One
of our favorite things about summer is spending time outside, soaking up the
sun...but not too much of it. Love the
sun, but protect yourself from its negative effects. Using a facial
moisturizer with sunscreens is your first line of defense against skin damaging
UV rays. Environmental factors, such as pollution and cigarette smoke can also be
harmful to your skin. Idebenone, the powerful antioxidant found in PREVAGE®
Day Ultra Protection Anti-aging Moisturizer SPF 30, helps to guard your
skin against all of these skin stressors while also supporting its natural
repair process to address any existing
damage.
Playing up your pout is a great way to feel dressed up
on days when it's too hot to wear much makeup. To get lovely lips
that last, apply a lip primer with SPF protection like our Eight Hour Cream
Lip Protectant Stick SPF 15. Then layer on a lipstick in one of this season's on-trend bright
shades, like coral or pink.
You can accentuate your glow by adding a touch of blush to the apples of your cheeks. A peachy shade, like our Pure Finish Mineral Powder Cheekcolor in Sunkissed Coral, will give you a soft, natural flush.

Today only, you'll get Double Cash Back when you shop at ElizabethArden.com through Ebates, so "get glowing!" To enter to win the Elizabeth Arden Summer Glow Giveaway, submit your answer to "How do you stay Summer beautiful?" in the comments of this post or on the Ebates Facebook wall before Friday July 29 at 11:59 PM PST. Check back here on Monday when we'll post the "glowing" winner!

Since it's health and beauty week here at Ebates, I thought now would be a great time to share my favorite summer lip color! In seasons past, I was pretty conservative when it came to my make up. You wouldn't have caught me wearing any super bright hues. That changed forever when I discovered Bobbi Brown's Cosmic Raspberry. Cosmic Raspberry is a pink so bright you gotta wear shades! I rocked that color proudly all Spring long, that is until Bobbi Brown's Guava Lip Color came into my life.

Set the baseline - After washing use an oil-free mattifying moisturizer like Clean and Clean Pore Perfector from drugstore.com to keep your skin from getting too shiny as things heat up. Let this soak in a few minutes before applying a makeup primer. I'm a fan of Smashbox Photo Finish available at Beauty.com. The primer will help keep your makeup in place and as well as smooth out imperfections, fine lines and minimize pores.

As a fan of period films like Pride & Prejudice and Gone With The Wind, I am no stranger to smelling salts. Their use by fragile women in overly dramatic situations does put a smile on my face but it also brings up a valid question; what ever happened to perfume? And I don't mean the nauseating trail left by overzealous women, but rather the quick spritz to freshen up one's day, or in more serious matters to guard against intolerable nasal cruelties like the crowded bus, and the close proximity to whomever dealt it. It's with this new found interest in pleasing my third sense that I head over to ULTA Beauty for a bit of shopping, virtual spritzing, and earning of cash.

With 450 stores in the US and locations in 13 countries it's no wonder Sephora is a household name for beauty products. Here are just a few reasons why I can't get enough!
Sephora boasts a VIP (or VIB - Very Important Beauty Insider) program that gives exclusive perks such as discounts, free samples, contests and more. Think of it as a bonus for shopping Sephora. Your Beauty Insider Card works both online and in stores, but with free shipping over $50 and 4.0% Cash Back from Ebates, it pays to shop online.
Tip: Shipping is free if your purchase is $50 or more, but be on the lookout for coupon codes that offer free shipping with a $25
purchase.
Reason #2 - Skincare Challenge
In addition to V.I.B. rewards, by shopping for your skincare at Sephora you can
enroll in the Skincare Challenge. I love the concept - for each skincare purchase over $20 you'll receive 1 credit. After accruing 4 credits you're eligible for one of three full sized featured products. Free! You can always hold off until something more to your liking is featured, but keep in mind items are switched on a needed basis. As much as I love the rewards program I'd like to see customers be able to pick out any skincare product they desire, as long as it's under a set dollar amount. Let's face it, as women we all have different skin types and tones, and we're looking to target different areas. Factor in different ages, and well, you get the point!
Tip: While you're shopping the website make sure to check out the sale section for savings of up to 75% off. Check back often, it's updated frequently and the best items sell out fast!
Reason #3 - Customer Service
One of the things that makes Sephora so unique is their hassle free return policy. They will take anything back, whether you have the receipt or not. It's refreshing especially in this economy, to see a business stand behind their brands and products! The customer service that I've encountered at Sephora.com and in Sephora stores is nothing short of stellar. Returns and exchanges are also FREE. When your order arrives a return label will be included for fast and easy service.
Reason #4 - Beauty Updates
I love to follow Sephora on Twitter and Facebook for up to date information regarding awesome sales, exclusive products, contests and bonus incentives. No beauty guru can resist!

Flip through any fashion and beauty magazine or tune into any blog and you will likely see some kind of reference to healthy, glowing skin and how to achieve it. Tricks on how to turn dull and pallid skin into a glowing and healthy complexion are a dime a dozen. Of course, drinking lots of water, getting enough sleep and maintaining a healthy diet are indispensable components to looking and feeling your best, but there are other ticks of the trade that can lend a helping hand too. Of all the products I have tried, documented here, here and here, I have truly found one that reigns above the rest in actually delivering a lovely glow. This NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is truly a complexion miracle worker. Most of us need some coverage to make our skin look its best and this formula provides just the right amount without masking the skin. Plus, it is made with a proven skin brightening complex, found to brighten the completion and soften lines in just twenty-eight days. And good news for those of us who battle with changing skin texture depending on the season. It is very hydrating, so during the warmer Summer months, you can forgo a moisturizer and wear this over your sunscreen with a beautiful result.

Summer is a good time of year for so many things we love; cook-outs, long days, outdoor sports, skimpy clothing and sun-tans. One thing Summer is not good for is hair. No matter what your hair type or which climate you live in, this season brings some bad-hair conditions that in turn require a little extra effort to tame. The biggest hair concern for most women is frizz as a result of humid temperatures. Luckily there are a ton of products on the market to help smooth frizz and keep hair sleek and smooth no matter how humid it gets. I'm sure you have heard many things about hair oils these days because of the effectiveness of these formulas on frizzy, dry and unmanageable hair- all common characteristics of Summer tresses. I have tried a few brands but the big name out there is the Moroccan Oil. Seen in countless magazines and promoted by stars and taste-makers like Rachel Zoe and Allure Magazine, this treatment is the answer to a frizzy headed girls prayers. Because it is so popular, it is hard to find and many stores have sold out. Although, you can get your hands on a bottle through eBay and earn cash back and free shipping in the process.
Another common Summer hair problem is dryness and color fading from too much time in the sun or from salt water and chlorine. One way to prevent this is to wear a hat ( like these stylish hair and skin protectors) but, that is not always possible, especially when you are swimming or playing in the sun. Luckily you can protect your hair from sun and chemical damage with products from Frederick Fekkai's Summer Hair Collection, avaliable with 8.0% Cash Back and and additional 20% off at Skinstore.com. If I am out in the sun, I always pre-treat my hair with Beachcomber Leave-In Conditioner, formulated with moisture boosters, shine enhancers and a UV filter. Find also shampoo and conditioner and styling treatments in the same line.

This time of year, it is all about simplifying your health and beauty routine to maximize results with minimal effort. Warm weather brings changing skin concerns; from unwanted oiliness to melting makeup and sun protection, the key is finding the right products so that you can look your best regardless of the fluctuating temperatures. The same is true for haircare. Summer is the time to invest in frizz fighting products and a deep conditioner to combat damage from water, heat and the sun. Also, it is crucial to protect skin with the right sunblock, regardless of how much time you will spend outside. Check out this Video Blog straight from EbatesTV for ideas on everyday sunscreen options and heavy-duty formulas for outdoor activities.

