Here at Azalea, we are particularly excited about a new line from Amsterdam called Maison Scotch, a Woman's collection from the makers of Scotch and Soda. They have playfully embraced the vintage nautical trend in their Spring collection with tea dyed cotton shirts, belted chambray dresses, and striped canvas naval jackets with rope tie hoods. Most pieces retail between $100 and $200. Don't forget to check out the overalls properly fastened
See, told you so ;)
Hello hello! This is Tiffany from I am Style-ish and I'm so excited to be guest blogging over here as I'm a huge fan of Ebates!
The Holidays are here and cocktail dresses are on my mind. They are my favorite Holiday party attire and to help you dress for the onslaught of party season I've gathered a few pretty picks from my favorite department store: Nordstrom. I'm probably biased because I live in Seattle where Nordstrom was first started, but I always find what I'm looking for, not to mention I'll get 5.0% Cash Back from Ebates.
Calvin Klein Satin DressCalvin Klein Satin Dress $158
How pretty is this purple? I love these kinds of dresses because they offer just the right amount of sexiness. This dress features a pleated sweetheart neckline, and a appropriate knee length. Add sheer black tights and dark embellished heels and your look is complete. Speaking of embellished...
Kenneth Cole DressKenneth Cole Sequin Tank Dress $129
Holidays are a fabulous time for sequins! I love this one because it's not too flashy. Add some black tights, heels and a pretty clutch and you're set for a dinner party! I should also mention the tank design is laid back enough to make this dress work for more than dinner parties. Try wedge heels and a heavy cardigan for a funky day look.
Now on to heels!
Badgley MischkaBadgley Mischka Bow Platform Pumps $200
If you read my blog you know that I have quite a love for sky high heels and I would never go to a party without the proper footwear. These Badgley Mischka pumps feature a 5 inch heel and a bow I can't get enough of. They would make the perfect addition to this season's neutral palette.
Hope all these get you all in the mood for some fun holiday parties!  Happy Shopping!
There are stores you love, and there are stores you love. ModCloth is of the latter and when they joined the Ebates team there was a collective yes! by the women of Ebates. We're trying to get the guys as excited but it's proving a bit more difficult. Shopping for yourself may be a back burner occasion during the holidays, but keep in mind ModCloth is more than a site from which you can re-imagine your wardrobe on a budget, It's also a one stop shop for gifts. From home items to clothing and accessories there's plenty of reasons to shop this site.
Here are my reasons
November HolidayThis is me (not literally, I don't moonlight as a model) puzzled and pondering. What am I so curious about? The weather! Is it an Indian Summer, or Fall? Winter or Spring? San Francisco weather can't seem to make up it's mind and my wardrobe is suffering. My apartment too, as I pulled out my cold weather items only to leave them stranded in a corner gathering dust. To the rescue is Bloomingdales and they're Friends and Family sale.
Now I can stock up on items to get me through the chaos and with 3.0% Cash Back.
Wilderness BlazerA transitioning season means versatility is required and this Wilderness Blazer by Elizabeth and James is just the thing I need. When the temperature drops I can wear this as a coat and make use of the additional layer. When the weather is warmer than usual I can remove the blazer and simply wear the vest paired over my favorite knits. Now 40% off, I'll save an extra 20% by using code FFSAVE.
Of course there are other items that make inconsistent weather more enjoyable, but that's another blog.
LoveMaeganWhat I'm Wearing
-Cynthia Steffe floral print silk dress from GILT.
-Vintage leopard print blouse worn under.
-Sweater vest/cardigan from Alloy.
-Vintage black belt with gold buckle.
-Vintage gold necklace & gold hoop earrings.
-American Apparel Shiny Stirrup Tights.
-Calvin Klein snakeskin pumps.
-Tom Ford cat eye {anouk} sunglasses.
-Vintage Gucci bag from eBay {years ago}.
As a lover of all things fashion, over-the-top, and fabulous, print mixing falls directly into all three of those categories, yet is one of the more difficult trends to master. Wearing a bold leopard print blouse under a bold abstract floral print dress is well, a bold move, but there are more subtle ways you can mix prints. While I find leopard fairly easy to mix with any print, you may want to start with something simpler like stripes and polka-dots, or stripes and a small floral print. Combining similar color schemes is an easy approach as is matching the print intensity. I've chosen the open sweater vest in solid black to break up and differentiate my prints a bit here, but if you notice, they have a similar intensity and look to them. So what are you waiting for? Go check in your closet and pull all your prints out and hold them up to each other. I bet you can find something that works. Don't be shy!
Rainy Dy Fashion
When the weather isn't cooperating there are two options for coping; the first is to lament and show the world how disgruntled you are by wearing dark and dreary clothing. The second option is to say c'est la vie, rain happens, and it's not going to put a damper on my day. Before I turn into an over enthusiastic life coach, I'll get to the good stuff. Shopping!
There are things in life I stumble onto and develop such passion that I can only think "where have you been all my life". While I realize this may be a tad dramatic, there are things that truly move me. Things like my penchant for roasted banana ice cream. My latest addition to the OMG folder is House Of Fraser. I have no clue how this went unnoticed, but the discovery of this store comes at the perfect time.
Missoni TowelThis past weekend I finally started swapping Summer items with Fall decor. As I added dried flowers and cinnamon candles to my home I quickly realized my bathroom was still pastel Spring. Problem solved with this Missoni Towel. The colors are fun, but dark enough to be considered Fall appropriate. Plus it's Missoni. I'm already imagining these folded on my bathroom shelf set next to antique bottles and my shell collection.
Zebra SweaterOf course a girl can't shop for towels without thinking of other Fall items, so I checked out the knits section and came across this fun Zebra Sweater. Am I fan of zebras? Not exactly, but I am a fan of loose fitting knits that scream "Sunday". This will go perfect with my black denim and Frye Harness Boots and with $3.50 Cash Back I can't exactly go wrong.
Check out House of Fraser for men's and women's clothing, home decor, furniture, and more. All with $3.50 Cash Back
Price Comparison
When you're a single girl living in the beautiful, and expensive metropolis known as San Francisco, keeping up on trends can be a costly endeavor. In my years spent scouring stores, I've found the easiest way to score a deal is to comparison shop. Being a self-appointed deal expert, I happen to have a knack for comparison shopping.
In this vein, I have featured three must have items at three very different price points. Each item is available through Ebates with cash back, meaning single girls everywhere can stay on trend, while staying off their landlord's radar.
LookForLess
No need to introduce today's guest blogger, her name says it all. Fashion for less? Yes please!
Hi Ebates Members,
I'm Jennifer from TheLooksForLess.com and I am so excited to be guest posting for Ebates! If you've ever visited my blog before then you know that I am ADDICTED to recreating celebrity looks using pieces that are far more affordable than designer options. In addition to getting the look for less, you can save even more by getting paid to shop these items through Ebates.
My challenge for this post: recreate Jessica Simpson's look using items that are all under $100 and from stores that are all part of Ebates. Mission accomplished and to be honest, I think I actually prefer the "look for less"! What do you think? Would you wear Jessica's look for less?
October Must Haves
As October marches on I've finally been bitten by the Fall Fashion bug. Funny since San Francisco is set to have yet another heatwave and I've just purchased black jeans and a black maxi dress. Oh well, it won't last forever and chilly weather is on it's way. Speaking of chilly weather, I'm coveting warm fabrics like suede, cashmere, and wool, however until this heatwave subsides I'll have to contend with Summer dresses and cute wedges. Life could be worse.
T By Alexander Wang Maxi Dress from Shopbop.
Frye Harness Boots from BootBarn.
Carrington Necklace from J.Crew.
Placemat Set and Canvas Pillow both from Burke Decor.
Vince Cashmere Sweater from Tobi.
Mademoiselle Candle from Barneys New York.
Nanette Leopore Handbag from Bloomingdales.
Alexander McQueen Skull Ring from Saks Fifth Avenue.
Jeffrey Campbell Wedges from Urban Outfitters.
Manette DressTonight I have the pleasure of seeing Aida at the San Francisco Opera, and despite my excitement I am also stressing over what to wear. It's not often that opera's, symphonies, and formal dining are part of my repertoire, yet owning proper attire for such occasions is paramount to having a well rounded wardrobe. While tonight's outfit remains a mystery, I can prepare for the upcoming season of parties, get-togethers, and everything festive while racking up cash back.
Shopping for a dress is arguably harder than shopping for jeans as dresses are so specific. A one shouldered gown is perfect for black tie, but over the top for dinner. A strapless mini is ideal for dancing, but looks tarty if worn to the office Christmas party. Ultimately a girl should own a dress for each occasion, and for a night at the opera this Manette Dress by Diana Von Furstenberg is perfect. It's streamlined silohuette has an understated elegance not common with today's frilly frocks, but before you think boring, this dress is easy to accessorize. Add a waist belt for a downtown look, or string on pearls and keep the look high class. Either way you'll get 6.0% Cash Back and always have something to wear. Which, needless to say, is priceless.
Accessory Report
It's easy for me to loose myself in Fall fashion and overlook the other major contributor to a woman's wardrobe; accessories. While I've vowed to not spend a dime until I can make smart and rational shopping decisions, a girl can't help but fantasize so I've compiled just a smidgen of the many accessory choices available through Ebates stores. Each item represents a major trend this season, and whether you embrace it as a shoe or take it on as a full outfit you'll enjoy the benefits of cash back.
Military Shoes from Saks Fifth Avenue.
Shearling Boots from Nordstrom.