Any skincare professional will stress the importance of exfoliation. Whether it is a doctor or an esthetician, the first thing they will ask is if you exfoliate. While it seems that a buffing body wash or some TLC with a washcloth would do the trick, proper exfolation requires either a physical exfoliant ( body scrubs made with sugar, nuts, pumice etc.) or a chemical exfoliant ( salicylic acid or glycolic acid). For body, I tend to prefer physical exfolants because find you can really pin-point problem areas like knees, back of legs, heels and give them a good scrub. I have tried everything out there from the expensive scrubs to the cheaper drugstore versions. And while it mostly comes down to personal preference, I have found that a middle of the road, all natural scrub is really doing the trick. This Welda Birch Body Scrub has literally transformed my legs from bumpy to smooth in a matter of weeks. Formulated with natural plant waxes and oils, this scrub is both effective and gentle on the skin. Buy it with the brand's Birch Cellulite Oil for the complete regimen and literally watch while the condition of your skin improves. Both are moisturizing and will keep your skin glowing, smooth and taut. Buy both from Vitacost for 40% off the retail price, super-fast shipping and 5.0% Cash Back.

Summer is right around the corner and all I can think about are ways I can update my look for warmer temperatures and sunny days. I mostly have the fashion side covered. I have updated my wardrobe with a few fashion items and I am still on the hunt for some accessories. What I have neglected to do is address my Summer beauty regime. One thing that I tend to do every Summer is get an eye lash tint. When it is warmer out, my mascara tends to flake more, my eyes feel more sensitive and when its very hot ( which its rarely is in San Francisco, but nonetheless) simplifying the beauty regime as much as possible is key. But, lash tinting can be expensive and even painful especially for those with sensitive eyes. Luckily, the brains in the beauty biz have already come up with a solution in the form of at home lash tints. This one, from Tarte is made with natural ingredients and tints lashes for up to four days. Plus it is fortified with vitamins and a unique PolyFlex™ technology for easy application. Pick it up at Sephora for just $18 and 4.0% Cash Back From Ebates.
Another great option that is generating a lot of buzz in the beauty world comes from renowned makeup artist Jemma Kidd. The Lasting Lash Tint formula provides salon finish lash tinting and is 100% waterproof and smudge resistant. Plus, it comes in two shades, deep black and rich brown for a more natural look. Pick this up at Beauty.com, for $22 with 6.0% Cash Back and free gifts galore.

Part of my weekend ritual involves pulling up a chair to my dining room table, queuing up the laptop and doing some good old aimless 'internetting'. Fueled by coffee and a desire to lounge around, I always find myself getting lost in the labyrinth that is pointless internet research and shopping. Something that I will surely check out ( it will absolutely not be pointless but instead very dangerous to my shopping budget) is Bliss Spa. I can shop the best selection of the most coveted, results-driven skincare and beauty items, from the hottest gadgets to the best face masks, Bliss literally has it all. But before I scare you off, be sure to check it out for great deals. Not only do they offer 4.0% Cash Back, but also free shipping on any order and huge samples, gift with purchase and great deals. I am a huge fan of this All Around Eye Cream, which is hailed as the best eye cream for your buck. Priced at $28, the formula packs ingredients found in some of the $100+ eye creams and it really works. Not only does it hydrate, but it also minimize fine lines and diminishes the look of dark circles. Buy one for $28 or for a limited time get two full-size bottles for just $50.

A few weeks ago, I was flipping though a magazine grazing for new beauty products to try when I stumbled upon this unexpected and intriguing gem: Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Concealer/Brightener. As a leading brand in anti-aging skincare, I never really looked to PTR for innovations on the makeup font, however this product combines skincare innovation with a makeup staple, making it a great multi-tasker. After reading about it, I did a search for it online and discovered that it has sold out of many of our Health and Beauty Stores! Unlike other people who would give up or wait for a restock, I had to have it. Luckily, Beauty.com has a few left in the light/medium shade. Even more lucky was this discovery coincided with Beauty.com's Friends and Family Sale, where you can get 20% off, 6.0% Cash Back and free shipping on every order. Originally $35, I'll save $7 with just the Friends and Family discount alone. Plus, I will get the satisfaction of sharing it with you before the rest of them sell out and before the Friends and Family Sale ends tonight!

I recently read about this Coppertone Sensitive Skin sunblock and gave it a try. Formulated with Zinc Oxide, this sunblock is suitable for the most sensitive skin and will protect against broad spectrum UVA/UVB rays. The SPF 50 cream glides on skin, does not leave a dreaded white cast and withstands a good amount of sweating, towel drying and swimming. This is a great sunblock for kids and those with fair skin. Currently it is on sale for $8.99 with an additional $3 off all Coppertone items.

As one gets older, birthdays become less and less exciting and more and more traumatic. It really is just another day marking another notch on the ol' time line. Interestingly enough, my birthday coincides with Ebates' Eleventh Anniversary ( as Allie mentioned it is Birthday season at the Ebates HQ). Yep, Ebates is turning eleven. And unlike others celebrating their birthdays this week, Ebates has something to celebrate. We will commemorate eleven great years of cash back and millions of loyal members. I am more than happy to give up my moment in the sun and let Ebates shine as over sixty of our stores will offer 11.0% Cash Back for the occasion and a ton of ways for our users to celebrate. My own personal celebration of Ebates Anniversary will focus on the ten Health and Beauty brands giving commemorative cash back. Now is a great time to stock up on all my heath and beauty necessities and treat myself to a something special when I can take advantage of unprecedented cash back amounts from my favorite stores like; Sephora, Ulta, Bobbi Brown, SkinStore, Lancôme, Vitamin World, Puritan's Pride, Fragrance.net, Proactive Solution and Yves Rocher. Unlike the boy pictured above, I will forgo some birthday cake and instead go crazy in some cash back!

Lately it seems that every week there is a new miracle ingredient in skincare. Every product claims to have all the right ingredients to fight aging and free-radicals with the most anti-oxidant protection. In light of all of the conflicting information out there, it is hard to know what is true and to determine which ingredients are proven wrinkle-fighters and which are pretty much useless. As always, I recommend seeking out information from a health care professional who can address your particular needs. However, in general, a rule of thumb I tend to live by in terms of skincare ingredients is that if it is good for me to ingest and I can pronounce it, it is probably good for my skin. Case in point: Vitamin C. We all know that Vitamin C is good for your immune system and a vital ingredient for overall health. What you may not know, is that topical Vitamin C is great for skin and one of the only ingredients proven to protect skin from sun-damage, one of the leading causes of premature aging. Vitamin C also helps reduce inflammation, evens skin tone and helps to impart a healthy glow. Now before you go out and buy a new skincare regime packed with Vitamin C, test out how it works with your skin with Philosophy's Turbo Booster C Powder for just $35 and 3.5% Cash Back from Ebates. This powder can boost the effectiveness of your current products ( you add a touch of the powder to your morning moisturizer) and boasts the 99.8% potency of Vitamin C. Just a few days of using this powder in my daily moisturizer and I could already tell a difference in my skin in terms of clarity and tone. And what's even better, I didn't have to buy another moisturizer.

While I retrain my hair to live without styling tools and hair color, I have been struggling to get creative with ways to style it. Luckily, braids are still a huge trend this year and also a great hairstyle for any person with a length/texture/color issue. My inspiration is from the loose side braids seen at the Alexander Wang runway show. This side braid look has been popular since the Spring 2010 runway debut because most women are in the same boat as me and want a hairstyle that is easy to do and looks good no matter what condition your hair is in. All you will need are some basic hair tools, a good shampoo that will smooth the hair shaft and some practice braiding your hair. Start with a quality shampoo like this from Kerastase, avaliable at Drugstore.com with 6.0% Cash Back. You want to make sure that your hair is smooth and full of body. Next, use a good paddle brush to add a little volume to the hair to achieve the messy look on top. Use the brush to put a deep side part in your hair and brush the excess length. Make sure to have bobbi pins and clear, inconspicuous hair ties on hand, these are ideal from Sephora. Braid your hair down the side and leave some messy pieces out, this look is not precise at all. Pin back any layers that do not fit into the braid and finish it all off with a shine-enhancing hair spray like this one from Beauty.com, where you will also get 6.0% Cash Back.

Just as difficult as buying a gift for someone when you have no idea what to get them, is when you need to buy a gift for someone and you have too many options. This is the problem I run into when I need to buy my mom a gift. Because we share similar interests and I know exactly what her taste is, I see things all the time that I want her to have. Another layer of difficulty results from our Mother's Day promotion. With twelve of my favorite stores offering increased cash back and coupons for extra savings, I had so many options for places to get the right thing. Before I started shopping, I needed to have a gift in mind to avoid being completely overwhelmed. Luckily, one of my favorite blogs, Refinery 29 had the perfect Mother's Day Gift Guide to help me in my hunt. They featured this Jeff Koons for Kiehl's Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist (proceeds go to support the Rainforest Alliance), avaliable at Nordstrom for $26 and with 5.0% Cash Back. This Limited-Edition product is avaliable in four collectible bottles designed by Jeff Koons ( as pictured left) Malia Jones, Julianne Moore or Pharell Williams.

As a participant in our Mother's Day Promotion, Lancôme has increased their cash back to a staggering 12.0%, which is exciting enough. But, in addition to their double-digit cash back they also have an coupon (code: SPRINGBEAUTY) for free shipping on any order and a free samples of Juicy Tubes and mascara with any purchase (hurry, ends tonight!). If you have gifts to get but are not sure what to buy, have no fear: Lancôme has a gift guide to help you out. Buying a luxurious gift set from Lancôme sends the right message-you want to show them you appreciate their contribution to your life and give them something that will make them feel pampered and special. Choose from one of Lancôme's coveted Fragrance sets, specially priced for Mother's Day will full-size products that will relax and pamper for days to come.
My pick is this classic Hypnose Senses Captivate Perfume Set, for $52.50 (an $88 value). The set comes with Eau de Parfum Spray, body lotion and wash. It is truly everything a busy mom could need to feel great.

I have waited until the last possible minute to buy some Spring skincare essentials because I find more excitement in buying new beauty products rather than replacements. I figure with the coupon, it would be a good time to stock up on some of the regulars in my medicine chest. One of these items ( that actually stays in my purse) is a little expensive but totally worth the price, especially after 15% off. This Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Powder SPF 45 is the ideal sunscreen for anyone up likes to touch up on the go, for those who travel often, or just for anyone who hates the greasy feeling of a liquid sunscreen. Each tube lasts quite often and at 15% off, you can save $4.50 and subtract also 4.0% Cash Back ($1.02) and you will save over $5 on this handy, skin-saving essential.

If you asked most women, I would guess that they all have something they do not like about their skin. And while it says something about our culture of being discontent with our physical appearance, it also gives doctors, scientists and beauty innovators a push to find great products that solve skin problems. One big skin problem is acne. Acne is a big problem because it doesn't just involve pimples but also lingering skin problems, dullness, discoloration and even scaring. Anyone who has suffered from acne will know that a real winning acne product will not only treat acne but also improve the condition of skin. Enter Tria, a new store with an award-winning, scientist developed, editor favorite acne clearing product that is proven to improve acne and deliver better results than any leading acne treatment! When you shop Tria though Ebates, not only will you get 4.0% Cash Back on your purchase, but you will also get free shipping, free returns and a 30-day money back guarantee. It is completely risk free and judging by the before and after shots, completely worth it. With so many harsh treatments out there, its refreshing to see a results-driven product that is gentle on the skin.

When I think about turquoise eyeliner I instantly think of my mother's wedding album from the 1970's. Pictured in the album is a bevy of bridesmaids all dolled up with full-on blue eyeshadow. And while the look was so en vogue at the time, it's hard for me not to think of that when I see reports about the blue eyeliner trend for Spring 2010. Even if you also conjure up outdated images in your mind when you think of blue eyeliner, when done right, it is a fresh look and worth trying this Spring. Use the shot from Nanete Lapore's runway show pictured left for inspiration ( photo courtesy of Elle.com). Here, the liner is placed under the eye and complimented by subtly orange cheeks and an of-the-moment orange lip. For an edgier look, line the lower lid. To take some baby steps into the trend, line the upper lid as you normally would. Make sure to use an eyeliner that is nice and creamy because while you want to trace a precise line, you also want to keep it a little smudged. One of my favorite eyeliner formulas is the NARS eyeliner pencil. This long-wearing pencil is perfectly creamy but also traces a good line that stays put. Try it in Kitty, a good shade of turquoise blue. Get it at Sephora, for $20 and take advantage of 8.0% Cash Back for March. Polish off the look with a beautiful, slightly sheer orange lipstick like Yves Saint Laurent lipstick in Orange Shiver and a blendable cheek stain like Tarte natural check stain in Eco-Cheek a super-flattering coral hue with a touch of shimmer, also at Sephora.

On the first official full day of Spring, my thoughts have instantly turned to all the ways I can fully enjoy the new season. For some reason, this year I am especially excited about it. I am ready for some sunshine, which, may or may not happen here in San Francisco. We have had some sun for the past week and that is enough to kick start my "I have to look good for Spring" attitude. Bring on the self-tanner (this one from Clarins I have written about many a time, and its less of a fake tanner and more of a "rejuvenating skin treatment"). Glowing skin is always in style and with so many products out there, it is easy to fake a healthy glow all year round.

As much as I love the time of year when Daylight Saving Time begins (nothing says Summer like sunshine until well after 7 p.m.), the time change always takes some getting used to. Judging by the cacophony of yawns around the office and the glazed-over looks of people on the streets, I am not the only one losing sleep. Since my sleep problems persist throughout the year, I have developed a few tricks to ease my sleeplessness, especially during times when it gets worse. If you have trouble sleeping, any doctor will tell you to develop a sleep routine that you perform every night. This routine will help tell your body that it is time to relax and prepare for sleep. While I will not bore you with the details of my sleep routine, I have found through many years of trial and error that a few items always help me catch some z's.
Once you have stocked up on some sleep accessories, you can try some teas and supplements to improve the quality and duration of sleep (please note: always consult a doctor or medical professional before taking any supplements). For everyday use, I am a big fan of Yogi Bedtime Tea, available for just $2.88 from Vitacost. Gentle but effective, this tea contains natural herbs to calm and relax the mind and body. For something stronger and good for short bouts of insomnia, Melatonin is your friend. All natural but potent, Melatonin will help you get to sleep and stay asleep longer. Dosage and instructions depend on the brand, so see the package for instructions. Get a bottle of Melatonin also from Vitacost for 60% off, priced at just $6.93 with 5.0% Cash Back from Ebates.

I have a decorative bowl on a table right by the door in my apartment. The bowl holds various items from earplugs to loose change, old and new makeup items, and even one of those tools that comes with Ikea furniture. Rarely do I feel inclined to reach for an old makeup item in that bowl and give it a try, but this morning I did and for the first time in a while I have rediscovered and I am now obsessed with the bowl-by-the-door castaway!

Spring is a great time to revamp the beauty routine. As the weather changes, so should our beauty regime, and this kind of savings is a great time to add some new items to the routine without breaking the bank. I need to pay more attention to what I use for body care, especially since most Spring trends require bearing some skin. I know a trusted name in beauty like Yves Rocher will have everything I need to sport a floral frock, Spring's shorts, and tanks without exposing my winterous skin! A best-seller priced at an affordable $21 (that's over 50% off) is this 14-Day Body Refiner, which claims to transform skin in just two weeks. Applied day and night, this can only help to tone, smooth, and moisturize problem areas as you give yourself some much needed at-home relaxation and spa time. Add this Argan Balm for $14.50 and you have earned $10 off plus double-digit cash back, and this luxurious body care routine is now amazingly guilt free!

This is a necessary, albeit not life shattering, message from your self-proclaimed Ebates beauty junkie. But I know how you can try one of the highest SPF, best-for-your-skin sunblocks for less, with cash back from Ebates and a free gift!

The key to this look is not necessarily to abandon all of your makeup, but rather invest in a lighter, more sheer collection of colors and go from there. Perfectly suited for this is the brand new Philosophy The Color Of Grace Collection. The new collection is named after the cult favorite fragrance Grace, and features all things pink and beautiful for lips, cheeks, eyes, and face. Add some glow to your skin with the Heavenly Light Pink Illuminator and Amazing Grace Shimmering Face Powder, define your eyes with the Eyelighting Shadow Duo, and polish your lips with the gorgeous pink Angle Kiss Lip Gloss. With these gorgeous colors, you will achieve that "barely there" look without it actually being barely there. You will be Springtime ready, gorgeously pink, and glowing in no time.