Leopard Bag from Tory Burch.
Camel Gloves from Bluefly.
Navajo Bag from Urban Outfitters.
In case you missed the buzz circulating through our Twitter and Facebook pages, Piperlime is having a three day sale, with each day a substantial way to save. Sadly today is the last day but take heart, there's still a chance for you to save 15% with code 15SPREE. In case you're new to Piperlime (which is highly unlikely) or you don't fully comprehend the awesomeness they offer, I've collected a few items to get you excited and shopping!
It should also be mentioned today is the last day for 15.0% Cash Back thanks to Fall Fashion Week!
AloysaShoes
Piperlime is known for it's drool worthy shoe collection including picks by fashion maven Rachel Zoe. In keeping with Fall trends I picked these Aloysa boots. When choosing an over-the-knee boot I believe heeled options are best. These feature a platform heel so they're comfortable and are priced at a cool $139. Talk about shoes for girls on a budget a.k.a me.
Striped SweaterClothing
Roughly 2 years ago Piperlime started carrying clothing by top brands such as Vince, Free People and affordable/chic clothing line Patterson J. Kincaid. This Striped Sweater is the perfect Late Summer/Early Fall sweater and it is a perfect match to the Aloysa boot. Add black denim and viola! Cute outfit with 15.0% Cash Back.
Doctor BagHandbags
Equally exciting as shopping for shoes is shopping for new handbags. I am in desperate, like desperate need of a new handbag and this one by MZ Wallace is among top contenders. Featuring a structured Doctor-esque look and bonus shoulder strap, I can use this for multiple occasions and look chic every time.
This past weekend I made the official switch to cooler weather wear and in the process discovered I'm in desperate need of pants. As stated several if not hundreds of times before, I have a tendency to purchase tops, completely neglecting my lower half in the process. Without delving deep into the psyche of a shopper I think my penchant for buying tops stems from any one of the following reasons; tops are more exciting to the eye than pants, they cure "fat" days, and they don't require scrutiny of my lower half - something every woman tries to avoid. Unable to avoid this issue anymore I've mapped out my path to pantalones salvation.
Flared DenimThe Flared Jean.
Pros: Flattering to derriere and hips, making a huge comeback.
Cons: Could make a huge retreat, to the back of my closet.
This pair by 7 For All Mankind does go with my assortment of hippie/peasant tops and I'm quite certain my legs are in desperate need of a breather after years of skin tight denim. Find them at Saks Fifth Avenue.
Slim CargoThe Slim Cargo.
Pros: Slim, sexy, and versatile.
Cons: Possible fleeting trend.
Seen everywhere these pants could possibly be the piece that goes with every top I own. I've got the perfect suede booties to wear these with and they're a perfect match with my assortment of cashmere sweaters. Right now these are on sale for $55 at J.Crew.
Black DenimThe Black Jean.
Pros: Slimming, dressier option than standard denim.
Cons: There really are no cons, black jeans are a must.
To say my black jeans have seen better days is a huge understatement as they can no longer be considered black. Despite the great care I've taken to preserve their color, fading is a part of life and after 3 years it's time to move on.These cigarette jeans from Shopbop are just the thing I need; they're dark, slim, and with no frills. I'm sure I don't need to mention they'll go with everything and if left out of the dryer and washed with a detergent made for darks, I'm sure they'll last me the next three years.
Fall Trends I'm Loving
Now that Fall Fashion Week has arrived there's plenty of shopping, wardrobe planning, and cash back to be earning. In the spirit of this I've taken to hunting down a few of my favorite Fall trends. All items are shopable through Ebates stores and you'll get cash back too!
For those who think they've got what it takes to walk the runway we're holding a Fashion Photo Contest until Tuesday September 21st. Enter your photo and you could win a $500 Ebates shopping spree!
Items are listed clockwise from left
Fur Gilet.- Fur is huge this season and eBay offers thousands of fur vests, coats, scarves, you get the point. Shop every price range as well as faux and real options. Shopping clothing at eBay will add 2.0% Cash Back to your Ebates account.
Silk Maxi Dress  - Truly a Summer to Fall cross over, the maxi dress gets a cool weather makeover with the addition of boots and mid weight jacket. I love the purple tones of the one above. Shop this dress at ASOS and get 3.5% Cash Back.
Flared Denim - Is skinny denim over? I can't say for sure, but flared denim is making a comeback. Shop this pair at Shopbop and get 6.0% Cash Back. If only I had kept the pairs I owned in high school!
Shearling Coat - Shearling is always relevant during colder months but never has it been so trendy. This jacket by Vince (a.k.a my favorite brand) has a leather body with sleek shearling trim. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue you'll receive 5.0% Cash Back.
Clog Boots - I've stated before that clogs are returning, yet not even I could have imagined how just much they've returned. The introduction of hybrid clog/boots is making me think this trend is here to stay. This pair is available at Shopbop with 6.0% Cash Back.
Satchel Handbag - Much to my satisfaction handbags are getting a bit smaller and more refined. Although I love my slouchy leather bags, a tote similar to this one by Marc By Marc Jacobs instantly polishes any outfit. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue this bag will add 5.0% Cash Back to your Ebates account.
Wrap Sweater - I've already mentioned this item in a recent blog post, but since wrap sweaters are a major trend this Fall I reasoned one more mention wouldn't hurt. Available at Bloomingdales I'll receive 6.0% Cash Back, and quite possibly die from excitement.
I'm one of those girls who likes to consider myself a nature junkie much to the amusement of my stepfather who is a mountain man in every sense of the word. The joke perhaps comes from varying opinions as to what constitutes a nature junkie; to him it's working in the Forest Service and living off the land, to me it's overlooking the forest from the balcony of a quaint cottage, or if I'm dreaming big a log cabin. This isn't to say that I can't handle the great outdoors, on the contrary I love to camp, yet there are times when I'd rather emulate this sort of life through apparel. This season wrap sweaters are everywhere (including Bloomingdales) and to fully channel all sides of my personality I've chosen two separate pieces. One for the city slicker, and one for the nature junkie. Even if the later is up for debate.
Cynthia Vincent WrapThe Country Gal
A weekend getaway to the mountains is always well received after life in the city gets overwhelming. To stay warm on frosty mornings this Aurora Borealis Blanket Sweater (no snuggie reference please) by Cynthia Vincent does the trick plus it calls to the moccasin girl living in all of us. Away from the city I'll pair this with cozy wool socks, within city limits I'll do as the model does and pair with skinny denim and rugged boots.
Vince CardiganThe City Slicker
You can spot a true city slicker by their boisterous claims of the hardship that is city living, yet when asked if they'll leave the answer is always a resounding "no". I am one of these people and when living in a concrete jungle somber attire is always a fashion do. Not to be confused with boring, somber colors like black and grey are paramount to dressing with ease. This Vince Cashmere-Wool Cardigan is done in a simple palette yet it's stripe print and drape cut are fabulously chic, and appropriate for any city setting. I've become a follower of open cardigans, yet this does double duty and buttons into a jacket. Perfect for when city streets turn into wind tunnels. Perfect for my wallet is 3.0% Cash Back.
Now that I have two distinct wraps for my opposing tastes it's time to seek the proper footwear!
Back-to-School-With-Ebates
Despite being out of school for nearly a decade each September reminds me of textbooks, study halls, and of course Back to School fashion. While some may hop onto whatever trendwagon is rolling by, I prefer to usher in Fall with classic items such as a professor cardigan, a carry-all satchel, and the right pair of cords.
Our guest blogger ThriftyMamaB dishes out savvy shopping Back to School style. The secret? She shops from the comfort of her own home and gets cash back with Ebates.
Kids want to look their best when going back to school, and school hallways are quickly turned into fashion runways. One of my favorite stores to shop is Kohls where you'll get double cash back through Ebates. This week you'll save up to 60% off during the Lowest Prices of the Season Sale. You can also get an additional 15% off clearance, sale, and regular priced items with coupon code LOWPRICE15.
Boys DenimTo get my kindergartner set for school I bought him a pair of Sonoma Straight Leg Jeans (regular $24) on sale for $9.99. As with most boys the knees of his jeans tend to wear thin, but thanks to a great price I was able to add several pairs to his school wardrobe. Hopefully I won't have to buy any more this year!
Madras ShirtWhile browsing the clearance section I found a Chaps Madras Plaid Shirt for only $6.60, but thanks to a 15% off coupon the total was $5.61. Also available in the clearance section are Chaps long sleeve shirts for $9.60. Feel free to stock up as orders of $50 or more receive free standard shipping with coupon code YOUR50 (valid through 8/29).
Eyelash TopI love the color of this Juniors Eyelash Top set on sale for only $5.60. The combination of dressy and casual is perfect for teen girls. Other must have sale picks are Tony Hawk Collection boys tees for $10.99 (save 54%) and brands such as Urban Pipeline and Mudd.
Even if you don't shop the clearance section you can still find fabulous sale prices with up to 60% off during Kohls Lowest Prices of the Season Sale. On days when the weather will not cooperate I'm content to stay home, shop in my pj's, and get paid to shop Back To School. Wouldn't you agree?
Shop MadewellIn the world of fashion there are girls you envy, girls you can't stand, and girls you want to be friends with. Alexa Chung fits the bill for all three of these things, although my reasons for not being able to stand her are more like "I can't stand how adorable she is".
This being said I also envy her style, more directly her ability to mix boyish charm with school girl frocks and it just works. Could be her modelesque stature or her smokey eyes that turn every outfit into a best dressed nominee, or it could be that she simply has the innate ability to dress well. Something I've had to learn through years of trial and error.