As much as I love to try out the newest, latest, and greatest beauty products I find myself seeking comfort in the reliability of good old beauty favorites. What I mean is, some beauty items, whether it be your favorite mascara, perfect foundation, or go-to gloss will always do the job and therefore hold a special place in the beauty addict's heart. For me, no matter how many tubes of new mascara I buy (all chronicled on the Ebates blog) I always find myself returning to Yves Saint Laurent Faux Cils because I know its going to work and I know the tube is going to last, and it is the dependability that I find so comforting from time to time when my new formula mascara flings feel a little too risky. I also find comfort in Sephora. I know they will give me free samples, I know they will pay me 4.0% Cash Back, I know they will have my Faux Cils, and I know I will always leave with more in my shopping cart than I went in for.

I have always wanted to have that dewy, rosy-glow skin that I see on models and celebrities. And while I have realistic expectations about what is actually healthy skin and what is photo-shopped, I still think my skin could use and extra push to be more glowing and supple. This is something I think most women want which is why there are millions of products promising to deliver more supple, radiant skin. It is my experience that most products do not, however, give me the glow I am looking for. That was the case until I got my hands on Bliss Lab's newest creation this Triple Oxygen + C Energizing Cream, avaliable at Sephora for $54 with 8.0% Cash Back from Ebates. This newly released moisturizer is inspired by their famous oxygen mask and is packed with a double dose of beautifying oxygen, tons of Vitamin C ( a proven glow enhancer) and is paraben free.

There are many ways do do this rinse but I recommend this method because it is simple, does not take much time, and the vinegar smell is less apparent this way. First, wait until your hair is not clean, maybe a day or two after washing depending on how long you usually go between washes. Put one to two tablespoons of ACV into a one quart measuring cup filled with warm water (keep this ratio in mind if you need to add more water to saturate your hair). Stand over a sink or in the shower and pour the mixture onto your head, then comb through. Leave it on for up to half an hour, rinse, and then wash and condition as usual. Because the apple cider vinegar will reduce the product build-up on your hair and balance PH levels, your hair will be shiner and have more volume. It really is a great treatment that you can do one to two times a week. I am very pleased with the results and although it smells pretty bad, it is totally worth it because my hair feels (and looks) healthier.

I have gushed about my love for The Body Shop many a time on the blog, and I will again because they have a great selection of products, many of them natural and organic, and the company is socially responsible. To me, nothing says, "Thinking of you, my Valentine" like a luxurious, natural bath and body product to pamper with. A good place to start for a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift is the Olive Body Butter (a cult favorite), now 25% off and just $15. Add the Olive Body Scrub for a truly relaxing totally indulgent experience. Plus, get free shipping and 8.0% Cash Back when you shop through Ebates.

Cleaning my shower over the weekend was a real rude awakening. I say this because the most laborious aspect of the job was clearing out my shower contents before I started to clean, rather than the actual scrubbing. In the process of moving several bottles of near-empty shampoo, half-opened and now dried out sample packages, water-logged conditioner bottles, and three different facial cleansers, I realized that it was time to get rid of some things, even if there is a chance that some day I may be compelled to use the two year old conditioner I bought on a whim. I threw out all of the stuff I do not use on a weekly basis and realized that I was ready to streamline and employ some multi-tasking products into the shower routine on the condition that no amount of shower space was worth having products that I did not love. I'd rather feel like a hoarder than step out of the shower feeling unsatisfied.

I fear, however, that now it's time to get a little proactive and kick this cold in the teeth. Despite the fact that I'm currently in my cubicle in the office (don't worry, I'm in a pretty remote location, so I won't risk infecting those around me), I am daydreaming about the comforts of my bed and how much I'd rather be there. (I don't dislike being in the office, but let's be real - wouldn't you rather be in bed right now too?) No matter whether you're in bed fighting your illness, or if you're working in the office like yours truly, you could be ordering your cold-fighting supplies right where you are. With the help of drugstore.com I'll be able to stock up on all my needs: vitamin C tablets, cough suppressant, decongestant, the whole nine. It's sad, but considering I almost never get sick, I don't have any of these basics on hand.

I stocked up on some less exciting things (shampoo, some skincare items) but really got in deep to the Beauty.com site and found the most genius invention ever. This is a real life-changer for anyone who has had to pay for expensive alterations to hem the length of their pants only to wish that the pants were a little longer or for those of you who alter pants different lengths to work with flat shoes and heels. Hemming My Way is a snap hem with adhesive backing that allows you to snap and unsnap the hem of your pants for any heel height. Or, keep them hemmed at one length and save in alteration costs. Each set is removable and reusable eight times (perfect for traveling with several pairs of pants) and works on most fabrics. For just under $20 this will truly save me hundreds on alteration costs... which leaves me with much more to spend on all the things I love.

As a part of Dior Beauty's runway-inspired collection DiorShow, the brow filler is intended to give you the look of expertly-styled runway brows anytime. The perfectly precise pencil tip (that never requires sharpening) fills in brows, shapes, and defines subtly, but with noticeable results. I will be honest and admit that I never really make new years resolutions. I find that the letdown of not following through on a resolution is usually worse for my psychological state than the bad habit I want to break. One thing I always do is try to get a little healthier. I like to clean out the old and bring in the new; usually some part of this process involves my closet and my heath and beauty routine.

I recently purchased Method "Squeaky Green" laundry detergent, from drugstore.com and got 6.0% Cash Back from Ebates and also 15% off the suggested retail price. But let me say that getting a good deal on this detergent was the least of my excitement. I have tried many formulas that I didn't feel cleaned my clothes or was gentle enough on all my prized delicates and settled on mediocre detergents for far too long. That is until I gave this a try!

No matter how much you love the holidays, this time of year is always a bit stressful and takes an obvious toll on the complexion. Holiday stress mixed with falling temperatures always makes me look rather peaked even if I am full of Holiday cheer. If you are looking for just the right pick me up for your skin, look no further than Fresh Twilight Face Glow, available at Sephora for $36 with 8.0% Cash Back. I was initially turned off by the price tag, thinking that it was way too expensive for something that would likely promise a lot more than it actually delivered. It delivers! Mixing a bit of this luminous cream with my moisturizer everyday adds just the right amount of dewy glow, a little bit of moisture and makes the skin look virtually flawless. Plus, it is packed with vitamins and anti-oxidants, smells nice, and feels so luxurious. It makes the perfect gift for anyone on your list, as you can give someone a little holiday glow.

It wasn't until recently I realized how much better my tweezing experience could be. Especially since I was introduced to Tweezerman. At the recommendation of a number of well-wishers, I tracked down a pair of Stainless Steel Slant Tweezers from Sephora, and now I have the lazer-precision that comes with a pair of well-sharpened precision tweezers, all for a mere $20. What makes me even more confident is that not only do I get 8.0% Cash Back through Ebates, I know I can feel confident that I invested $20 in a pair of tweezers that will last me the rest of my life, as Tweezerman boasts lifetime sharpening if my tweezers ever get dull.

A recurring theme in my health and beauty posts is saving time in the morning. Just the other day, in a typical rush, I was on a hunt for an elastic headband. With the shower running and no time to spare, I rifled through an absurd amount of beauty and makeup products searching for what proved to be a needle in a haystack. At that moment, like so many times before, I vowed to find a better storage method to keep all of my toiletries stored and accessible. My hunt started with fond memories of my first beauty storage device and 80's toy icon: Caboodles. You may recall Caboodles from the eighties; they were tinted plastic tackle box-style storage containers that were easily transportable. Girls would use Caboodles to store their makeup, hair scrunchies, Barbie clothes and more.
Although they are rather outdated, they were quite practical, would hold a ton of stuff, and could slip into the cupboard under the sink. Driven by this memory, I did a quick search of my favorite Ebates merchants and I discovered that you still could buy Caboodles, with a new more updated look but same great practicality. Get your sleek and updated Caboodles Ultimate Organizer from Walgreens for $29.99 with 4.0% Cash Back from Ebates and end your struggle to keep your products organized.

By the time Wednesday rolls around, the past weekend is a distant memory and you have fully immersed yourself in the work routine. So good ol' hump day is usually dominated by feeling that the weekend is so close but at the same time, so far away. I find that by the time Wednesday rolls around all my promises to myself to "be more put together" have faded and I am more focused on getting rest. This morning, after a late start, I was in desperate need for a little pick-me-up to get me through the week and over the hump of hump-day. I reached for an old favorite, my bright-pink Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush (available at Bloomingdale's with 3.0% Cash Back and $5 shipping on all beauty orders). With a couple of swoops on the checks, I instantly felt (at least that I looked) a little rested with a natural healthy glow. Despite my rather lackluster outfit choice and hurried attempt to do my makeup, the blush made me feel more put together and ready for the day.

So I bought my first bottle of Castor oil from the Vitamin Shoppe through Ebates for just $4.99 with 6.0% Cash Back. And I figured, at best my lashes could grow a bit (I also plan to applying it to sparse spot in my eyebrow) and at worst they could be naturally conditioned for under $5. Since I am by no means an impartial judge of my own lash growth, I thought that I could document my before and afters and let the readers be the judge! Starting today, I will apply nightly for three weeks and compare before and after shots to see if there is any discernible difference.
Pick up your bottle from the Vitamin Shoppe and do your own at-home trial or wait to see the results and decide for yourself!

It's that time of year when the onset of dry, cold weather coupled with overzealous hand-washing (twenty seconds!) causes dry skin that's virtually impossible to get rid of. Slathering your hands in a quality hand lotion several times a day is the only way to save them from being painfully dry and cracked. It's usually this time of year when I stock up on several tubes to equip my apartment, cubicle, and handbag so that I can be constantly moisturizing after constantly washing.

And best of all its suitable for short and long hair and will polish a variety of styles.

I won't lie to you, folks. When I first saw "Apothica" on the Ebates stores list, I thought it was a heavy metal band. Then I realized that would be crazy. The blogosphere was abuzz after Michelle Obama was photographed at the White House earlier this week sporting what seemed to be a shorter cut, complimenting her fresh-faced, rosy makeup and dressed in an embellished white dress. Despite the speculation that she had actually cut her hair, it has now been confirmed that she had just styled it differently. Which is proof of what a few bobbi pins and some styling product can do to spice up the hair routine for a new look. This is especially key for those of us on a budget and stretching out the time between haircuts.
All you need are some bobbi pins, like these for just $1.49 with 6% Cash Back at Drugstore.com. Make sure to blow dry your hair smooth and finish it off with a shine enhancing styling creme. Around this time of year, I always look in horror at the pasty whiteness that has become of my skin. And true to my yearly habit, I think two thoughts when I examine myself: one, I need a tan, and two, I need to wear lots and lots of sunscreen. While most health care professionals will agree that sun protection is a year-round thing, my regimen consists of sun block on the face year-round and on the body only when the extremities are exposed. Indeed, it is getting to be about that time where sun protection needs to reach farther than the face.

When it comes to the things human beings actually need, we are quite simple, visceral beings who crave the totally obvious. When it comes to the things we want, both life and the laundry list of things we are ready to acquire gets far more complicated. Luckily, there is Ebates to streamline the process of coming to terms with the list, and using it will help me save on things I either need or want, with cash back, online coupons, discount stores and online rebates. I become a particularly happy human when I shop and save with Sephora coupons. I am still taking advantage of the March cash back increase and have used the free shipping Sephora coupon (code SHIP35) every chance I get: like if my shampoo gets dangerously low, or if I need to spice up my makeup rotation on a particularly uninspired day. As the month long cash back increase (to a fantastic 8%, nothing to shake your cup at) at Sephora continues, I have not yet reached the point where I lack inspiration for blog postings about the matter. That's probably because I have yet to reach a point where I visit the Sephora site and do not feel the urge to buy something. No, this has not happened, not yet, and likely not ever. But my addiction is not always so harmless on my wallet, and while I save money with Sephora coupons, free gifts, and cash back, I am not yet lucky lady on the Millionaire Matchmaker so something's got to give.

The morning is full of obstacles and dilemmas, such as: what to wear and how not to be late. These two dilemmas are both interconnected and greatly complicated for most women on a regular basis. I also find that the question of "what makeup to wear today" dominates my slightly functional early morning brainwaves. As the days grow longer and slightly warmer, the makeup routine, much like outfits, needs to shift accordingly. If a Spring-appropriate makeup look is what I am after, I must asses what I have to work with: boxes full (overflowing, really) of makeup and beauty products. I think I need some help because my early morning brain is not going to formulate a Spring-like beauty look on its own, and when the midday sun is blazing, I will regret the sleep-deprived, half-awake time saving decision to go for an "au naturale" look for the day.

My most recent purchase and current obsession is Kinerase Clear Skin Blemish Dissolver, $39. The price is a bit steep, but it is honestly worth every penny (plus you will get free shipping and earn $3.12 in cash back), because it works amazingly well and it is the only product you need to treat skin eruptions. This is the product for people who have sensitive skin with problem areas or the occasional blemish. I have used it for just two days on a small blemish, post-blemish mark, and some blackheads, all of which have dramatically diminished. What was originally a mid-day impulse buy turned out to be one of my favorite purchases, and one that I would recommend that any woman have in their beauty arsenal. Use it twice a day, even on the go, and watch the blemishes dissolve...

Running late for work on Friday morning, I arrived at my desk, ready to greet the day with coffee in hand and surprising feelings of early-morning, pre-weekend optimism despite my rushing and lethargy. After tackling some work, I checked a mirror and realized that in my rushing around I had forgotten to apply mascara, the ultimate feel-good beauty product, which can transform a face from looking sleepy and over-tired into looking at least somewhat put together. As much as I don't like a too made up face for the daytime, it's nice to at least look like you attempted to pull yourself together for a day at work. I quickly recalled a magazine article, featuring a beauty expert (whose name escapes me at the moment) that recommended applying Vaseline to eyelashes as a makeshift mascara for ladies who had either found themselves in my position or who wanted the most natural look. I reached for my trusty tube of Vaseline (travel size - an amazing little must have, f.y.i) that finds its home in the pen holder on my desk, and I applied liberally to the top and bottom lashes. Viola! I looked like I had the separation and glossy after-effect of a quick coat of mascara. It did not leave me with dramatic peepers, but definitely added something extra to make my eyes appear more awake. Pleased with the result, decided to stockpile tubes of Vaseline, in case I am ever without.

One way to make shopping for life's necessary, albeit mundane, items more exciting is by seeking out the best deal for those little things we all hate to buy. I will speak for myself here, although I am fairly sure that most people will agree, that contact lenses are probably on the list of the least exciting things a person is forced to buy. Nothing seems worse than shelling out money to see my eye doctor, and then handing over even more money for lenses (that I have to come back to pick up at least a week later). I really like my eye doctor, he's a nice guy, but seeing him and paying him once a year is enough for me.

It seems everywhere you turn, someone or something is taking a more natural approach. Such was true even at last night's Academy Awards. With the world going green and using less energy, my favorite celebs seemed to be channeling this very idea with minimal styling and primping. Glam goddesses such as Jennifer Aniston went back to basics working in a pretty braid, and a few hot rollers. Beyonce opted for a fresh take on the ponytail, and Sarah Jessica Parker lowered her carbon footprint with a simple part down the middle with some tousled curls. Hollywood is going au naturale, and I'm loving every second of it.

Although today is meant to be filled with high fructose corn syrup, overbearing perfume, and depressed singles, I'm going to step outside the box and not succumb to the frenzy that is Valentine's Day. After spending two years in overpriced and overcrowded restaurants, the bf and I gave up on going out for a special night. Like a true couple, we now stay home and get everything delivered. As far as my clothing is concerned, let's just say my attire has more flannel than frills this year.