Alexa-Chung-for-Madewell
As if to answer mine and I'm sure plenty of other women's prayers, Alexa teamed up with Madewell to create a capsule collection designed in her unique esthetic. Aptly titled Alexa Chung for Madewell, this slice of heaven features the same pieces that made her style famous like sixties secretary blouses combined with boyfriend blazers, sweet dresses paired with knit stockings and oxford flats a la the 1940's, and high waisted denim topped with the perfectly tied scarf. All in all the collection is Alexa herself; low key, a bit vintage, and ultimately flattering. The collection debuts at Madewell on September 9th and by shopping through Ebates you'll receive 1.0% Cash Back. That's something to be envious of!
Men's-Fall-Fashion
Men's-Fall-Fashion2
I don't believe in following trends but I am a firm believer in having my money and things work hard for me. In order to achieve that, I put my dollar on pieces that will give me mileage for years to come and then some. In other words - pieces that stand the test of time.
Picking out worthy, bang-for-your-buck products (both fashion and grooming) is a big part of what I do for Style Flavors and today, I'm sharing my Fall picks with you guys at Ebates.
1. Cardigans are ubiquitous not just in times of cooler winds but during warmer Summer nights too. Hence, they are wardrobe requisites that can also pull double duty - at work and play. The above Black Emblem Cardigan by Comme Des Garcons' younger line, Play ($376 -available at Tobi) stands out in the sea of cardigans with its fun, iconic heart motif. The grey works for all occasions while the black heart says it all with its individualistic quiet playfulness - perfect for days when you want a quick sartorial pick-me-up that never gets old. 2.5% Cash Back sweetens this up.
2. I like to think of my leather jackets as the Berkshire Hathaway stocks of my wardrobe - they are my sartorial investments. Leather jackets are pricey because a good one will last for years and even decades, not to mention they never go out of style. If you're not ready to make a hefty investment just yet but still want to get in on the action, then this Diesel "Lafsh" Leather Zip Up Jacket ($400) from Bloomingdales would be perfect. From the crinkled broken-in leather to the awesome zip-detail on the sleeves; my money is on this bad-ass piece. By shopping at Bloomingdales you'll receive 3.0% Cash Back.
3. This Fall, stay toasty in military-inspired style with this Military Mockneck Cardigan from Gap ($69.50). The standing collar offers dashing structure while the big buttons provide both contrast and complimentary detail that never gets old. The two side pockets further enhances the good-looking utilitarian vibe of this piece. Speaking of utilitarian, you can always find a use for the 2.0% Cash Back at Gap.
4. Hoodies don't always get the best rep. That said, they don't have to look sloppy. This NSF Terry Pullover Hoodie from Barneys New York features contrasting darker tape-like detail on the top of the sleeves and hem so the look is both simple and arresting for a more polished feel. The kangaroo pockets provide both form and function; use them to store essentials and keep your hands warm. The light grey is flattering and works all year round. If you're constantly traveling or simply lounging in front of the TV, this would be a great companion to keep you toasty and stylish at the same time. Get 2.5% Cash Back from Barneys New York.
5. The versatility of leather sneakers like this pair of Fendi Leather Sneakers ($620) will come in handy on days when you need to dress up but don't want the associated stuffiness. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue this sleek pair with its subtle perforated logo detail has a quiet understated refinement that works on all days. Shop Saks Fifth Avenue and get 2.5% Cash Back.
6. A chambray shirt provides the distinct pleasure of something vintage in a modern package. This Vintage Chambray Utility Shirt from J.Crew ($98) will go the extra step and provide a ruggedness that still maintains a city sophistication. Be it with shorts in the Summer or chinos in the Fall; this is one look that just works. Shop at J.Crew and receive 1.0% Cash Back.
What happens when you're the daughter of the world's most famous pop icon responsible for entire decade(s) worth of fashion influence? What happens when you're a teenage girl with access to mom's legendary closet?
You start a clothing line and name it after one of mom's iconic songs. Duh.
Material-Girl-at-MacysSay hello to Lourdes Ciccone or Lola as mom a.k.a. Madonna calls her. The thirteen year old pop heiress is no longer known as the girl with the luckiest lineage, but as the creator of Material Girl, a junior's line available at Macys. Naturally influenced by mom's renowned style the collection features tulle skirts, zebra prints, and bedazzled denim jackets, all priced between $5 to $45. In anticipation of Back to School shopping and what teens will be wearing, there's also a Material Girl Blog full of trends, cool pics, and the musings of Lola.
Speaking of trends, aside from nostalgic items like cross necklaces and leather jackets reminiscent of Desperately Seeking Susan there's also current trends like graphic tees, adorable flats, and military jackets. In other words everything a fashion seeking teenager could want. As for what the parents want, Ebates takes care of that with cash back.
Shop Motherhood MaternityGuest Blogger Erica from eeendeavors.com shares her story of shopping on a budget, and why Motherhood Maternity saved her style.
Long, long ago (nearly a decade), I was in the market for maternity clothes and being on a mom-to-be budget, my options were limited to Goodwill and beg, borrow or steal. Being introduced to online shopping and retailers like MotherhoodMaternity.com changed all that.
I became a fan of Motherhood Maternity because it's a one stop shop for expectant mothers looking for stylish and flattering designer maternity wear. Of course as any mom knows, it's hard to sport cute outfits with a bun in the oven, but thanks to a wide selection of stylish items priced around $7 to $12, I was able to steal a deal, and earn major bragging rights. Recently I checked out MotherhoodMaternity.com and was pleased to find that ten years later this store still offers steal-able deals. Right now you can shop through Ebates and receive 5.0% cash back plus save an additional 15% off of sale and clearance prices.
A great example is the above V-Neck Blouse by Heidi Klum. Cute, isn't it? This top is regularly priced at $25 but thanks to a markdown price of $9.99 it's eligible for 15% off, making it just $8.49. I love teaching others how to shop online and showing them how to get the most bang for their buck. I'm always sharing tips and deals on my website, eeendeavors.com and I invite you to join me in strategic, money-saving shopping... at its best!
I haven't done a recent installment of "I Want It Now" simply because, well, there's not much I've craved. No, my forehead isn't warm, and yes I am fully lucid, so the answer to your burning what gives question is this; there hasn't been anything to tempt me. Luckily for readers this is swiftly changing as Fall Fashion rears it's sartorialist head. To kick off the season I'm starting with the one thing every woman fawns over - Handbags. Enjoy and happy shopping!
Shop Olsenboye at JCPenneyWhen I was a teenager I never paid attention to what celebrities were wearing, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't alone in this disregard. Before the internet became everything, Back to School fashion was ingested through magazines and catalogs - oh how we stalked the mailman. Of course in 2010 teenagers are very different, and what celebrities wear (or design) heavily influences what's cool in school. Case in point: Olsenboye started by ex-child stars the Olsen twins.
OlsenboyeMary Kate and Ashley Olsen became fashion icons when they launched their couture line The Row, followed by the coveted mid-priced line Elizabeth and James in 2007. Featured in every fashion magazine and sold in every boutique, their clothes have a following with celebrities like Beyonce, Nicole Richie, Kim Kardashian and Heidi Klum. Hearing the cry for a younger, lower priced line the twins created Olsenboye; a joining of their eclectic tastes with youthful trends. Sold exclusively at JCPenney the line carries teen must haves like graphic tees, babydoll dresses, and accessories priced between $15- $90. Aside from scoring teen faves for less, you'll also get 6.0% Cash Back at JCPenney thanks to Ebates Back to School. Oh and the bragging rights of being a "hip" parent.
Jenna LyonsThere are few woman I envy, and fewer lives I would swap for my own. Being rich, famous, and the owner of a huge wardrobe means nothing without talent, which is why Jenna Lyons is my inspiration. As Creative Director of J.Crew (soon to be President in September) everything about her life seems charmed; from her fabulous Brooklyn Home to her job as style extraordinaire. It's because of her influence that J.Crew continues to wow me as a relevant fashion retailer. Remember when it was just preppy clothes? Take a look at their Fall Collection and yeah like I said, wow.
J.Crew Fall LookbookSpeaking of Fall, Jenna describes the collection as Edith Beale goes to Summer camp, which is quite appropriate considering the heavy use of 1940's inspired coats, knitwear, and stockings. The addition of military hats makes it all the more nostalgic and for a pop of the unexpected there's Funny Face Lip Color by Nars (available at Sephora). Overall I'm thrilled with The Fall Lookbook- view it here -and although items are pre-order only, by shopping J.Crew you'll get a guaranteed 1.0% Cash Back. Not to mention endless inspiration!
Casa de Jenna Aside from having an eye for fashion, Jenna also has an eye for design. In fact her home is much like a J.Crew outfit; a bit whimsical, a bit funky, and a mismash of opposing styles that somehow all work. I love (like seriously am obsessed with) her mustard yellow couch, and the mission style chandelier adorned with crystals. Other favorites of her home include the bold black and white bathroom, as well as her chalkboard painted bedroom. For the full spread see Livingetc, and to shop her home try Ebates stores like Burke Decor, FCLstyle, and Design Within Reach.
I could go down the much beaten path of Pre-Fall trends, cool weather items, and the must have fabrics for Fall- presumably suede, tweeds, wool, even shearling and velvet- but I choose to stay on the path ahead and revel in all that is Summer fashion. Of course seeing that Summer is half way over investing in pricey trends for a mere 6 weeks is foolish, and not very savvy of me. Instead I've picked out a few trends from my newest obsession ASOS, and although it contradicts me to say this, you will be able to bring these trends into your Fall wardrobe. Sorry!