In a time when even "The Donald" needs to squeeze an extra few weeks in between trims or root touch ups and color appointments, its best to make sure we are using products to make that extra time full of good hair days rather than a stale mix of hats, pony tails, deep side parts, and headbands. So what does a girl need for a time when even your hair is on a budget?

I can say for sure that a replacement tube of Makeup Forever Smoky Lash will be in my shopping cart, and I wholeheartedly recommend that you put one in yours too. As if I needed an excuse to praise my newest mascara obsession... allow me to list some things that make it praiseworthy. First, in a time where a $30 mascara doesn't cause beauty junkies to bat an eye, the $22 price is reasonable; especially with respect to how well this mascara works. It is at least four separate formulas in one. It thickens, lengthens, and holds a fantastic curl whilst providing the darkest black pigment without weighing lashes down. And for those of you traditionalists out there who are put off by the novelty application brush of some brands (Givenchy's Phenomen' Eyes, I still love you, I really do) Smoky Lash has the "Cadillac" of application brushes: perfect. classic. reliable. Makes any woman want to lash up.

Most women have their own modus operandi for applying eyeliner. Some apply thick lines, inner and outer lash line, there are thin lines, crooked lines, dashes, cat eyes. Essentially there is no single right or wrong way (I suppose some professionals would argue otherwise) to line the eye. Lately, it seems that partially lined eyes are making an appearance. Instyle.com tells us how to get the partially lined look as seen on Ginnifer Goodwin (pictured left). I really like the look, it is subtle and natural looking, which is a nice reprieve from the heavy liquid liner trend. Plus it makes eyes look bigger and more open, which is great for day time and when you are feeling a little too tired.
Get this look in a flash with Avon ANEW Smoothing Eyeliner. At a great bargain of just $6, with 5% cash back, this product is formulated with retinol to aid in diminishing fine lines and it will go on smoothly to avoid the dreaded pull and tug of other liners. Plus, it has has a smudger on the end, which is key for this look. Get it by drawing a line from pupil to outer corner on the top lid. Follow with the same technique on the lower lash line. Use the smudger on the end to blend where the lines meet at the outer corner of the eye. And Viola, you are done!

When I saw Lancome's Spring 2009 collection, I was excited to take a look, but when I saw the newest shade of La Laque Fever, I knew I was in love. I had been looking for the perfect shade of electric pink lipgloss to complete my pink lip color collection, and this color is definitely the missing link.
The color is concentrated and opaque, as you would expect from a lipstick, however, it has the easy application and shine expected of a great gloss. To add to the perfection, the gloss is extremely long lasting and claims to require no touch ups for six hours. It is available directly from Lancome for $26 with 6% cash back. To make the entire purchase even more appealing, if you spend $50, you will receive a deluxe sample and free shipping. Sometimes when you can't fall in love, you can buy the most perfect gloss.

However there is just one issue I take with this product. It's not the price, it's not the space it takes up; it's the "numerical dance platform." I understand the idea behind it, and I think it's great: this way anyone using the Body Burner can know where they should be facing and turning at all times. But look closely. That is not a platform, it's a trampoline. Let's call a spade a spade: this exercise machine is a trampoline. The numerical design is innovative, and I love the idea of a trampoline for low-impact exercise. But don't call it a "dance platform" folks. We're getting a trampoline exercise program, which I'm sure works well. I'd gladly spend the $59.95 for this package, complete with "dance platform", stability bar, DVDs, and even a nutrition guide, especially knowing I'll get 9% cash back on any Verseo purchase. My only hesitation is that nowhere in this whole product description does the word "trampoline" arise.

As for the body change, there's several things that need improving, and I'm not talking about "weight" as most people tend to obsess over. What I am talking about is the overall health and maintenance of my body, and for once I'll focus on the inside. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and this Green Drink from Institute For Vibrant Living is the best way to get all the benefits of green grasses and other cancer-preventing vegetables. Filled with anti-oxidants, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, this powder is what I like to call the stuff of life. It contains no allergens or pesticides, and as a green drinker I can honestly say that you will feel an improvement in your overall body health. Since starting this daily health boost, I've noticed that I crave sugar and carbs less, which is a miracle unto itself. Most health food stores sell these green powdered drinks for upwards of $40, but I found this for under twenty. Being an Ebates member means I earn 8% cash back, making my bank account healthy as well.
quite possibly be the only woman who hates this regimen, yet applying lotion during the cold winter months is not my cup of tea. However much I hate this chore, not doing so is leaving my body to resemble that of tree bark. Needless to say, this is not a look I am going for, and can be prevented with the help of Mountain Ocean Skin Trip. This lotion is not only natural (no toxins) but it dries fast and smells like coconut. I can't count the times I have been complimented on this lotion, and between the bf and myself, the bottle goes fast. Like most natural products, this one can be expensive if purchased at your local health food stores. Luckily for me, I found this on sale for under eight dollars at MotherNature.com, a mecca for all things natural and organic. Compared to the $12 I would pay elsewhere, I see no reason to ever pay top dollar again. Earning 7% cash back is reason enough to always shop Ebates.

1. Number one on my list would be a gift card to beauty heaven, also know as Sephora. Although my attempts at make-up application have sometimes been frightening, I still enjoy the task of picking out the perfect shades of eye shadow, finding the best blush, and the greatest task of all, matching my skin tone to a new foundation. In a perfect world, I would receive a gift card in the amount of $500, but I'll happily settle for $75.
who have been faithfully reading my blog (bless you) will know all about my obsessive tendencies to hunt through this site on a daily basis. Top on my list of items from this mega cool website is the Filomena Bag by Malababa. Also known as the chicest of briefcases, this bag will be complimenting my outfits for decades to come.
3. The next give-it-to-me Gift Card is none other than electronics central; Best Buy. Before I go and state my case, let me preface by saying that when it comes to electronics, I don't see what the big deal is. Blue-Ray, HD, blah blah blah. A TV is a TV, and if you want to be "in the movie", then I suggest an acting coach and a ticket to LA. It's because of this attitude that I rarely step inside a mega-chain store such as this, but for the few times that I have needed an electro-improvement, Best Buy offers the biggest selection and the best prices. Topping my list is a Zune 120gb MP3 Player. Alas after five years, the iPod Mini is dying a very slow death, and needs some serious upgrading such as more music space and the ability to watch videos.

First things first: always wear sun protection daily. While I loathe the sticky white film left by most sunscreens, this Clarins UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF 40 from Sephora for $40 with 8% cash back glides on smoothly and leaves no trace on the skin, which will make it easy enough to be protected. While I am using my Sephora Gift Card (that I will surely acquire over the holiday) I will also pick up this Peter Thomas Roth Age Defense Kit for $45, a $95 value.

Something happened last night that changed my life. When I discovered a small blemish on my face, instead of following my usual path of picking until red, swollen, and sore, I practiced some self-restraint and reached instead for my trusty tube of Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque. I put a little on the spot and woke up to a smaller, less irritated (and therefore easy to conceal) spot. The Masque is a perennial favorite in my ever-expanding medicine cabinet because it is truly a miracle worker on skin conditions of all types. From blemishes to bug bites - this product will clear anything away. There is a reason Mint Julep has been a favorite since it was developed it 1930.

Much to my excitement, I stumbled upon this Green Dimes Eliminate Home Junk Mail Gift Card, for just $19.99 with 7% cash back at Drugstore.com. This amazing gem promises to eliminate 90% of your home junk mail and plants up to five trees in your name! It really seems about as simple as can be possible: set it inside the housing and press a button, and the Zapi takes care of the rest. And by "the rest" I mean massacring germs and bacteria. So if you want a clean, fresh, and, most importantly, healty mouth, this is the product for you. Right now they're in stock and on sale at drugstore.com for $29.99, with 7% cash back. They're available in four colors, so you can find the one that best matches your personality (or just your bathroom) and it even comes with a matching toothbrush. But fear not, you don't need to use their supplied brush; the Zapi sanitizer it compatible with most every "traditional style" toothbrush or electric toothbrush head. From what I can gather "tradtional" just means that it's long, narrow and has bristles that you clean your teeth with.