Military-JacketSpring's grunge influence is still going strong, and this Dutch Army Shirt is just the piece you need. Priced just under $50 (with 3.5% Cash Back), it works great paired over another hot trend: the prairie dress. Take note: cut off shorts will still be around for Fall, but fashionista's will be pairing them with knit tights and these Wedge Suede Booties.
Sanita ClogMark my words clogs will still be going strong in Fall, and they are the "it" shoe for Summer. As much as I love this trend, I want to avoid looking like a milk maid which is why I love these Sanita Clogs. Definitely a tougher version, I'll be able to wear these with a Fall ensemble of dark denim and an asymmetrical cashmere sweater, or right now with luxurious pleated shorts.
Aside from current trends, ASOS also carries chic labels like Acne, Vivienne Westwood, Band of Outsiders, Paul Smith and more. Right now they're having a mega sale so it behooves you to check them out. Guys too!
Tracy-ReeseFor years I've been in love with Tracy Reese clothes. The bold prints and flattering cuts have the gusto of DVF, yet the line itself is understated. Of-the-moment silhouette's are ignored in lieu of patterns like the A-line dress, and prints are a modernized version of what's been done before whether it's a floral, animal, or other. In other words her pieces just work and they take little creativity or thought on my part which as you can imagine is a huge relief. Much as I want a certain ease in which to dress I also want a certain ease in which to decorate so I was happy to stumble across Tracy Reese Home while shopping at Macys.
Done under the Plenty by Tracy Reese name the collection features bath towels, accessories, and shower curtains all as eclectic as her clothing. These Folk Song Bath TowelsFolk Song Towels have a bohemian vibe similar to her signature chiffon tops, even the skirt pictured above (print look familiar?) and they're surprisingly affordable. Priced between $8 to $50 you'll find many items on sale thanks to Macys Home Sale and of course 3.0% Cash Back. In addition to bath items I also found bedding from Plenty by Tracy Reese, however besides a few random items on eBay, I'm having trouble finding the line sold through an Ebates store. Have any of you had luck?
Back-to-School
School bells, linoleum hallways, and locker gossip. Each September -despite graduating a decade ago- the back to school blues comes washing over and fills me with a sense of dread that can only come from homework, shorter days, and inevitably colder weather. This sense of dread is quickly replaced with the feeling of joy that can only come from being an adult. I believe the feeling is called freedom. For the unfortunate under 18 crowd there is a silver lining and it's called Back To School. Because every hallway is a fashion runway here's a rundown of what your kids will be wearing and how you can get cash back.
I am a sucker for wardrobe basics and I see no coincidence that items such as the white collared short and the classic tank top are iconic in fashion. As much as I love quirky items I am always relying on basics to get me through weekends, uninspired days, laundry days, and those times when you want to look fabulous without trying. Speaking of fabulous here are a few basics I'm coveting this Summer.
Rosette-Ribbed-Tank
Rosette Ribbed Tank from Ann Taylor Loft. $29.50 3.0% Cash Back.
2x2-Draped-Dress
2x2 Draped Dress by Alexander Wang. $140 at Shopbop with 6.0% Cash Back.
Alternative-Apparel
Kain-Label-T-Shirt
Kain Label T-Shirt from Saks Fifth Avenue. $88 with 2.5% Cash Back.
What are your favorite basics?
madewellshorts.jpgThe record breaking temperatures across much of the country make it impossible to look at the new Fall fashions arriving in stores. When it's one-hundred degrees in New York City, the last thing you could ever think of buying is a chunky cashmere sweater, ankle boots or anything with sleeves. But any fashionista knows that some of the best Fall pieces are hitting stores right now and if you pass them up, they could pass you by. Good thing there are pieces that you can buy now and wear all through the rest of Summer and into Fall. Consider these Madewell Boardwalk Shorts as a good starting point. Fabricated in a light and airy silk, they will feel great no matter how hot it gets and they will look chic and sophisticated paired with the simplest tee or bold, floral blouse for a little pop. Come Fall, you can layer these with one of the season's must-have chunky sweaters and a chic pair of wedge ankle boots. Here are some options to complete the look.
vincestripesweaterIf you are looking to snag a chic chunky sweater, I recommended buying the style you like when you see it. I already missed out on a great option that sold out in just a few days. Other contenders include this Vince Striped Cardigan from Shopbop with free shipping and 6.0% Cash Back or this amazingly affordable open cardigan by independent designer Neil Sterling in his collaboration collection at Urban Outfitters
My other pre-Fall shopping advice is to start looking for a cute pair of ankle boots that you can Belle-Wedge.jpgwear now with frilly sun-dresses, paired with those shorts or when Fall hits with just about everything. Some of my favorite options include these from Madewell and this comfortable and versatile Wedge version on pre-order at Saks Fifth Avenue
Stay tuned for more tips on Summer into Fall dressing! In the meantime, check out the best Summer and pre-Fall sales here.
The fashion world and the universe are very much alike. Both are expanding and contracting on any given day, the center of each is always up for debate, and both can be blamed for having a strong gravitational effect on me. For example, while browsing Ebates' newest chic boutique Singer22, I came across this Equipment Signature Shirt and my desire to wear this lighter than air silk top was so strong, I dare say I was unable to resist. Truly the perfect shirt, this was something meant to be the center of my universe. I say perfect only because it's cut like a man's shirt with exaggerated pockets, long length, and casual elegance, yet it's also extremely feminine being that it's made from luxurious silk. Oh and as a bonus there's 3.5% Cash Back.
Equipment-ShirtThe brand Equipment has resurfaced after taking a leave of absence from the fashion world. Started by Christian Restoin (S/O to French Vogue Editor Carine Roitfield) this shirt was the must have for fashion sirens such as Lauren Bacall and Yoko Ono in the 80's, and is now a must have for me in the 00's. I don't think that sounds right, but I haven't really decided on how I am going to address the first decade of the 21st century. It's not hard to see why they loved it then, nor why I love it now. This shirt is truly the ultimate wardrobe item as it can do anything. Dress up ripped denim, or pair with leather pants a la Italian mistress. Use it as a cardigan substitute during Summer months, or layer under a tweed blazer when the leaves start to change. Or if you want, skip the robe and wear this over your sexiest lingerie. However you choose, this shirt does it all. Here at Ebates we offer it all and by shopping Singer22 you'll get 3.5% Cash Back. With new stores being added all the time, maybe Ebates is like the universe too. It's certainly at the center of mine.
It seems that every week we are adding another batch of big names to Ebates. Last week it was Barneys New York, and this week we have added Madewell! The JCrew sibling just recently launched their e-commerce site and we added them just in time. Hundreds of fashion bloggers, seen here and here have celebrated the launch of their online store and now you can celebrate the right way: with cash back from Ebates.
MadewellSandalI couldn't wait to take advantage of Madewell online and snagged these Sunset Sandals, which miraculously solved just about every shoe need I have. The reason why these shoes checked off so many prerequisites is that they are stylish, timeless, versatile and most importantly, I can actually walk in them.  But, they are not completely flat so they can be a little more sophisticated if they need to be. If these shoes strike your fancy and also solve some of your shoe problems, I recommend ordering them soon, because they are selling out quickly. And take advantage of 1.0% Cash Back too. Also find a ton of cute sandals, great denim ( get free shipping on all denim purchases), cute sun-dresses, amazing jewelry and hundreds of other style staples. Plus, there are a few great designer collaborations coming down the line. Currently, shop a capsule collection with jewelry brand Lizzie Fortunato and this Fall expect to see the much anticipated collaboration with Alexa Chung. And yes, those are the Sunset Sandals seen on the runway!
esp-flats-shopbopThe one problem the Madewell Sunset Sandal didn't solve was my need for something in between a sneaker and a sandal for summer days where I needed the comfort of a sandal but a little more coverage. I got lucky again when I happened upon these stylish and amazingly affordable Espadrille Flats from Shopbop for just $28. These slip on canvas flats come in several different color-ways to suit a variety of tastes. Plus, they are comfortable and the perfect compliment to every casual ensemble. I've seen similar styles selling for much more and these are going fast so pick up a pair now and get free shipping and 6.0% Cash Back.
Stock up on Summer shoes and cash back!
Barneys is a store I typically stay away from unless I'm able to do some serious shopping. Sounds strange? Well if you knew my weakness for jaw dropping clothing and shoes, then it would seem quite normal. You see Barneys New York is the creme de la creme of department stores; a place where you are guaranteed to find something you can't live without. Now that they're a part of Ebates and offering 2.5% Cash Back perhaps I no longer need to abstain from what comes naturally. Shopping!
Ponytail-HolderRecently I've been in a mood for decadence, and despite having just spent a week in the mountains being anything but, I still want to live the lavish life. A common misconception is that living luxuriously can be equated to spending heavily, when in fact the real secret to living luxuriously is taking everyday items and making them fabulous. Take this Ponytail Holder for example. Simple enough, this instantly transforms on the go hair styles like the bun and ponytail into chic, dare I say french inspired updo's. Marked down to $19 it's also a steal. Aside from seasonal markdowns, Barneys New York also carries the most exquisite pre-fall collections and home goods so luxurious they're fit for a queen. Speaking of royal living here's an inside peek into the world of Barney's creative director Simon Doonan, who just so happens to be married to famous interior designer and potter Jonathan Adler. Design and fashion followers alike will relish in this couple's quirky yet luxurious taste.
As much as I love fashion a girl does need a break, but now that I'm refreshed from a short vacation I'm ready to start planning my looks for Fall. Because I am perpetually on a budget I won't be shopping till I drop, instead I'll be selecting pieces that compliment what is already hanging in my closet. So in other words, no rash decisions!
Brit-Wrap-BootsLast Fall there were several items I needed yet somehow failed to buy. One of those items was a pair of flat ankle boots. I managed to buy a pair of sky high chic boots, but alas they gather dust as I am not often seen in 4 inch heels. This Fall all that changes with a pair of Brit Wrap Boots from Shopbop. Truly a must have in a city with hills, these are just $230 which is nearly $100 less than the boots I bought last year. Besides the obvious comfort factor, these boots will look great whether worn with jeans and a slouchy sweater, or a long dress. The latter of which I've been stocking up on.
It should also be mentioned this style of motorcycle boots were all the rage last Fall, and will continue to be coveted this year plus you'll get 6.0% Cash Back at Shopbop.
Taylor-Crossbody-BagAnother item I should have purchased was a new handbag. I blogged about them often but as anyone will attest, actions speak louder than words. This year I plan to be more of an action girl and finally add a new member to my handbag family. Although I haven't settled on any one bag, this Taylor Crossbody Bag from Bluefly is a definite contender. It features a top handle with flap pocket and removable shoulder strap. I was originally looking for a brown or grey bag, but the combination of black and dark brown is so sophisticated I can't wait to wear them with my riding boots. Priced at $261 this bag is also hugely affordable, not to mention you'll get 3.5% Cash Back. Now that I've found two must have items for a total of $491, (which was the cost of one bag last year) I'm almost glad I made my "mistakes". I might just end up saving myself a boatload, plus earning some serious cash back!
Rachel RoyFor many years I've swooned over Rachel Roy designs. Her mix of street funk and high fashion has always resulted in one of a kind items that I can only wish to own. I saw wish because quite frankly, Rachel Roy's line is priced alongside other high end designers like Akris, Proenza Schouler, and Dolce and Gabbana. With this being said, you can imagine my excitement when I learned Rachel Roy was designing a lower priced line for the rest of us.
But would it work? Or would it be another tacky attempt with cheap fabrics and poor cut?
Oh it works, and it works well.
Rachel Roy Silk DressTitled Rachel Rachel Roy, you can shop the full collection through Ebates with 2.5% Cash Back. Now it should be mentioned, that Rachel Rachel Roy is geared toward a more youthful audience. The color palette is bolder, prints more exaggerated, and the jewelry is funky to say the least. But this doesn't mean it belongs in the mall. On the contrary, Rachel Rachel Roy is sophisticated but fun with suede blazers (that's real suede not imitation) done in water hues, silk jackets that resemble the lady like elegance of the 50's, and this Lattice Dress which combines soft silk with an intricate neckline. The collection ranges from $40 to $249 and involves everything from sweaters to boots, and t-shirts to cocktail rings. The mix is eclectic and fun, and the best part is i can stop wishing and start shopping!
For those who wish to shop Rachel Roy, you'll find items up to 70% off with free sitewide shipping on orders over $75.
I know Summer is a time for linen, tropical colors, and less decadence, but right now I'm in the mood for high gloss and maximum glitz. Rich jewel tones with a tribal influence and home decor that oozes luxury are just a few items on my wish list.
logo-barneysThey say good things come to those who wait. I was never really a believer in this saying; probably because patience is definitely not one of my dominating personality traits. My lack of patience is especially apparent when it comes to waiting for stores to join Ebates. I simply refuse to shop without cash back, and quite frankly, its not too hard to find whatever I am shopping for from the over one-thousand Ebates stores, so I do not need to. But there are some stores that come to mind that I have long wished would get it together and share the love on Ebates. One of them has always been Barney's New York.
The wait is over.
Because they have recently ramped up their online inventory, I am even more excited that I can now shop one of the best luxury retailers and earn 2.5% Cash Back with free shipping on all orders! To add to the excitement, that they joined our cash back family at the same time as their big Summer Sale, which means there are even more savings to be had. Plus, even more fabulous luxury, hot designer names and of course, the hand-picked selection you have come to expect from the fashion-forward store.
15.0%-Cash-Back-at-Tobi!I believe everything happens for a reason. Whether it be called fate, destiny, or the aligning of the stars, nothing is random. At least not in my world. Take Tobi for instance; patiently I have been waiting for the right chance to buy these jeans, but something has kept me from doing so. Then I discover Tobi will be raising their cash back from 2.5% to a jaw dropping 15.0% Cash Back. That means not only can I score these jeans on sale, but I'll also get a cool $17.85 in my Ebates account. Now that my friends is fate.
It goes without saying they're are other things I'm coveting besides jeans. I mean, with the selection of great labels and my ever changing moods, it's good to have variety in one's closet. It's also good to have a full arsenal of accessories for the days when my grandfather's hanes undershirt is my look du jour. When dressing down I like upping the anty with a fab bag like this one from Rebecca Minkoff. With just the right amount of gold tone hardware, this bag is the perfect day bag, fully equipped with plenty of storage. As for the price? It's also a perfect - just $396 or $59 in my Ebates account. Yes you read that right, $59. If that hasn't convinced you to start shopping Tobi, I'll remind you that there's also free shipping on all orders.
Great cash back, free shipping, and great selection? Seems like something is aligning!
widebrimmedBRhatLast weekend, we had our first official sunny and warm day. Most San Franciscans are ill-prepared for such an event and basically everyone in the office came in with "man it was hot" or " I got fried in the sun". Even though I keep a plethora of sun protection on me ( as you can see here on Ebates TV), a full-on sunny day will make a dent on any pale skin no matter how much sunblock you put on. I did not get burnt but I got a little more color than I intended and vowed to find a good hat to keep the sun off my face during my outdoor activities this Summer. Of course, I would not want to sacrifice style to make this commitment and luckily I don't have to. I checked in with all the usual jaunts and found some hats that fit in with my specifications ( under $50, wide-brim to actually block the sun, preferably not a cowboy or full-on straw...) but nothing that wow-ed me. I found this Oaxaca Sun Hat from Banana Republic for $49.50 ( just a wee bit under my $50 cut-off, although, I can get 25% off a full-priced orders of $100 or more (plus free shipping) with coupon code: NEWINJUNE). And it is perfect. Fabricated in paper with a stylish and intricate  design and a wide brim, it will keep the sun off my face while also making a subtle fashion statement. Plus, I will earn 2.0% Cash Back on my purchase and have the peace of mind that the sun will be completely off my face even on moderately sunny days.
PanamaHat.jpg
If that is a little too wide brimmed or casual for your taste but you are looking for a stylish Summer hat to compliment your look, check out this classic Panama Hat from JCrew. It is the perfect accessory for everything from jeans and a tee to an outdoor wedding under the sun.
If you already have the books but want a refresh yourself on the movies, look no further than Overstock.com where you can get movies, books and memorabilia all at low prices and cash back. coveting_pink_cardiganThe bane of my existence living in San Francisco is not having a real Summer. Natives will roll their eyes and expect me to be over it by now, but come mid-July, I am ready to move because I am in desperate need for a sunny and hot streak that lasts longer than a day. Because Memorial Day has passed and Summer is essentially here, I have been thinking of ways to enjoy a traditional Summer wardrobe that does not involve leather jackets, pants and winter boots. Instead, I will employ the San Francisco fail-safe: layering. I was inspired by this look featured on the Lucky Magazine Blog  courtesy of style hunter Vanessa Jackman. I am not normally one who gravitates towards anything pink, but this look has me flocking towards this pink cardigan from JCrew. pinkcardi Made of super-soft cotton and accentuated by silk-chiffon trim and a stylish drawstring, it is the perfect topper for Summer dresses, tanks and skirts. Plus, it is thin enough to allow an additional layer if I need to add some extra warmth depending on just how cold it gets! At the same time, its light enough for those of you who actually get Summer temperatures. Pair it over your favorite frock for a chilly night.
Get it at JCrew for $98 with 1.0% Cash Back from Ebates!
Warm weather is arriving in most of the country (including San Francisco) and with added sunshine comes added ways to save. Might sound cheesy, but savvy shoppers know that Summer sales all start with Memorial Day. Think of it as the kickoff to a great season of flip flops, bikini's, and sundresses galore. Speaking of Summer fashion, Nordstrom is having their half yearly sale and as part of our Memorial Day Double Cash Back Event, their offering 5.0% Cash Back.
Cotton HoboNow that you know about the savings, it's time to get shopping! Not that I needed an excuse. :)
In terms of Summer fashion, I've already made a huge dent in dresses, tank tops, summer sweaters (this is San Francisco after all), and shoes, but what I'm really lacking is the perfect Summer bag. Considering handbag options during the hot months are so bold and bright they would suit a parrot more than a fashion conscious woman, you can understand my delight when I came across this Canvas Hobo. With so many wonderful features it's hard to know where to begin. For starters it's made from burlap canvas so it's environmentally friendly, and secondly it has just the right amount of color found in it's braided rope handle to give it  punch. Obviously I should point out this bag is just $44, and isn't so over the top that you can't wear it for years to come. Something not true of the neon yellow, bright orange, and bedazzled options out there. Perfect on the beach, the streets, and backyard bar-b-que's, this bag has left me with money to spend, and money to earn!