The smoky eye look has remained a prominent trend in the beauty sphere for quite some time now. It's an ultra-feminine sultry look that instantly glamorizes your look and can update an old party dress in virtually an instant.

This look that requires some definite makeup application skill, and should not be taken lightly. It appears easy to achieve and somewhat haphazard on the models, but those models are gracing the runways of top designers for Spring 2009 like Matthew Williamson, Caroline Hererra and Nicole Miller to name a few, which means they have professionally trained makeup artists helping them achieve this look. But for those of us who can't afford our own makeup artists, it is probably one of the more difficult makeup tricks to master, save the cat-lined eye.
Cosmetics powerhouse Stila has removed the guesswork from the smoky eye by putting a step-by-step recording right into the smoky eye palette, essentially bringing the professional makeup artist to you. You press the button and a recording talks you through the five steps of an expert smoky eye using the universally-flattering coordinating shades. This little gem is available at Beauty.com for $40 with 7% cash back. So get ready for all your holiday parties and be prepared for the fresh Spring beauty trends of next year.

I am a big fan of gifts that come ready to be stuffed in a stocking or put under the tree. Despite all the things I love about Christmas and general Yule, I am not a big fan of wrapping. Perhaps it was because I was enslaved by my mother as a child as her wrapping buddy - because "Little Fingers are better at tying bows". Although I cherish those moments, I am never in to mood to sit down and wrap gifts, which is why I love that you can find the perfect gift for anyone that is prepackaged to be enjoyed - straight from store to tree. I feel this way about this Shu Umera 24K Gold Eyelash Curler for $24 with 8% cash back from Sephora. Not only is the Shu Umera Eyelash Curler an essential must-have in any beauty regimen, it is also perfectly pretty plated in 24K gold and ready to give in this decorative red box. I plead: Santa, if you're listening, I really want one.

With all the uncertainty involved with the harmful effects of chemicals found in traditional antiperspirants and deodorants, I have undergone a personal quest to find an all-natural alternative that actually works, meaning, keeping me fresh all day. I have tried many different brands and types, all of which have not lived up to my high standards. Unwilling to concede and accept the fact that a natural deodorant couldn't work as well as a chemically made one, I have scoured the ends of the health and beauty world to find a fair substitute.
I fell in love with L'Occitane Aromachologie Purifying Deodorant, available at the I very reluctantly moved on from this product and purchased Aubrey Organics Natural Roll-On Deodorant for $7.69 with 7% cash back from Drugstore.com. This product is completely natural, contains potent anti-oxidants, goes on clear and is not tested on animals. It is also biodegradable and recyclable. My verdict is that this brand is "so far so good." I feel great about using a product that is great for my body and environmentally conscious too. If you are going to toss your deodorant and go the au natural route, take note that it does take some time for your body to adjust to a new product before you can observe the benefits of a natural formula. And on a packaging note, it is quite cute. It also smells good without being overpowering and is not sticky so it makes for a fantastic unisex brand.

According to a economic barometer fondly called "The Lipstick Index" (reference a New York Times article printed Sunday) reports that during the last three months, cosmetic sales have been on the rise despite the sluggish economy. Meaning in a bad economy women still splurge on little "pick me ups", a.k.a. lipstick and cosmetics, when they can not always justify other, pricier things. Regardless of whether that is true for you or not, personally speaking, I am always spending my money on both, much to the chagrin of my savings account.
The real exiting aspect of the article is when they list the top 41 lipsticks, from merely $1.99 to over $50, so there is something to splurge on for every budget. What the article failed to mention, was that most all of these best selling lipsticks are available though Ebates with cash back! To see the entire list and read the article, click here.

Bobbi Brown's name is on some of the industry's best products ranging from skin care to color to makeup brushes. Now, all of this is available to you, with 4% cash back.

Most adults who partake in teeth staining activities say, drinking coffee, red wine, tea, or anything else that can tarnish your teeth have a moment when they look in the mirror and realize that their pearly whites are neither pearly nor white. Keeping you smile up to par is especially important if you are planning on being in photographs for a wedding or Holiday cards.
Either way, maintaining a healthy white smile can be just as important as the makeup you use or the clothes you wear. Although, beware of "glow in the dark" white teeth, they are both unnatural looking and frighteningly unattractive.
Professional whitening and regular dentist visits are always recommended, especially if you have really tough stains or desire to make your teeth dramatically whiter. However, at-home kits and whitening toothpastes can do the trick for brightening your smile. There are many whitening kits on the market. Most of the drugstore toothpaste brands have some kind of whitening kit, usually in the form of strips. A main complaint I share with people who have used brands of whitening strips is that they are slimy and slip off your teeth, preventing the whitening solution from really penetrating stains. According to Real Simple Magazine, in a feature on the best teeth whiteners on the market, Rembrandt Whitening Strips stay in place, are not slimy, and make your teeth much whiter in just five days. Rembrandt's Strips are currently on sale at Drugstore.com, for $19.99 with 7% cash back. You save $4 off the listing price. The strips are much cheaper than some of the others and boast great results in a limited amount of time.
To maintain a white smile after using the strips, without giving up your coffee, I recommend these GO SMILE Touch Up ampules. For $39 at Beauty.com with 7% cash back, you receive a kit of thirty breath-freshening, stain erasing mini whiteners that are easy to use and touch up on the go. These are perfect to carry around in your purse or briefcase, and can prepare you for a spur of the moment photo-op, a hot date, or a public speaking event. I tried these over the weekend, they work wonders! Plus, you can shop Beauty.com and partner site Drugstore.com, pay one flat rate for shipping and get both delivered to your door in just a few short days.
Keep your smile sparkling and your teeth healthy with a set of GO SMILE Whitening Toothpastes for AM and PM. The set of two, sells for $30 at Sephora with 8% cash back. These whitening, good for your teeth toothpastes have aromatherapy benefits to calm for PM and energize for AM. They have essential oils, naturally hydrated silica which safely polishes away stains to maintain your white smile, and the doctor recommended amount of fluoride to prevent decay and strengthen tooth enamel. These are definitely worth the little splurge because they taste great and contain healthy and natural ingredients, keeping your smile bright after all the work you have done to whiten! Compared to a professional whitening system, this is a great way to get results and save money while earning some extra cash back shopping through Ebates! You don't see that at your dentist's office.
So before you buy that statement red lipstick or take holiday photos, brighten that smile and give yourself a mini-makeover and boost of confidence for less. Shop on!

Although Smashbox products have been available through other merchants in the past, there is definitely something to be said about visitng a brand's own website, where you can really get a feel for the brand and seek advice from a Smashbox expert through live chat, email, or by phone. They also have a great interactive site.

As the most traveled day of the year quickly approaches, Americans brace themselves for an onslaught of travel annoyances, delays, and setbacks summed up in one word: nightmare. I am grateful there is the prospect of turkey on the other side of my plane ride, and I am sure that this is the same sentiment that motivates people to contend with the hassle.
As Thanksgiving eve approaches, I start to obsessively plan my travel modus operandi. One of the many things that freaks me out about flying (other than the prospect of death) is making the choice of whether or not to check my luggage. I can either risk loss or damage and extra long lines to check a bag or simply carry on a bag, which is also problematic. I fear the idiot trying to push his giant bag into the overhead compartment as he crushes all my valuables. I was a devoted "carry-oner" until the TSA regulations mandated that all liquids must be 3 ounce or less and fit inside of a quart-sized baggie. I need to have a nice sampling of all my beauty products to feel grounded and comfortable when I leave home. That image to the left is my worst nightmare. There is no way I could survive on that!
Praise the geniuses of the beauty industry for producing travel-sized containers of quality beauty products. I can now stuff that quart-sized bag with miniaturized containers of my favorite products. And we can all enjoy the trip to the airport just a little bit more.
Some of the best travel sized kits out there are good quality and easy on the budget, especially if you are a regular in the friendly skies. For skincare, this Murad travel kit is perfect. For $12.95, you get a great kit to keep your skin healthy and glowing while away (it's also a great way to try products before shelling out the money for a full size). The Murad four piece Travel Essentials Kit comes with bestselling products like their hydrating toner and SPF eye-cream. Its truly a must-have for just $12.95 plus 11% cash back. At Beauty.com, you can buy this L'Occitane Getaway set, a $52 value for only $35 with 8% cash back. This eight piece set comes with everything you need for your hair and body. The set has shampoo and conditioner, body wash, lotion, hand cream, and bar soap. You can pick and choose which of these products you want to tote with you, and then store the rest for later. It's a great investment and will last forever, and will keep you looking good and breezing though travel lines!
Another great way to bypass check-in hassles whilst being eco-friendly and frugal is to pick up some travel sized bottles from the Container Store. Prices range from less than one dollar to $7.99 for a full travel set, all with 4% cash back. You can borrow product from your own full sized containers and easily pack these into the mandated baggie. Plus they are leak-proof, because we have all been there...

Fragrances make excellent gifts. This is mostly because you are buying someone a thoughtful luxury that, perhaps, they wouldn't buy themselves. This warm-hearted sentiment can sometimes become problematic if you are unaware of what fragrance the gift recipient likes or, if you do not like their chosen fragrance and want to break them of that habit. This is where my new favorite holiday gift comes into play: the Sephora Scent Sampler Best Sellers For Her, available with 8% cash back (was 4% -- woo hoo increased holiday cash back! Learn more here). What makes this little sample set so genius is that not only are you giving ten deluxe samples of Sephora's top selling fragrances (Aquolina Pink Sugar, Bulgari Omnia Crystalline, Calvin Klein Euphoria, Givenchy Very Irresistible Givenchy Sensual, Marc Jacobs Daisy, Philosophy Amazing Grace, Stella McCartney Stella, and Vera Wang Princess), the set actually comes with a Sephora gift certificate to purchase a full-sized bottle of your favorite after you are done sampling! So basically, you are giving someone the gift of ten deluxe samples and one full sized bottle of a best-selling fragrance. It might just be magical.
Gents, don't despair. There is also a Men's Scent Sampler Best Sellers as well! And the set includes top sellers like: Bulgari Aqua Pour Homme Marine,Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme, Giorgio Armani Acqua Di Gio Pour Homme and many more! Truly, this is a gift-giving must-have for anyone on your list. Plus you get whopping 8% cash back for yourself to spread more cheer and fresh scent!

Sometimes I wonder, with all the developing technology, if popular culture has turned into some freakish Sci-Fi movie that scared teenagers sitting in basements fifty years ago. What spawned this new outburst of thoughts? Easy: the advent of oscillating mascaras introduced by Lancôme and Estee Lauder. They look exactly like traditional mascaras with an average container, but have motors causing the wand to vibrate for a better, more thorough, and clump-free application.
According to Lancôme, the result of the vibrating mascara wand are lashes that are "extended, separated and visibly multiplies", okay, you are slowly convincing me. Although the thought of a motorized device that close to my eye (especially with my lack-of-precision) actually frightened me. At least it did, but that was before I saw the demonstration video at Lancôme.com and realized how slight the vibrations actually are; so slight that I probably do not need to worry about inflicting injury. Also, you must hold down the power button as you apply, for added safety. The Lancôme Oscillation Power Mascara boasts 7,000 oscillations per minute! That is some high-tech beauty! This product sells for $34 at Lancome.com with 6% cash back. Also, you receive a complimentary gift and free shipping; just enter code POWERMASCARA at checkout! I think it is definitely worth a try, if not just to weigh in you opinion on the matter and get a great free gift to boot!
If you are more of an Estee Lauder person, don't despair. They have launched ' Turbolash' All Effects Motion Mascara. Turbolash promises volume, length, curl, and separation all with one stroke of the trademarked and patent-pending LashSonic brush. This product was the first vibrating wand mascara, and it sells for $32 at Nordstrom with 3% cash back.
So the world of technology continues, taking with it a beauty staple like mascara. While I do enjoy the novelty of a vibrating mascara, and think its a fun addition to the makeup bag, I'm still a fan of my Givenchy Phenomenon eyes, as the ball applicator is enough tech for me.

Somewhere along the line, the idea of an individual "wanting it all" has received a bad reputation. I ask, "What's so wrong with wanting it all, especially when it comes to makeup?" For example, I want to get 30,000 different makeup combinations for just forty eight dollars. I want it all; I want seventy-one eye shadows, thirteen cream eye shadows, sixty lip glosses, five blushes, brushes, one compact powder, one lip liner, one eyeliner and three sponge applicators. What's more is that I want all of that to fold up in a sleek, portable black case. Too much to ask? Not for my pals at Sephora. The have just released the Sephora Brand Ultimate Blockbuster: Collectors Edition. This fancy little kit appeals to over-the-top collectors like myself, people who want the wonderful world of makeup right at their fingertips, theoretically at all times. I could bring this beauty chest to work with me and one second look like myself and the next be Tammy Faye Baker's doppelganger (R.I.P.). I want that kind of possibility in my makeup routine, and for a staggering $48 dollars with 4% cash back, I can. The collection makes an amazing gift for someone special on your list or just for yourself, so go ahead... you deserve it!
A little too much bang for your buck? I understand. That kind of selection can be a tad overwhelming. Try this Tarte Limited Edition Vanity Palette instead, a $494 value for just $52 dollars plus 4% cash back. This set features sixteen eye shadows and sixteen lip glosses, a deluxe mascara, mineral bronzer, luminizer, blushes, and two quality brushes to put it all together. This is an amazing kit, and it makes a great gift for everyone from the beauty obsessed (like yours truly) to those people on your list who need a little help. This kit is all one needs to create countless day or night beauty looks.
You can have it all (with some cash back) and so can everyone on your list!

Cold and flu season is that time of year that everyone dreads like the plague....or like the flu ( they should change that saying). I am one of those people that thinks they hate being sick more than anyone else and we are usually the ones to drop first. It is always those people who don't wash their hands, never sleep a wink or let a vitamin pass their lips that reign victorious. Which has led me to the conclusion that getting sick is 1/2 frame of mind ( "I will not get sick...") and 1/2 essential products that will keep you like bubble boy for the entire season.
First and foremost, you will need Vitamin C. There are all kinds of fancy brands and names. I think just regular vitamin C will do the trick. Check out a great selection at Puritans Pride, offering 6% cash back. While you are there, pick up an Echinacea and Goldenseal liquid extract, for just $14.99 and you get one free! It is always a good combo to keep in the arsenal.
Add some Emergen-C Packets, on sale for just $10.46, 30% off original retail. These are great for on the go prevention and have B vitamins and other effective preventative compounds like Quercetin and Zinc.

I also recommended, stocking up on some kind of hand sanitizer for all of those times a sick person opens a door in front of you, boards the bus or gets anywhere near your personal space during the season. Try this EO Organic Hand Sanitizer six pack in lavender scent. It is currently on sale at Drugstore.com for 15% off and is now only $19, with 6% cash back. The six pack is great, you can stock your desk, work bag, car and home.
While you are shopping at Drugstore.com, I highly recommend adding some Zicam to your shopping cart and subsequently, part of your survival kit. This product is intended to reduce the severity of the common cold or prevent one from getting full blown sick. So if you feel something coming on, take some of this ( it comes in nasal swab form or lozenges) and your symptoms will not fully progress or last as long.
Hopefully, these suggestions for a Cold/Flu season survival kit will keep you well and enjoying all your cash back. Now is the time to stock up and save! Shop on!

I am a commitment-phobe when it comes to beauty products. I am always sure there is something better out there and I will leave my trusty favorites in search of a superior item. I usually come back, but I have to try everything else to be positive. When I stumbled upon The Lash Stash sampler at Sephora, I knew I had to get my hands on it. It comes with ten mini-sized best-selling mascaras, so you don't have to commit to just one until you have tried them all. It sells for just $35 (it is an $85 value) with 4% Cash Back. This item makes for a great gift and will bring smiles to the face of any woman you originally thought of buying chocolates for (unless it's your wife, then most often, neither are appropriate). I am picking up a couple; one for myself, one for my best friend, and one for my mom's stocking; apparently "beauty junkie" is genetic.