Ronny-KoboAh Shopbop, the drug of choice for fellow fashion blogger Poppy and I. It needs no mentioning that we both stalk this site daily; prowling for new additions, new inspirations, and new markdowns. The latter of which is what really gets me into a shopping frenzy. Such was the case Tuesday when my inbox glowed with the happiness that is new markdowns. After reading only the title of my email I quickly signed into Ebates, and hopped over to Shopbop wondering what goodies awaited me. Well it took about 2.5 seconds to discover the dress I had been coveting for months was now marked down 70%. In both colors!
Pleased with the instant score, I was quick to whip out my credit card, because after last week's Yoox disaster, I no longer wait to buy something I love. Slightly eccentric from other items I buy, this dress by Torn By Ronny Kobo grabbed my attention weeks ago but the nude color (shown) was only 50% off. Considering the rhinestone applique, the black option (although 70% off) was too goth for my liking. But now both colors are marked down and I can't wait to wear this on the first warm day of Summer. If that day takes awhile, then I can pair this with my studded cashmere cardigan and tan leather boots for a boho vibe. Either way I saved a whopping $385, and earned 6.0% Cash Back. That's almost ten bucks!
RagandbonetankEven though I do a lot of shopping online (most of which I document on this blog) the thing that really seals the deal for me to buy is when a store offers free shipping with no limit. A perfect example of this happened today. I received an email from Saks Fifth Avenue advertising their sale, where tons of items have been marked down and many items were up to 60% off. Of course, this got me shopping. I saw a few things I liked, added a few to my shopping cart ( a trick I learned after watching things sell out before my eyes) and imagined outfits with potential items on sale. When I noticed that in addition to up to 60% off select styles, Saks was offering free shipping on any order ( ends tomorrow, 5/28) I really got serious about buying. Savings really add up and sales really get exciting when you stack cash back and free shipping to a reduced price. I saw this Rag and Bone Drawstring Funnel Tank, on sale for $101.99 ( reduced from $255, I will save 60%), I knew I had to have it. Not only do I love Rag and Bone, but the top is different than anything I have, great for Summer and made from luxurious silk and cotton.  Plus, I will save an additional $13 for what I would have paid for shipping and get 2.5% Cash Back on the purchase.
Shop new markdowns at Saks Fifth Avenue and get free shipping on any order with code: SHOPSFA.
hanesMy friend Stephanie will kill me for writing this post. She had discovered these seamless underwear and has been stockpiling and keeping the find a secret for quite sometime. Because I recently picked up this dress ( which requires the most seamless, discreet underpinnings) I asked her what she wears. Reluctantly, she gave up her secret: these Hanes Comfort Soft Boy Shorts, completely seamless, completely comfortable and only $6 for a pack of three. Of course, I had to try them out for myself and I found them at Walmart, where they had a variety of styles, all for just $6 and with 2.0% Cash Back and $.99 shipping on every order.
But in my search I realized that this style was selling out and not available at many stores and almost gone from OneHanesPlace, the home of Hanes panties! After a call to inquire, we found out that this style is endangered and will soon, like so many great things, be discontinued. Fortunately, I have my chance to stockpile, and get cash back and find a solution for all those items I own that need special undergarments.
Pick up a pack for just $6 at Walmart or at OneHanesPlace before they are gone!
Yoox is one of those websites I stay obsessed with until for whatever reason it leaves my mind as quickly as it entered. Such was the case last week when out of the blue I thought "hey I bet Yoox has great sales right now", and I quickly started scouring the enormous sale section in search of new additions to my wardrobe. Sadly this tale isn't as happy as I had hoped because the one item I was crushing on sold the day after I spotted it. Although I knew the sales at Yoox were sure to draw other savvy shoppers hunting for a deal, I had no idea just how quickly things would sell. Note to you: If you spot something, buy it! Never again will I mistrust my fashion instincts and allow myself to "sleep on it".
Silk-Dress-From-YooxYes, I am still crushed by the lose of one fabulous See By Chloe dress that I was hoping to wear with these shoes, but the show must go on and my heart is never damaged for long. What with 3.5% Cash Back how can it be? So it is with a renewed interest in shopping that I begun yet another search for life's necessities. Of course I'm talking about clothes!
With literally thousands of pages filled with items, shopping Yoox can get a tad overwhelming. So my advice is to add anything of interest to your shopping bag and sort through later. My own personal search has been focused around dresses and this Silk Dress by Jucca is a beautiful option. The floral print is more earthy than dainty, and can easily be worn in cool weather (just throw on a cardigan and boots) or by itself. I dig the hippie vibe of this dress and it may be just the thing I need for summer events. Of course considering how foggy the weather gets in San Francisco, those events may be few and far between.
I spent a little time looking around our coupons page this afternoon, and amidst our regular deals for free shipping and our coupons about saving money on specific items, I found a real corker of a deal: right now Hot Topic is doing their "Huge Clearance Blowout" which means you can get an extra 50% off of items already marked as clearance. But act quickly - the blowout ends today, so I can't speculate on what the prices will go back up to starting tomorrow morning. But if you're willing to pull the trigger, you can really score on some killer savings.
Hot TopicNow don't worry - I checked it out, and there are still some good deals, so it's not like just keychains and shoelaces are discounted. Rather, there is a pretty wide selection of tees, accessories, even gifts (a number of which happen to be Twilight-related, for you Twihards out there). But as I was saying before, there are some crazy deals to be had - earrings and rings starting at just $1.99, belts as low as $6.00, you can even get a can of mustache wax for just forty nine cents, which is 90% off the original price. Apparently the Rollie Fingers look isn't quite back in vogue as much as some people thought.
Once you have found some great clearance items (or even some regular items, let's not discriminate) since the clearance discounts are built in, you should be able to use coupon code HTAFREESHIP for free shipping on all orders $50 and up. So this way not only do you save 50% on a whole mess of cool stuff, you can also get it all shipped to you completely free of charge. It's a total win-win situation. Naturally, when you factor in the 4.0% Cash Back you'll earn when you use your Ebates account, you are saving even more on every order!
Women tend to group articles of clothing into activities, among them being the "night out" heels, "dinner with friends" blouse, and the "Sunday errands" jeans. This method of placing restraints on clothing can lead to a closet full of unwearable garments, especially if your buying clothing for activities that never occur. Case in point my night out heels have been worn all but once. Why? Well let's just say my idea of a night out usually constitutes moccasins rather than 4 inch stilettos. In any case, my desire to look cute and stylish (without looking like I tried too hard) has lead me to an unusual group of clothing. Otherwise known as knits and tees.
After wondering why I am constantly wearing the same two shirts every weekend, I started examining my hobbies. I like to grab a beer with friends, I like to visit my mom and snuggle with her pugs (dog hair and smell included), and I really like, make that love to spend hours rummaging at flea markets. Fancy brunches, spa days, and other dainty activities are rare yet I own an entire wardrobe dedicated to such pastimes. Considering 90% of what I do calls for casual attire, it made sense to invest in some serious comfy pieces like knits and tees. But where to begin?
Merino Boyfriend SweaterThis Merino Boyfriend Sweatshirt has a loose and comfy fit, and is perfect for lounging at home. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't lounge too hard or attempt to clean my bathroom, but for general tv watching, book reading, or internet surfing activities, this does the trick. When my presence is required outside the luxuries of home, I'm already dressed. For a day spent thrifting I can pair this with sandals, but for a rendezvous with friends, I can up the ante with a long strand necklace and wedge espadrilles. For just $69, this knit does it all. Find it at J.Crew with 1.0% Cash Back and start dressing for your life!
Fading color, new holes, and stretched out waist bands are part of the life cycle of denim- regardless of cut, brand, or cost. Some have a shorter lifespan hence my devotion to designer labels but in the end, all will cease to serve their original purpose: to make my bottom half look fantastic. At this very moment I own three pairs of jeans who are in need of being retired to the "weekend only" section of my closet. A section with enough stretched out elastic, bad color choices, and sequins to resemble the retirement community of Miami. Because denim is as necessary to me as 4pm dinners are to retirees, I've begun my search for the perfect jean. However this time around I'm opting for something a little different.
Tulip-Bell-BottomsTen years ago bell bottom jeans were the de rigeur of my high school. Everyone owned multiple pairs, and the larger the opening (aka the bell) the cooler they were thought to be. Fast forward several years and skinny jeans are all the rage, but after nearly 5 years I'm over it. Not to mention trusted beauty addict Poppy has told me they can cause ingrown hairs. Not pretty when it's Summer and you want to show off your legs!
Wanting to change my standard denim uniform I began shopping for the anti-skinny jean and found these Tulip Bottom Jeans from Tobi. Not only do they feature the hip hugging and slim thigh that I loved, but they come with a subtle bell bottom. Nothing crazy like high school, but funky enough to wear over cowboy boots or with a peasant top. On sale for $149 these jeans aren't exactly cheap, but they are less expensive than other options and I'll get free shipping at Tobi. I'll also get 2.5% Cash Back added to my Ebates account. Something which I wish I had access to all those years ago!
Vince JeanLike most of the fashion obsessed people, I keep a running tab of the things I want. Some of them are very practical like new sheets or a set of running socks other things are almost preposterous, like an extravagant designer bag or an overpriced piece of jewelry. Regardless of whether or not I will actually ever buy the things on this list, I have no way of really organizing my "To Buys" and I just mull it over from time to time when the urge to shop comes over me. With the last days of our unprecedented Birthday sale approaching, where sixty stores have increased to 11.0% Cash Back, I have consulted the list to make sure there is nothing I am missing earning double digit cash back on. There is one item on the list that I have recently reconsidered, in light of 11.0% Cash Back at Piperlime. These Vince Slouchy Jeans have remained stagnant on the To Buy List for quite sometime because the price tag was just too much for me to justify. They sell for $240. Yes, you read that correctly, two hundred and forty dollars. I originally just thought they would remain a figment of my wardrobe fantasy until I realized what Ebates' Birthday Cash Back would do to the final price. I would save about $26 and the jeans would become slightly more justifiable but still very extravagant. Adding to my state of madness is the fact that I too just celebrated a birthday and feel entitled to a little splurge. With one more day left to decide, I took the plunge. Now my wallet is aching but next quarter's Big Fat Check will be nice and robust.
If I become more rational, I can always shop for a great selection of jeans at Gap where I will still be able to take advantage of 11.0% Cash Back but save myself about $100.
Is there anything you need to buy while you can still earn double-digit cash back?
Lately, all I want to do is shop.
"What else is new?" you may think, because after all, I make a living shopping for the best deals around. But believe it or not the two are different. Shopping for trends, deals, and must have coupons isn't so much about my tastes as it is finding you, our loyal members, the best of what's out there. Sometimes this constant prowl can affect (more like infect) my thoughts with images of swing skirts, silky blouses, and supple leather bags. And sometimes it doesn't. With my birthday in just 2 days, I've been feeling the twinge to stop saying no to everything that catches my eye, and to instead become a yes woman. Yes I want shoes! Yes I want new tops! Yes I want to spoil myself rotten, and say to hell with saving every penny!
Sometimes shopping really is therapy.
Sardinia-EspadrilleWhatever the reason for this burst of shopping madness, there are limitations to how deeply I can indulge myself. Some might consider this a buzz kill, but I think of it as a challenge. One which I've won thanks to J.Crew. Of all the things I could buy, these Sardinia Espadrilles are on the top of my list. Not only are they uber pretty, but they're also comfortable and extremely versatile. For just $118 I consider these a great way to splurge on Summer's must have shoe while keeping reality in check.
Cleo-PlatformSlightly further down my list are these Cleo Platform Sandals. Like the espadrille these too can be seen everywhere in fashion, and thanks to tanned leather straps and a suede platform, they're also versatile. A bit funkier than the espadrilles, these sandals are made to be worn with Spring trends like the military jacket, and the sailor shirt. Two items which Poppy and I can't stop talking about. Both pairs of shoes are available at J.Crew and both come with 1.0% Cash Back. Now my shopping madness has been turned into shopping success!
clogSurely, I have mentioned before that my commute to the Ebates HQ requires a significant amount of walking. If I was smart, I would pack proper footwear to make the trek and then switch into something more fashionable when I arrived at the office. Unfortunately, in terms of footwear choices, I am not smart. Today, I am wearing shoes that are too small. And my feet hurt. It is time that I think about proper shoes for walking. Luckily, Ebates is busting at the seams with eligible footwear stores, so I can surely find some shoes that are good for my feet and look cute too. That's when I came across these authentic Sweedish Hasbeens Clogs from Endless for $204 with 6.0% Cash Back and free shipping. Thanks to Chanel, the clog trend has been gaining in popularity and I think this time next year, you will see clogs all over the place. Even skeptics will jump on this trend because clogs are just so comfortable and no one does a better clog than Hasbeens ( the same brand who makes the cute clogs SJP is wearing in these stills from the upcoming Sex And The City movie). If you are wondering how to wear them, I recommend keeping the clogs casual and throwing them on with jeans and tees or khaki pants, rolled at the cuffs, like these from Vince. These pants are an ideal counterpart for the clogs because they are classic with a twist. The perfect combination that will make the outfit a little more edgy and interesting.
Over the weekend, the weather here in San Francisco started warming up a bit. Similarly, the discussion heated up amongst my friends about the warrants of men and shorts. See, especially in the Bay Area, where the weather never really gets all that hot, shorts are never a "necessity" for men, and for that very reason, most of us in this part of the country can get away with never wearing shorts if you don't really want to. Still, despite having lived here my entire life, I realize that there are many areas across our fair land where wearing short pants is pretty much unavoidable.
So in the spirit of warming weather, I'm going to try to help you out with a few "do"s and a couple of very avoidable "don't"s.
"Do"s
Gap cadet shortsTry to find shorts that really fit more like short pants. This means that the fit in the waist and thigh should be pretty similar to whatever you're used to in your favorite pair of pants, and they should ideally hit right around your knee or maybe somewhat higher. There should be enough room to move freely, but no so much room that you can fit both of your legs into one leg of the shorts. Take for instance these Cadet Shorts from Gap; they fall right at the knee, have a nice classic style, and good clean lines. At $39.50 they won't break the bank, and during our birthday week they'll net you 11.0% Cash Back. They're even available up to a size 46, so even someone of my more "ample build" can find a pair that will look cool this summer.
Versatrek cargo shortsCargo shorts are okay, if they're kept in check. Generally speaking, it is my knee-jerk reaction to dismiss cargo shorts and pants, but I think this is a byproduct of a number of people who just don't really understand the proper way to wear them. The problem is that almost no man in his everyday life needs six pockets to carry everything; really we shouldn't need four, but that's another blog. Still, if you want to wear cargo shorts, keep the cargo pockets empty, and avoid shorts that tie at the bottom - you will probably never tie your shorts shut, so it's just needless adornment. Get a nice pair like the Versatek Ripstop Cargo Shorts from Eddie Bauer and you'll be looking good with 3.0% Cash Back.
"Don't"s
don'tJorts. Yup, sorry guys, jeans shorts are pretty much not ever okay. Least of all when they're gigantic. Stick with cotton, khaki, or something simple like Dickies.
Cutoffs. I know distressed denim is still popular, and that there are some folks who will argue until they're blue in the face that cutoffs are back in as long as they're long enough and they fit properly, but the people who can actually pull off that look are very few and far between. Unless you are absolutely fearless in your confidence that you can pull off this look don't try. When it goes wrong, it goes really wrong.
Shorts with length issues. As I said earlier, shorts should be in the general region of your knee. If you have more than about two inches too much or too little in either direction, you kind of look terrible. Nobody wants to see a guy in hot pants. Similarly, you look like a ten year old wearing your dad's shorts if you have a pair that stop two inches above your socks. If you're that concerned about showing off your legs, just wear long pants.
Man-pris. I hope I don't need to explain this one.
Spring TrendsVintage lingerie is something I have been obsessed with for years. My collection of boned corsets done in soft cotton eyelet, silk jumpers, and knee length slips speak of my love for the 30's and 40's. A time when great attention was paid to small details like clasps, trims, bindings, and overall construction. These days it's hard to find quality as superior for inexpensive cost, yet this Spring brings some hope. With lingerie inspired fashion seen in designer collections like Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Dior, and Fendi, it's sparking a wave of ready-to-wear inspired by underwear.
Rebecca-TaylorAs much as I love the idea of stockings being exposed with silk teddies and a cardigan, the truth is it's not very appropriate for my daily life. Surely sitting on a cramped bus followed by an office is not the time or place for such revealing clothing. But still, there are options like this Rebecca Taylor Bustier that allow me to indulge in my passion while keeping a bit of modesty. For those unfamiliar with vintage lingerie, channeling this trend takes little more than silk and lace. The aforementioned top features lace detailing and underwire boning similar to that of a corset or demi bra. If this trend seems unachievable or if you're a bit timid, check out Shopbop's trend section under "Delicate Matters". Here you'll find several looks ranging from racy to reasonable. All with 6.0% Cash Back so you can shop till you heart's content regardless of what trend you decide upon.
Summer-Accessories
As Spring wears on and Summer shows us it's not too far away, I can't help but think about my accessory decisions for the warm months ahead. Of course there's always silky scarfs, panama hats, and lighter bags to consider, but rather than stockpile the mediocre, this year I'm in need of something fabulous. Well not so much need as want, but you get the idea!
Cat Eye SunglassesAs seen in fab blogs like The Glamourai and Refinery29 (who I borrowed the above image from) cat eye glasses are all the rage. After years of trendy girls such as Nicole Richie wearing sunglasses the size of her face, I'm happy to see the change. These D&G Oval Sunglasses are perfect because they have a cat eye look without seeming too retro or over the top. Selling at Saks Fifth Avenue I received free rush shipping on orders over $150 with code RUSHMOM10. I can also receive 2.5% Cash Back from Ebates, which after almost two years of being an Ebates member I know first hand how much it pays to be fashionable. It also pays to protect your eyes, so if you're not thrilled with channeling cat woman, check out the Saks Fifth Avenue Sunglasses Section for sunglasses of all shapes and sizes.
Shop PR at Bluefly!
Today is Thursday which can only mean one thing: it's time for a Project Runway recap! By now all you PR fans know that Seth Aaron was the lucky winner. Rightfully so, since his collection was contemporary, yet still retained that high fashion design. Of course being that it's nearly May, shopping clothes with the same aesthetic as his collection is a little tricky, but Bluefly makes it easy with a complete section dedicated to pieces that coincide with his runway looks. So now you can shop the runway and get 3.5% Cash Back. Not bad!
Raleigh SandalBecause Seth Aaron has won several challenges- thus has been mentioned in this blog on numerous occasions- showing another striped shirt or zipper eccentric jacket seems a bit been there done that. Instead I found another way to channel his punk style. Shoes! His love of exposed zippers goes along with Spring sandals like these Raleigh Sandals by Dolce Vita. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue these shoes feature buckles, straps, and a back zipper, all with a punk inspired (but still posh) look. I prefer these in brown, but if Seth Aaron's model were to wear them I'm sure he would choose black. I'm envisioning myself wearing these with my black skinnies and a sailor tee, or with my vintage Levi's and this plaid top. Which I just bought yesterday! But regardless of what outfits I come up with I'll get 2.5% Cash Back and a stylish upgrade to my shoe collection.
Tebow JerseyIt's now exactly one week after the opening round of the NFL draft, and despite the fact that training camp is still about two months away, from a sales standpoint, there is one clear winner this season: the Denver Broncos and their rookie quarterback, Tim Tebow.
Without having thrown a pass, or even wearing the jersey in practice, Tebow's jersey has set a record for the hottest selling rookie jersey in history, topping Mark Sanchez's sales from last year when he was the fifth overall pick. The New York Daily News reports that the jersey has been "flying off the shelves" over the past week, and as the article sites, NFL Shop is the spot to pick up this gem. Luckily for you, NFL Shop is an Ebates merchant, and they currently offer 6.0% Cash Back on all purchases. That means not only can you get your hands on one of these fine Tebow jerseys, you can get about $5 in cash back, which is nothing to scoff at. Not to mention NFL Shop is sweetening the deal with a coupon for free shipping on orders over $75.
Naturally, you can get get a jersey of pretty much any of the new rookie class to come out of the first round, so if you're not a fan of the Broncos or Tebow, and you'd rather have a jersey from your hometown pick, you can still get a great deal with 6.0% Cash Back!
In the world of fashion there is one major event which insights excitement and joy into the hearts of so many shoppers. Of course I'm talking about the Friends and Family Sale. This time it's Macys who is having the sale of a lifetime, and if I may say so, is killing the competition with 25% off plus free shipping on $99+ orders. From now until May 3rd you'll save on Spring must haves like espadrilles, dresses, lively home decor, and don't forget gifts for mom! Just use code MACYSAFF to enjoy substantial savings. Before you head off to shop, I should also mention that because Macys is part of our Mother's Day promotion you'll get double cash back of 6.0%. Three ways to save is what I call a fashion triple threat!
Shop Savvy at Macys!A few months ago I blogged about a favorite shirt of mine that I've been coveting for months, yet haven't purchased simply because I can't justify spending $100 on a button down shirt. Well wouldn't you know it, Macys has the same shirt but on sale for $68. Subtract 25% and I can now buy this shirt for half off the original price! Because I wanted to get free shipping, I decided to pack a few other items onto my list such as a spiked cuff for $22, and these Studio M Leggings for $19.98. Also similar to a pair I was coveting, again, which I have not purchased due to overpricing. The moral of this story (besides encouraging you to earn double cash back and save 25%) is to shop savvy. See an item you can't live without but don't want to spend a fortune? Shop Macys and you too may get lucky!
Flip through the pages of any fashion magazine and you will see editorials on the "Denim Trend" this Spring. For someone who wears denim about 75% of the time, it's funny because saying denim is a trend is like saying pants are in fashion. Actually, the more I think about it, most fashion magazines would claim this when pants have their moment in the spotlight. But I digress, this season denim is more prominent than ever. Whether it be a chambray shirt or some super-distressed rocker chic pants, denim is big this year and that means it is time for me to break it down for you, dear Ebateable reader. One way to do the trend is with a chambray shirt. I wrote about a good one here at JCrew.com. Wear a chambray shirt with a feminine floral skirt, black skinny pants or really go for the classic look with a white pair of pants. Another big trend are " Jeggings" ( jeans + leggings = jeggings). While I loathe that name, I think it is a good way to contrast more voluminous tops or to highlight a cute pair of warm-weather sandals without the awkwardness and sheerness of a traditional legging or the bulky weight of jeans.jeansMy pick are these from JBrand available at Tobi with 2.5% Cash Back and free shipping. The great thing about these is they have a higher rise and are the perfect weight for Spring's warmer temperatures. I have worn mine practically everyday since they arrived. They are so comfortable, fit like a glove and are appropriate for the office, cocktail hour or even running around on the weekends.
Stay tuned for more Spring trends and in the meantime, load up on cash back in our clothing category
My love of tee shirts is really nothing new. I say I need blouses, I buy blouses and I swear off the "expensive tees". But, again and again, I go back to the tee. Primarily, it is because tees are what I feel comfortable in and I love the look of a perfectly worn-in tee shirt with pretty much anything. Blame it on my California roots or my unwavering need to be comfortable, whatever it is, I need to look relaxed to feel relaxed. So when it comes to dresses, I either have silky minis splenidimaxior nothing at all. Luckily, a huge trend for Spring is jersey dresses. From racerback maxi dresses to one-shouldered mini's, most every style of dress is avaliable in soft and chic jersey this season.  Piperlime has a huge selection of jersey dresses to stock up on for Spring and  for the Summer. One of my favorites is this Splendid Maxi Dress for $98 with 2.0% Cash Back and free shipping. This dress works as a perfect bathing suit cover up, is great for travel and is ideal for unpredictable weather because you can layer it so many ways.
Another option is this affordable and chic Drapey Wrap Dress for just $75. Worn with flip-flops or even heeled sandals, this dress has endless possibilities when you change up accessories. Plus, its very forgiving, soft and comfortable.
Hard to believe Mother's Day is almost here when it feels like Christmas wasn't that long ago. I'm not stressed though because for starters I've got plenty of time, and second, Ebates Mother's Day Promotion is going on. So that means from now until May 9th I'll get up to double cash back at 12 amazing stores - like Nordstrom. Perfect considering despite having plenty of time to shop, I'll wait until the very last second.
Bernardo SandalMother's Day shopping in my family has always been on the non traditional side of things. Sure there are flowers (which I'll be sure to order from ProFlowers so I can get 12.0% Cash Back) but instead of chocolates, pendant necklaces and the like, I've always given my mother things she can use, or actually wants.
In typical mom fashion, my mother can be known to harp on me for my spending habits, yet turn around and say "ooh, where did you get those shoes? Can I borrow them?" Of course I oblige, because well, she's my mom, but to be honest I don't enjoy being without items I bought for a reason. Take these Bernardo Sandals for example. A year ago I purchased these and as soon as my mother saw them she was asking to borrow them. Well she's still in love with them, but this year when she's about to ask, I'll promptly say no, and hand her a shoe box instead. I envision the rejection on her face being turned into curiosity followed by joy. Being able to surprise her with something she has truly wanted is a great feeling. Getting 5.0% Cash Back feels pretty good too.
Season-Finale-Part-1
Tim Gunn on a trampoline, Emilio fights back, and Jay and Mila square off. The remaining 4 contestants are given four months and $9000 to create their line which will debut at Bryant Park during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. After a gorgeous presentation from both Mila and Jay, Mila ended up winning the third spot. Although both designers had their own aesthetic, their overall style does share some common links. Both lines have an edgy feel with dark colors, contrasting fabrics, and asymmetrical tailoring. Principles which are seen in many fashion designers today.
Because the designers were creating a Fall collection, shopping these looks in Spring may take a little bit of hunting. Not to worry PR fans, plenty of designers like Akris, Helmut Lang, and Rag and Bone offer sharp pieces just like the ones pictured above. I've also included both warm and cold weather options.
Mackage CoatCold Weather
Not surprising, shopping for cold weather coats is a tricky endeavor when it's nearly May. Unlike most stores Bluefly carries an extensive collection of everything, including outerwear. This Wool Jacket from Mackage has the same starched military collar as Jay's runway look and has a pleated swing back that is reminiscent of Mila's looks. Selling for 40% off the retail price, you'll get 3.5% Cash Back and have access to the same accessories displayed on the ever so famous Bluefly Accessory Wall.
DVF Studded TankWarm Weather
Sleek, black clothing isn't impervious to Summer's charm. Tank tops, ripped denim, sky high gladiators, and distressed sweaters are just few examples of how this trend can shine through regardless of season. This Studded Tank from Diane Von Furstenberg combines an asymmetrical print with silver and black studs. To me this look is more Mila then Jay, but I think it's safe to say both designers would agree this tank is incredibly sexy and so appropriate for a warm night on the town. Right now it's on sale, plus you'll save an additional 20% off at Saks Fifth Avenue with code FRIENDS3. Add in 2.5% Cash Back for being an Ebates member, and say farewell to Season 7 of Project Runway, but hello to savings.
Levi'sIt was with little fanfare that we added Levi's to the fold of Ebates merchants. I personally can't understand why, because come on, it's Levi's -- the first name in American denim. Not only are they recently added, but they are offering a solid 4.0% Cash Back on everything from their denim to corduroys, slim fit to big and tall. Let me also say for the record, being of the big & tall persuasion, shopping websites like Levi's is the best way to make sure you can find the fit, wash, and style you want in your size.
For the ladies, there is an excellent interface where you can browse by waist, wash, or by what kind of leg you want from your jeans, in addition to shirts, shorts, jackets, vests, and a whole host of various denim options in both plus and petite sizes.
The entire Levi's site is a wealth of information regarding denim: you can find fit charts, trend outlines, and the Levi's "Explore" blog. Their blog is an amazing collection of information: you can find Levi's in fashion editors' picks and look books, Spring fashion trends, and even behind-the-scenes video of new seasonal lines. If that doesn't inspire you to do a little denim searching of your own, I don't know what will!
Just remember, that once you get your denim inspiration, find that perfect style and wash that you're looking for, and get ready to make a purchase, don't forget to click through
